- i know victoria junior college is quite reputed for it’s super HYPE AND RARARA culture, but i wanted to show the perspective of someone who doesn’t really fit the extroverted stereotype of the typical victorian. i don’t have a lot of friends, i don’t actually have a solid friend group, but that doesn’t mean jc life has to be miserable. (:
to all the j1s who had just entered ori and feel afraid of being left out, it’s really okay. i feel the same way too, as a j2 who already struggles to connect with her class. don’t force yourself to befriend people you don’t like, and don’t change yourself to please others. be yourself. true friends will stick with you no matter what. 🩷 - Фільми й анімація
when i saw that title i hoenstly felt quite happy knowing that there’s someone else who’s like me😭i’m from jc too and i just cannot click with anyone in my class and despite having a small friend group i nvr rly felt happy interacting with them due to rly different interests and never rly agreed with things they did… even though i have good friends from other classes it’s just so hard to stay close with them because of the packed schedule and i can’t help but question if it’s me problem all along🥲🥲but i so agree with being lonely rather than pleasing others just to fit in🫶 hope you’re doing well in school still:)

as a graduated victorian, rara culture is fun and all, but even for a majority of victorians, life looks alot like this :") but its all good! im happy u dont think too much about it, and trust me, friend groups in jc are harddddd !! good luck for a's this yr! you've got this

reading your bio in the description box makes me happy because every individual is different and I love how you expressed your own experience in your way. I also thought that anyone who goes to JC always had a great social life and is always the life of a party. I get you though! I was also always alone and on my own for several years in ITE, but then I was forced to socialize and interact now I'm in Poly.

Hiii I think I have a similar story - but I was in VS. Naturally, the guys are more sporty, while I'm really interested in only studying. Hence I didn't quite like the culture, and I chose not to go VJC. Ironically, after I graduated from university I've delved so much into sports, that everyone was surprised I even had those opportunities. Guess it's similar to those late bloomers.
Adding on my personal advice, ok to be alone - that's free time for yourself! When something catches your fancy, your heart will know it, and your free time will be filled. That's what happened to me and I am hoping I can have some free time to even clean up my table now.
Imagine if I have a lot of commitments with friends after school - I probably can't do the things I want.
Of course, this is a super well done video!

Hello, I was from vj too and your video brings back memories of me doing things alone 😌 cos i couldnt click with my classmates even when I was around with them.
Was a difficult time but I would like to say, it gets better :) i met a lot more good friends I could relate to after JC so dont worry, theres a beautiful life ahead to meet new people and also join some activities outside! Uni is a great place to meet friends as well
Hey! Very glad that I can relate a lot to your vlog. I was extremely introverted during my JC days and spent lots of my breaks/free periods in solitude as I really enjoyed the tranquility. Now I'm working full time and have naturally become more extroverted (idk how but I guess my extroversion came with age). My job requires minimal interaction with others and I lowkey wish that I can be surrounded by my peers back in school. JC me would've been so surprised at how extroverted I've become, haha! Perhaps you can let me know in the future if there are any changes for you. Amazing vlog and I wish you the best for A Levels!

Chanced upon your video. I'm twice your age and was from JC system too. Being in humanities class, we usually have alot more girls than boys. I didn't hang out much with my peers other than a couple of boys in civic group during my time, and JC just passed hastily in a blink.
Looking back, I wish I were a bit more socially involved in my class even if I only need a few friends. Damn, i dont even remember much about my jc life now. It's like 2 years of life lost. Am pretty sure more fond memories would have been made if i were more active in school. Nonetheless, you are definitely on the right track to revise during your free time rather than waiting till exam time. I never did that and i screwed things up. Haha

Im also currently studying in alevels too and have friends but they all have diff subjects combi or different timing in their class schedule. 😅 I do relate smm with this video because my alevel study life is quite similar to urs

How do you recommend studying to get good grades
Grow and slowly realise that the rule of "change yourself to please others" though should not be a dominant component, is essential such that it can be weaponised at times to one's advantage. Your great handsome friend @ 4:00 can flood you with days of life instances to debunk, should you think otherwise.
You can make it. Many people do. Its tough, it sucks but its a must
(Haha i am also an intro- found it odd that you applied as OGL, i wouldnt be able to do it)

Just asking don't mind me as I currently studying o levels but doing assessment books without note taking.
i do make notes but tbh i don’t find it effective beyond organising info from ur tb. if the notes u have from teachers etc is already quite structured theres no need to make new ones. practice is FAR more impt

Hii!! Youre so inspirational! I relate with you so much!! So many of my Sec Four (2023) seniors joined this school. Do you have any advice for a Sec two student? Its really stressful this year already even though its only the start of the streaming year
aw thank you (: i guess my advice would be to pace yourself, sec 2 content rlly isnt that much on hindsight and u just need to rly take the time to see what subjs pique your interest before you choose your combi at the end of the year!

@@ning1zforced to withdraw participation from cca because of health reasons. but for studies i honestly mug like a week before exams… i do my tutorials & lectures consistently tho so that i at least get a sensing of what’s going on !! and also i try to study using mark schemes rather than js notes

I am a student in victoria sch's o level track, whenever I go to VJC for VCA events or so, it always came across to me that vjc's campus it a bit old and run down as compared to other jcs. Right now, RJC is my goal and VJC is more of a back up option.
