Yeah, the notion that cheating doesn't exist in relationships with multiple partners isn't true. You set up rules to fit your needs, just as you have boundaries in monogamy, so breaking a rule that everyone agreed to which states you can't have that other relationship is still cheating.
What are these relationship names? Monogamy and polygamous? I’ve never heard of these.

In regards to the last question, definitely tell the wife. I've been somewhat of 'the other woman' before, and had proof of the guy coming on to me, and sending it to his girlfriend lifted a moral weight, it was almost cleansing. It was also kind of darkly satisfying, seeing a dickhead's relationship crumble by my hand. His girlfriend was completely lovely to me (which may not be the same in this case but hey ho) and we even ended up going on a couple dates. So yeah, don't wait for karma.
