  • Cutting is the process of removing material from a workpiece or dividing the workpiece into several smaller, distinct parts. Robotic cutting is faster than manual applications and can produce a sleeker, high quality product for the consumer. Cutting robots commonly utilize ultrasonic knives. These knives are designed to cut different types of textiles, from fabric to films.
    Ultrasonic knives can be controlled manually or through automated systems, such as robots. These knives are extremely precise, which results in less waste. Automation also significantly reduces the amount of dust and pollutants put into the air during the cutting process. Robotic cutting is becoming more common in many industries, including tire manufacturing, textiles, paper manufacturing, medical, and many more.
    A robotic cutter can save workers from breathing in hazardous toxins in what had been manual cutting applications. Robots are also able to work continuously. Continuously for long periods of time without fatigue saving the manufacturer money on labor costs.
