If he felt so close to Anika at one point, he probably still should’ve tried to lean into that relationship rather than target her. It makes more sense to lean into working with her rather than salvage Andy’s relationship with him. At that point, it’s okay to stay on good terms with Andy if anything crazy happened at tribal. But trying to drive a vote on Anika was never going to work this early with how the tribe dynamics were laid out Maybe if Jon had showed Anika & Rachel how much he wanted to work with them, they both would’ve pushed for him to stay. I’m even more confused on why Jon wanted to keep Andy over Anika at this point. Instead, it got back that ge was scheming which rightfully spooked Sam. I do agree with Jon that this vote was not because of the competitions. And I do believe if Jon got his footing, he would’ve been a potentially scary player in the end game/jury phase. I also do believe Jon would’ve been much better off on Blue or Red. Yellow was such a bad draw for him and I’m honestly shocked they put him on that tribe. Red just seemed like the obvious fit if they wanted him to succeed
I think this first vote was pretty straight forward. They just felt like Andy was stronger and more useful in future challenges. And the goal was to win immunity. Plus Jon was a strategic threat.
People always tend to make the mistake of keeping someone unstable and that almost always comes back to bite them. It should’ve been an easy Andy vote honestly
Andy turned his meltdown into sympathy. He titled things so that voting him out would be mean and it would clearly hurt him, so it was easier to vote out Jon.
One word: Ulong. Just because a tribe is “physically stronger” doesn’t mean they are going to win all challenges. Cohesion is more important than challenge strength alone
I genuinely think that most of the reason why Jon was voted out, was because the rest of the tribe was just feeling bad about Andy. The whole reason he had his moment, was because he thought they were gonna vote him out first, so I think that deterred most people of voting against him
Nah, there is no way it was because of that. These players are too cut throat nowadays. Sam correctly read that Jon was here to play hard. Before Jon could get his footing, Sam & Associates axed him. Also, Andy is a super easy vote next tribal if they lose the next challenge. So essentially you eliminate someone who surely could’ve flipped on the tribe come merge plus keep Andy who’s definitely in the line of firing if they lose. Almost a no brainer for Sam and Sierra IMO
Andy was a sketch bomb and Jon should have gotten Andy to tell the other tribe members to vote out Anuka. Jon was my 1st choice and now it's Gabe from Baltimore MD! Greetings from Annapolis Maryland!
For a guy who has a supposedly popular podcast and supposedly a speechwriter or something, Jon was incredibly frustrating to listen to in this interview. Constantly dropping or stopping thoughts, stopping in the middle of a sentence, stuttering and stammering, never coherently weaving an argument or thought. I guess he's good at writing speeches in advance but not speaking in the moment
He was the same way on Rob’s podcast, but I think it’s because he has to be very mindful about what he says to avoid giving anything away or spoiling. You can tell there is stuff he wants to say but can’t. I mean on the show he spoke and articulated stuff very well so he is well spoken but he’s clearly trying to be careful here
Predicted Jon would go home first. I think he overestimates his IRL appeal. He’s the least objectionable of the white, rich, smarmy, over-educated PSA guys but that’s not saying much. He doesn’t need “Survivor” & “Survivor” doesn’t need him. But I’ll bet $$ they’ll have him back so everyone can relax.
I was so shocked really thought it would be Andy, I wanted to see Jon play further
Mike Bloom is so good at his job.
Great interview Mike!

I feel so bad. His sadness is palpable. So not his normal vibe.
Lol. He is rich. He will be fine.

100%! Great synopsis!

@@tmm4195thank you! They haven’t learned anything from previous seasons
Andy turned his meltdown into sympathy. He titled things so that voting him out would be mean and it would clearly hurt him, so it was easier to vote out Jon.
It’s very difficult when someone agrees with you but they are lying because it leaves you with nothing that you can do
Andy’s breakdown lowkey felt very Brandon Hantz, but like a non-violent version
Sorry to see Jon go so soon. He was my fav going in. Hope he gets another chance.
One word: Ulong.

How you feeling now?
Love you, Jon

Jon 💯

Andy will make them pay for keeping him.
I’m still so bummed

@@tmm4195i think you are rightm does this mean is a LOT for us to see moving forrword in the season?
White privilege personified.

You will get another chance to go back on Survivor Jon. Andy clearly has mental health issues , which we will all see more of.
100% not watching this season. Jon Lovett was the most interesting thing to happen to Survivor in literal decades.
He did not know how to play the game no matter how wonderful he is.
@patriciamooney928 Based on what? He played fine. It was a very unfortunate situation, but he had a good head for the game and played hard
I would have voted against him just for helping Hillary.
Yeah a person that constantly lies, is racist, xenophobic etc. is much better than Hillary was.
HAHA
