34046 Braunton Clags Immensely! The White Rose To York 17 April 2024

We begin at York Station on the East Coast Mainline for the arrival for Rebuilt West Country Locomotive 34046 Braunton. First we start of with a class 69, a first for me. The Oliver Bulleid designed pacific pulled in... not quite as far as I was hoping and to add insult to injury an Azuma rolled in 😂
We then see 34046 leave York for the sidings to be serviced and turned. The sun never is where you want it and when you want it, suffice to say the panning shot was dreadfully overcast 🤣
But we ended the day on a high note! With thanks to ‪@declanhargreaves2610‬ who very kindly warned me that the tour would be dragged by the disesl to Gascoigne Wood! Plans changed and instead of seeing the tour at Askham Park And Ride I booked a last minute journey to Castleford! Upon arrival I had time to explore a couple footbridges and settle on "Wood View" footbridge parallel to the A639.
But HORRORS! A freight train rolled in and due to a blockage at Castleford Station they had to stop at a signal! Thankfully it moved out of the way ready to see Braunton accelerating away and blimey indeed! What a performance!
