Did you know the Wright Brothers’ plane at Carillon Park is the second oldest in the world? 🤯 What was your favorite part of our adventure-riding the train, exploring history, or those awesome slides? Let me know in the comments! 👇
I love Carillon Park. I can never get enough of it. I go every year for Christmas and think it is cool that we have this much history within Dayton. From the Wright Bros to the smaller stuff it is just a beautiful place. I am glad to see that you enjoy it too. Fun fact: If you stand in front of the print shops and have your back to the building there is an eagles nest up in there.
Yes, I just read in the past week they think the male has died. Apparently the female has a new, younger suitor that she's sharing the nest with, and they don't think she would do that if her old mate was still around. I also really enjoy the park. I tell people that unless you've been, you wouldn't expect that a city like Dayton would have a park/museum of this caliber.
