To this day, this is still my favorite Dwayne Johnson scene from ANY movie he has done.
Only one that includes his trademark finisher too lol
And whoever put this clip together took out some of the best parts. The shot where he's trying to convince his boss to cut those guys a break because he really is a fan and doesn't want to hurt them. The aftermath of the adrenaline dump where he's trying to list ingredients of a recipe in his cookbook, 😂. Criminally underrated film. I'd love to know why they didn't do a sequel.

As Dwayne enters the club, Arnold Schwarzenegger walks by and tells him, "Have fun". This was his way of acknowledging that his time as an Action Hero was coming to an end and Dwayne's was beginning.

As far as I'm concern, this was Dwayne Johnson's best role. Beck was a very relatable character. He just wanted to start a new life opening a restaurant. Dwayne proved his acting chops on this one.
Agreed, although he was slightly better in Walking Tall.
Basically playing the same character as here, but in a more realistic movie.
A simple plot, for a more civilized times.

It’s the problem with young winners. The same competitiveness that got them there, it’s a drug. You have a beautiful wife, but you have to go out every night and compete for other women. You have money, but you have to go out and get more just to feel competitive. You want to race your car to feel alive. They couldn’t turn it off, and it made them a little better than the ones who weren’t crazy.
That said, i never understood why they don’t just pay it. Remember when Michael Jordan got caught up in the gambling thing, and he owed someone almost a million dollars? You’re richer than rich. Just pay it, so it doesn’t become a problem, it’s not like you’re poor.

Dwayne, on the other hand, is way ahead of himself with the jumajis, jungle cruises and baywatches. Hes never made a good action since this and walking tall. All hes done now is made an overkill of himself.
Only in this scene though. The rest of the movie sucks balls.

He was decent at Miami but do be fair he got a full scholarship to Miami after only playing 2 years of highschool back and he was behind Warren Sapp on that roster. Not getting drafted was prob the best thing for him as he obviously went on to bigger and better things.

It was my college days. I used to fancy myself after this character and do small collection work 🤣 though I was 6'3 but nowhere close to heavy as rock is in that scene.but was enough to intimidate.

The movie was originally called ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. I watched it again just this year. Great fun. They could have started earlier where Arnold Schwarzenegger does a cameo when Dwayne walks in to the club.

One of his best seens so far and he has become quite the actor I think at least. But this one was the best. And then goes outside and goes down by a sandbag. And when his boss laughs and says he didn’t get you with one of those sandbags did he. A really good movie in all.

As big and strong as they are (and some even bigger then the rock) they aren’t fighters. I remember when saying (I play football) was supposedly meant to imply the person would do well in a fight . Glad to see a scene show what happens when a big guy with actual skill shows them up.
