THIS SOUNDS LIKE A KING’S SONG ALREADY.
Fantasia Teaser is making me think so much. I LOVE IT.
1. Minhyuk and hands reaching out from the darkness. Minhyuk stands under the light while the hands are reaching out from the darkness. It's like they want to reach out and drag him back. What do those hands signify? Hmm.
2. Hyungwon and the people around him. Dutch Tilt shot signifies madness, disorientation, unease. Hyungwon is surrounded by madness, but he looks peaceful and calm.
3. Changkyun and the masked people around him. Changkyun 'stands over' the chaotic people around him. He stands firm, unyielding in the middle of chaos.
4. Jooheon and the 2 huge panthers. Jooheon holds the leash to 2 powerful creatures. He doesn't look scared, in fact, he looks powerful and in control.
5. Shownu falling in a dark void. There's a post from the director about entropy and it reminded me of this void. After entropy, what exists? Nothing?
6. Kihyun and light and darkness. Kihyun stands between light and darkness.
So far, I have 2 perspectives about Fantasia.
1. Fantasia is about the mind. I can't help but think about those closed and open doors. Like doors to the mind. If one looks within, what lies behind those doors? Fears, nightmare, problems, chaos, madness, people. I think these things are being signified by the masked beings that surround them. And I think the boys - as presented in the teaser - are beings in control of their minds. Minhyuk stands in the light. His thoughts are good, positive and he doesn't let the 'hands' drag him back. Changkyun stands proudly and unyielding. Jooheon holds the leash, signifies control and power. Shownu fall into a void, and the shot turned to Shownu 'facing down' the void. Kihyun in the middle of light and darkness, a balance of thoughts. So I think.. maybe, Fantasia is a place where people have control and power over their thoughts. They don't let the darkness take over. They fight it. They face it. They don't cower to it. Because they know that their light, their brilliance, will always defeat the fears within.
2. Fantasia is about entropy. I think the director posted about it. Entropy. And from the flames, the color schemes, the warm tones - I think they point to heat. Fire.
According to physics4kids, 'Entropy is a measure of the random activity in a system....When we say random, we mean energy that can't be used for any work. It's wild and untamed.'. So like... they used Fire, flame to symbolize Entropy?Hmm..
When entropy reaches it limit, what is the 'after?' Maybe it's nothingness. Nothing will exist anymore.
So, after manipulating time again and again, the energy released in those activities rose up, resulting in a massive increase in entropy. Maybe, when the energy released is too much, the entropy reached its limit, and everything exploded and just ceased to exist. That's why Shownu was falling into a void. Nothingness.
And maybe, the hands, the masked people, the shadows, the darkness vs. the guys in light, the guys being calm, the guys being unyielding and in control - i think they show the balance. Balance: Light and darkness, order and chaos, peace and madness.
So excited for Fantasia!!! Fighting, Monsta X!!!
