"basic-ass crow" haha!
Looks like a cool game - glad you liked it!
I love that The Escapist reviews these smaller, interesting games i dont know about.
This might be weird to say but honestly the most attractive point for me is the fact that it's not a roguelike.
It looked like it could be one, but it isn't, and im glad.
It's very sad to see how dominant the roguelike genre has become. I agree with you, definitely not a fan of roguelike games and glad this isn't one.
I really like a lot of Rouge-lites, but you’re right, we need a few top down action games that are different.
@@alexstone5410 I understand that many people like rogue-lites and that's fine! It's just that companies are hopping into the bandwagon making every game rogue-lite even though it doesn't fit just for the trend.
I honestly thought it was gonna be a really pretty roguelike.
Honestly, what I got was preferable to a roguelike.
Not that I hate em (I’m addicted to them when they’re done well), but…wouldn’t be right if it was a roguelike, with what I just played.
@@bigbluebuttonman1137 a rogue like is just developers that are lazy to make a whole game with many different areas and settle with 3-4 areas that are repeatable to not make it a 5-hour game, this has exceptions something like Hades is a roguelike but it definitely not lazy as the amount of story u progress through and many twists on the gameplay makes it one of the few roguelike I ever enjoyed
Looks great, and it's getting great reviews.
My favorite thing about this game, by far, is the fact that I first heard about it in 2021. I wishlisted it on Steam in 2021. It got a concrete release date in 2021, and it actually released complete (no early access, no reports of game-breaking bugs) in 2021!
That is so rare for a game these days. Take notes devs...Big or small: Keep your hype machine in check until your game is ready.
The mix of different tones in this game is intriguing! Cute, spooky, and goofy all in one. Definitely gonna get it.
Yeah this sounds like a slamdunk for me.
i like KC's reviews, this sold me, ill pick it up tonight.
Yet another game I would have completely missed if not for this series. Thanks for the recommendation! Just got my copy.
Thanks for playing KC🙏🍻
"basic ass crow" made me laugh
made me cringe
KCs reviews usually match my own feelings to the point. Gonna try this.
I finally managed to get all the trophies this past weekend, very much enjoyed this game. I am hoping they make a sequel, even if it ends up loosely connected (as it did with the prequel which is revealed in the full ending).
So happy to see its actually good. When the trailer first dropped I thought it looked very exciting
Now this looks interesting.
I _loved_ the aesthetic of this game, it's just the right mixture of everything. The action is very solid, but I personally found the level layouts a little bewildering at times and the battles a tad unforgiving....but I think the last game action-adventure game I played was probably Link to the Past, so don't give my personal gripes much weight.
This reminds me a lot of Bastion, defintely gonna try it
Keep up the good work guys!
I wanted to love it, but couldn't do it.
I loved the first half of TUNIC but bounced off the obscure puzzles HARD. I kept seeing this one mentioned as a TUNIC-like so I may go for it.
I feel like KC is a bloke after my own heart so it's no surprise to see him reviewing Death's Door. I'll certainly pick it up!
I am so grateful this banger of a game dropped on android
I’ve played maybe 30 mins and I can already tell it’s gonna be my GOTY for 2021
The children of Bastion are beautiful.
Wow, I was not expecting the review to be this positive. I mean it was unlikely to be bad but I was expecting something much more common fare than this review suggests. Guess this will be a game I get sooner rather than later.
I'm quite curious for this one!
Damn, I would love to see a Switch physical after that review.
Nice review, just picked it up
Definitely gonna keep this on my indie radar
Dziękujemy.
Thank you!
I really loved this game and looking for something similar. Anyone have any recommendations?
Shame there is no Switch release. Seems like a perfect fit for it.
I'd take a guess that it's a six month exclusivity window before it goes to Switch / PlayStation. But don't quote me on that.
@@theescapist I hope that is the case. Thank you for the review! Love the 3 minute format.
It's a perfect fit for the steam.deck;)
switch port beggars 😂😂
@@theescapist On PC it's also on GOG
What does it mean to feel so tight?
In my experience “tight” in this context means well put together, everything functions well and different aspects of gameplay and design compliment each other, making it feel very satisfying to play.
Thanks!
Thank you!
I love the visuals of this game. Gonna have to check it out
Those bosses look pretty cool.
Indie game developers are making interesting games lately 👍
you finally got to play a good game! glad to hear the streak of stinkers is over.
thanks xbox
This is what you get when you fuse prinny and hades..
Dude the game came out yesterday
It came out 24 minutes ago
They are pros and have access to games before their official release
Sweet, isometric dark souls.
Game is boring, it sucks
No health bar for the bosses! Why does no one talk about this? It's not a feature, it's lazy development.
A Nintendo Switch version would be ideal for this game type.
Surprised devolver didn’t market this game more, seems cute and unique.
Absolutely gorgeous! And with good story *and* good gameplay too? Slam dunk.
Who do I have to bribe to get this on the Switch?
RIP subtle, alien or funny music sequences in games
Nice
No PS release…
@Alex Sonne so ?
Sweet jebus, this game looks fucking gorgeous.
Very cool! Adding it to the list.
