Use the whey for lector for Lacto-fermenting fruits. You can use the juice that’s left over to put in carbonated water, sparkling water or Kiefer water and make a soda with flavorings.
Not possible in colder climate , in hot climate you can just leave the milk out in the open & pray to god that it ferments instead of spoiling. Use the store bought yogurt to make 1st batch. use the 1st batch to make 2nd batch. use the 2nd batch to make 3rd batch. In the 3rd batch there will no trace of the store bought yogurt.
Thank you soooo much for sharing. You see, there is this Yogurt Fermentation Project in school, and it's due next week, and I havn't started. Thank you sooooo much, this cleared up so many confusions. :)
I wish you would put a thing on there to make the curd so that you don't have to use store button yogurt. Like usings red pepper and pepper sticks or lemon or things like that. I would love to know the probiotic value is these verses the yogurt starters. Also a reminder once you have your yogurt you can continue making the yogurt off of your yogurt using it as a starter
Also haven't figure out what makes sour cream vs cream cheese vs yogurt either so if you know and don't mind explaining with another video that would be great
Very cool video, I am wondering if you can create all the varieties of cheese using a similar method of heating milk and adding a culture of the desired cheese you get at the grocery store? I have made yogart as an experiment though i didn't measure temperatures well enough to attempt to eat it. It was more of can i get the consistency and smell at this point.
Hi, i like to ask, after incubation, why are there "cracks" in the curd, meaning, instead of a creamy smooth surface, it has little crack lines all over. Thanks.
Would be cool if cheese was similar in that the type is just defined by what you drop in to the milk. So blue cheese uses bluecheese , mozzerlla uses mozzerlla ,...etc i could be wrong on my thoughts but it seems plausible don't know how practical at home though . Anyway if you know more about this can you do a video explaining making different cheese types from scratch.
Where is the science? I thought you were going to explain the details of chemical processes that happens and why milk turns to yogurt! Also where is the how-to-make yogurt culture as the title suggests? That was a waste of my time since I already know how to make yogurt!
It breaks up the protein. I tried making yoghurt, forgot the heating it and … got separated milk with a layer of milk fat on it. Just done heating it up again, hoping I can recover it and still get yoghurt. Crossing fingers !
OMG... do they know how to make yogurt without yogurt. That is what I am looking for. 99 percent Indians know how to make curd using curd. I even know how to make curd without adding curd.
odd. all the people i know use celsius. you have sharp numbers for freezing and boiling water. 0 and 100. in fahrenheit is 32 and 212. isn't it more complicated lol ? :)))
Would love to see how to make kombucha without store bought starter or scoby. Like, how to do it to safely grow the right bacteria, like you did here

Hi Dr Finch can I use the plastic container that we buy store bought yogurt in
Does it need to breathe or is it better to seal the fermentation vessel?
Hi!😃 Thanks for the video!!! 😃How long does the milk need to be held at 180 degrees before it is cooled to 110?
So how would you do it from scratch, ie you have no old yogurt what would you use to ferment it

Making sour cream is a mixture of heavy cream, alittle milk and cultured buttermilk. If you like creme fresh just leave out the milk.

Nightranger Crane buy a lactose free yogurt and use that for your starter using lactose free milk

Why heat it first?
It breaks up the protein. I tried making yoghurt, forgot the heating it and … got separated milk with a layer of milk fat on it. Just done heating it up again, hoping I can recover it and still get yoghurt. Crossing fingers !
Why heat ? Is it necessary I just use milk no heat no extra yogurt product
Can I add a probiotic capsule to the cooled milk and have yogurt?
Yes, open a capsule and pour in powder into warm milk. Mix everything and leave in warm environment for 8-12 hours.
Her final product isn't really yogurt, it's curds. Yogurt still has some or all of the whey in it.
So we buy yogurt to make it
or you can make it from kefir grains
keep making show
I achieved this after I saw your video and gave some to my feline and they all died Professor. Finch
Very good
I thought you would show us how to use already fermented milk. That's what you stated there but you used fresh milk. MISLEADING!!!!
I lose patients with videos like this where cooking is done like a school project. Anxiety kicks in and I dont want to try the recipe anymore.

Your yogurt has no probiotics. All store bought yogurt is pasteurized and basically useless.
