That happened to me. My mil hated me because she said i was too short and ugly for my husband. (Which I don't think I'm ugly). I'm short, but her son isn't that tall he's only 4" taller. . She used to try to get him to leave me and not love my kids. Long list of things shes done to me and my kids, but thats a story for May one day. Lol. I left him for 4 months and he finally realized he needs me. He came to beg me back and we moved 2000 miles away. He loves me now that we aren't around his family. After 20 years all her good nyabs don't want her. She's now living with us and my husband don't listen to her, I don't let her slide. I don't love her like I used to anymore. I don't swim oceans for her I only jump puddles for her and I put her in her place now. I'm slowly forgiving her.
Me too. My in laws didn't like me becus they didn't think I was pretty enough for my husband so they always treated me like an outsider.

@Steve Evans 😆😆 some days I want to tell her I'm sending her to the nursing home for treating me like shit before. She thought the world would never turn and she'd never need me. But one side of me says no because she did birth my husband after all. Lol.
To all the nyabs that are in a similar situation: If people hate you for no valid reasons, don't waste your time trying to figure out why they dont like you or bend over backwards to make them like you. Their perspective of you is not a reflection of who you are and your self worth. You're not the problem, they are. Just focus on you and you will get far in life with or without their son.

I keep telling my niece about this. Her current bf's family says they don't like her because of her last name. I tell her to not marry into his family. When his family doesn't like you, when your husband gets tired of you, they'll support him in leaving you. They'll even get him to leave you or not love you. You're important, not this man.
I tell my nieces the same thing. If his family don’t like u & he’s not willing to give up his family, they will do everything in their power to cause chaos/strife in ur relationship. One of my niece is currently going thru strife with her in-laws & she’s too nice to say how she really feels to them. She always bite her tongue. I told her to start having a back bone; or move her family away to another state. That way neither of them (my niece & her fiancé) can say to each other, “u do this for ur family, but not my family…” Granted, my niece went into this relationship knowing full well how psycho her in-laws r.
That’s what I told myself before I got married. To never marry someone who’s family doesn’t like me and I will not live under their roof.
Same. My mother in law doesn't like me because of my last name. She manipulated my husband to not love me. But my husband knows how his mom is , so he always rebel and never listen to her. This one time she called and told my husband to sponsor her sisters' daughter from Laos to come to the USA without consulting with me, my husband gave her a straight NO! She got hella pissed and click on my husband. I got mad and called her back to put her in her place.
Don’t blame others for your own stupidity. You can walk away anytime! If you choose to stay then don’t complain.

It's sad hmong families still act this way. Glad u left that family & found a better one for u. In reality, the Nyab's & the mother in laws need to stop this hatred behavior! I understand older generations are still very traditional, but always plan to live on your own not with your in laws. If you can’t afford to live on your own then you are not ready. Living separately will save you a lot of headaches.

I don't know why this story teller makes it seem like everyone just born yesterday. Her stories are OK, gets really annoying she always lectures the listeners like they don't know nothing. Some of the words, she just love to repeat it like she's from the 80's.
