I'll never forget reading the Bio for this one for the first time when it was revealed during SDCC 2011 because, just as I learned about Evil Lyn and Skeletor's son, my wife came into the bedroom to tell me she was pregnant!

The in-continuity reason should be that Evil-Lyn is from Springfield.

As I have mentioned in previous comments, I am a die hard Evil-Lyn fan. The Battleground Evil-Lyn is such a great figure. I loved having her rare hair appearance in a toy.
I always found her a sympathetic character. She is vastly more intelligent and capable than the goons around her and has to work under a guy who somehow gets to run the show, despite his many failures.
She felt very real and relatable to me even as a child. Lol
The sassy/bitchy attitude is all gravy.
One of, if not, my all time favorite toy in the line. Thank you. 🖤

One of the main reasons her appearance might have changed in filmation is the advent of goth culture in the early and mid 80ties. Probably took a few years until it caught on in the US. So with the time between the toy line design and the filmation release the influence might have caught on. Filmation Evil Lyn definitly has a bit of a goth style to herself, the 200X version definitly has. The way Evil Sorceresses were depicted definitly changed during the 80ties, many took on similar goth inspired forms.

This was a great figure, and I was very happy to add it to my collection. And I'll add my voice to the "wish we could've gotten the full MYP look as a figure" crowd. >SIGH< If only the line could've continued longer . . . .
I especially liked the glow-in-the-dark staff crystal on this version of her. I never even knew that the original Evil-Lyn figure from 1983 had a glow-in-the-dark wand until maybe two or three years ago.

I remember on Matty Collector the official story on 200X Evillyn was that Super 7 made the decision to not do the updated dress even though it was budgeted for. I do like they added so much new deco to the old dress, but that 200X version would have been great. Of course I'm still lamenting that Matty Collection and Super 7 both did not give us the 200X Sorceress.

I always preferred this style of Evil Lynn, there is a sophistication to her that really comes across. Yet another figure I didn't know existed (sorry) but now I wouldn't mind owning. 2 things: With her last name as Powers was this a creator nod to Mike Powers or (like Matt Mason) was there some plan to connect the dots? Also aside from the book & allusions in classics were there any other references to Evil Lynn & company being on that rocket ship from earth? (I find that a fascinating idea.)

I love both versions of the MOTUC Evil Lyn. The Sophia Loren influence really shines through in the yellow version. NECA did actually release a yellow variant of the 200X Evil Lyn, I never picked it up as to me the color didn't translate well to that version of her. As for the Origins Evil Lyn, it's clear they were going for more vivid, almost neon colors with the line, so a bright yellow would be the obvious choice for that aesthetic (Man at Arms and Beast Man are almost neon signs). I'm glad they did the bright colors on Origins, it keeps the line fun and unique. Besides, I think that other series they are doing will be more realistic looking in line with the McFarlane stuff and GI Joe Classified. I'm glad we're getting both lines and I really do miss Classics. MOTUC is such a huge springboard for all of this, it continues to inspire and influence the toy world.

If that sounds ridiculous, remember that Tattoo from TMNT had yellow skin because he was Asian and he came out years later (1991?).
