This is the second time I'm watching this video. Diastar is truly a legendary watch especially for Indians. This watch was even featured on Amazon Prime series called " Bambai meri jaan " which is a biography of Dawood Ibrahim.
Back in the 70-80s parents used to gift Diastar to their kids when they pass with a first class degree. So there was good demand of Diastar. In the series it was shown that when Dawood was just beginning his career, his group bought this watch for 5000 at that time and since many parents wanted to buy this watch, Dawood and gang used to catch those parents and offer the watch for 2500 and then very cunningly replace the watch with a stone and they looted multiple people with one Diastar.
Diastar is truly a legendary watch. Though the gold variant is too much gold as you said, but that's the one I'm eyeing on. Anyway I don't have a JHATAK looking gold watch so was considering Seiko Cotura, but Diastar full gold is gonna be the one.

HMT Kedar is a homage watch of RADO Diastar. Kedar is a good watch to have in collection. But RADO Diastar Original Automatic is a real diamond on your wrist.

OMG bro.. its a very sophisticated, funky yet edgy looking watch.. truly the Swiss knew even back then how to balance those beauty elements.. and that innovative clasp length adjustment.. if i had the money.. i would have bought just for the metal belt.. Apple making hoops and loops and god knows what fabric bullshit but this is the real deal.. genuine engineering so smart and elegant..

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I personally never recommend any limited edition watch as the price is higher than similar featured watch from same brand. Of course when one has disposable money, then spending more on something unique will make sense, but not for regular watch lover.

TBH, RADO Diastar is an emotion to Indians from 70s and 80s. And whenever I wear this watch on special days, I get queries about this watch at least from 2 person ☺️. Certainly its not girlish and every Diastar will have a girlish version as well which is further smaller in size.
