- Decorating for winter in January can be tough. This is something I've actually always struggled with. In the past, I put everything Christmas-y away, but this year I kept out most of the green stuff and I'm really happy I did! Adding greenery to my typical neutral color palette was all I needed to get that cozy, warm winter look and feel.

As you get older you will appreciate the artificial garlands and trees. Less work and just as beautiful. I did a snowman tree and decorated my dining room with snowmen. I transitioned my Christmas tree in the family room to Valentine’s and decorated the mantle with a Valentine’s theme. I still have two more trees up. The one in my bedroom is Buffalo Check with memorial ornaments and the one in my craft room is a blessing tree.

Something as simple as you vacuuming the needles from the floor and piano was very relaxing! 😁 I'm not looking forward to taking down my tree just yet (I put it up a little late 2 weeks before Christmas) so I will most likely have it up till the end of January. I love your large picture window behind your couch. I could fill that up with loads of plants. Thanks for sharing.

Do you keep the Garland on the fireplace all winter is the tree real or artificial does it stay up aswell
I will take the tree down soon here, but I'll probably leave the fireplace garland for a little while longer. It just feels so cozy. Hope that helps! :)
