    Great video Dr.
Minor arithmetic error at 5.01: Although 1.17MeV is correct for 60Co.

Thanks for the video! I had been neglecting the Ba137m -> Ba137 via IC for too long :)

I have a doubt: I still don't get why a nucleii would transition into a higuer energy state rather than a ground energy state. In other words, why would a 60-27 Cobalt atom would transform into a 60-28 Nitrogen in a high energy state rather than ground energy state of Nitrogen?

I could follow the video until minute 7:00 where you started talking about the 0+ state. What does it mean? A link of a video explaining that wil do it, thanks. And btw, you are litterally saving my life with this videos mate. Im reading a nuclear physics course in my 3rd year of university and it would be a hell to follow the course without your pedagogic skills. Kepp up the good work !!

+Sam Sarwat I cover this in an earlier video. I think its ua-cam.com/video/rwdBnwznt3s/v-deo.html or the ones immediately before that in the nuclear physics playlist.

How long does it take for cobalt 60 to become nickel 60? I know half life is 5 years but when does it transform to nickel?

With regards to the three different Ni ground state values, where or how did you get the Mev numbers?

How can an excited and a ground state be 0+? I mean, according to the shell model, what is a viable distribution that would make it happen?

Thanks a lot for your very good video. As always :-)
I have two questions about the Internal Conversion :
    (1) How is transmitted the energy between the nucleus and the electron? As far as I remember all bosons have a spin of 1, so a boson cannot be created to transfert the energy for the very same reason the photon could not be created in the first place (total angulum momentum/spin). Am I missing something?
    (2) If a s1 electron is ejected from the atom, and of course in the case of an atom with more than one electron, an "electron hole" may appear and be filled by another electron of upper energy, and thus...the IC may produce a photon. Am I wrong?
Sorry for my poor English,...I'm French .
    Gwendal

Well... The higgs boson has spin 0. I dont know if I'm right but using the mass-energy equivalence principle, one could say that the excess energy in the nucleus is transferred to the electron as mass, which is then converted to kinetic energy, enough to kick it out. For your second question, you are right

⚛so, in quantum mechanics, are you saying, that an atoms? "weight-energy", ♻️ can only be "reduced~decayed" so much-many times;💥 because the energy from it, "disappears-dissipates", 💨into "nothing" (immeasurable?); becoming a "value-total" of 0?🌬🌫

I've just started my A-level and there are quite a lot of thongs in the AS course that aren't on your channel. Could you add them if you have time please? The exam board is AQA.

I love your videos but don't say things like 'millionth millionth' , say 'trillionth' or quadrillionth' and so on. That just sounds illiterate to say 'millionth millionth'. These numbers have names for themselves. If you don't know them , here , you can learn about them.
