to decrease focus is a working solution, and fast galvos. I use cheap 2-5kpps Shinp steppers and 2 Laserworldcs30k's it's different to get hit by the two projectors. The shnip is more like melting something in the eye , you feel that your eye close by reflex. And the beampath is visible if u close u'r eye . If u get hit by the laserworld ,it's like on festivals, no problems. My assumption is: the fast scann cause shorter(and maybe more harmless) exposure times to the photoreceptor in the eye.
not to mention it's also modulated. It blinks either 50.000 or 100.000 times a second. So you will never really injure anything as long as you keep some distance from the source.
To ALL ! Be Carefull with cheap DPSS Lasers without IR Filter ! Many cheap DPSS lasers like in pointers are without IR Filter.That means, maybe 30mw of 532nm but about >100mw of IR Trash in the laserbeam. Good luck to your eye ! I hope u didn't watched in them stoned or on pills. That can increase damage...
