I did change my fuel pump module on my 2014 lincoln mkt myself without removing all the plastic parts on the bottom . First time my lincoln with 50.000 miles had the module failed so mi car didn't start at all. So I took it to the dealership. The mechanic came in the parking lot and not even 5 min and the car was ready to drive again. Those mechanics know exactly how to replace the module without removing the cover only just the top. Same I did myself when the module failed in 150.000 miles and until today is working. I have the new one always with me just in case . Subscribed !!! Great video. 👍
This video was spot-on. I have a fix car reader. My reader didn't say that I had a problem. But my car behaved exactly the way you said. I am not mechanically inclined at all. But the way you broke down the information gave me the courage to try it myself. I went very slowly to make sure that I didn't mess anything up. But the repair was exactly the way you Illustrated. I have a 2014 Lincoln MKT. The same placement on the 14 as well as the 13. You save me $300 at the dealer. THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO 😁😁👍🏾✊🏾
Thanks. I have some upcoming repairs to record, including a timing cover leak, which will also include a new chain and tensioners, and likely an inner tie rod.
Problem happened today this morning , I really thought it was a fuse to the fuel pump. Thank you for this informative video. My mkt is a 2014 livery edition with only 70k miles on it. I will replace the module and give an update
Great vid! Excellent info. One thing, the 7/32 screw IS actually metric. For some reason, a 5.5 mm socket exists. Most commercial grade 1/4 drive socket sets have them. It's weird. Probably a leftover from some conversion process.
I'll openly admit to not being very car savvy. So this may be a dumb question. My wife has a 2014 Lincoln MKT and the engine light came on. Autozone diagnosed it as a fuel tank pressure sensor. Is this the same thing?
Hi Dustin, I don't think this is the same issue. In the case of this relay, if it fails the pump simply won't run and neither will the car. What code is AZ saying the car is throwing? The fuel tank pressure sensor is part of the emission system. Here's an excellent video on how the system works and what the FTP sensor does: ua-cam.com/video/RhyVaTNstaM/v-deo.html A bad sensor shouldn't be dangerous for the engine, but it would definitely cause you to fail an emissions test if you live somewhere that testing is done. It can also cause issues when you are filling the tank. Gas pumps sense a change in air pressure and if it rises too fast (like fuel is filling up the filler neck pushing out vapor) it triggers the pump to shut off. If the pump doesn't work to bleed off pressure while gassing up then the pump might constantly click off after only a few seconds.
Every one has been programed to stay away from the dealer for parts because they think the price is higher that is not always true that fuel pump control module is $34.00 check for yourself.
Great video! The Dealership couldn’t figure this problem out. I got my partners car up and running great!

Try this first before you try and drop the gas tank to replace the fuel pump. It’s cheaper, easier and in my case, worked!

I hope this fixes the issue for you. It is far easier than replacing the fuel pump. Definitely let me know how it works out.

Depending on the part I often search dealers too. But the nearest Ford dealer is at least 30 minutes from me while AutoZone is 10 minutes.
I got mine at the same price for the dealership today. I was floored.
You’re the best friend
Nice information
Great Video!
When does it usually go out? Randomly any time?
I don't think there is any particular age or mileage. It is just a random failure. I had about 70k miles when it died.
Thank U
Where you grab your repair manual from?
Emanualonline.com
It didn’t work still isn’t cranking to start
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like your fuel pump may have actually failed.
Ferd doesn’t like fuel pumps for some reason 🤷♂️
