    Good to see an old 7650 still in action. My old man worked for Hesston as a mechanic back in the day.

      Bob Glover if I am thinking of the right man. I remember him from working with Heston Machines in the Mid Seventies, mowers, 6400 Swathers, Foragers. Good days. We took part in a Hesston sales video. Would love to see that again.

      @@richardcantrill4513 Yes ! Spot on. I remember some of those videos, they used to be played on an odd little tv screen machine at all the shows. Unfortunately the Bob passed away Christmas eve 2022 aged 84. I met up with Roger Haynes recently, he's still running a Field Queen 7655 in Canada.

      @@Spotteroo Sorry to hear about Bob, I know you said he had been ill for sometime. I remember Roger cutting forage maize with his Self-prop Hesston, I had a ride in the Cab. That would have been circa Autumn 1973. Almost 50 years ago !

      Not sure where the 7650 came in the Heston evolution but it seems to be a field queen without the ability to carry the grass as well. The field queen needed the big wheels behind because that's where the weight of the grass was carried. As far as I remember they had a V8 Detroit Diesel engine and that was a beautiful sound.

    Why not have one that cuts?

    • @alexveldhuis6004
      @alexveldhuis6004 5 років тому

      If you want to wilt (dry to 50%)it first, you must cut, wait 24 hours, then chop. Direct cut happens, but you will have a lot of liquid.
