Using Menstrual Discs With Long Nails

- With a few exceptions you should be able to insert and remove a menstrual disc with long nails. There are comfort and hygiene issues to consider - sharp nails could scratch your tissue and possibly introduce bacteria. But with practice your nails shouldn't get in the way of using a menstrual disc. Certain discs with removal aids like Lumma, Diva Disc, Hey Zomi, or Hello Disc also enable you to remove easier when you have nails.

I never even realized I was a finger & thumb loop pinch removal until you described it. 😅 I'm a very happy Hello disc user with natural long nails and a very high cervix. The loops are essential!
8:00 I have natural long nails, square, and long enough to be considered long but not acrylic long and honestly when you have long nails almost all your life you kinda find ways around to do pretty much everything. I have started to use gloves bc the blood kept staining my nails. But I absolutely need a loop to get it out with my middle and thumb finger

Loving your content! ❤ I always do a middle finger and thumb pinch because the middle is the one that reaches my longass cup best bc of my super high cervix 😅 could not do it with long nails...or perhaps they'd help giving me an extra cm or so??
Longer nails could possibly help give you a reach (someone just commented they loved long nails for this) but since the nail itself has no sense of touch that complicates how helpful it may be for you.

Hi! I have a VERY technical question. Can you scuba dive with the disc?
I know that you can’t with the cup due to the pressure under water, and the recommendation is to use a tampon. But wanted to know from an expert if the disc is suitable for diving.

Hi!! I’ve loved your channel for so many years and I have taken a lot of your advice on things! I personally have the Cora disc and I’ve been having a lot of trouble with my disc lately and I’m not sure why and was hoping you could help. I’ve been using a disc for years and have literally loved it, but the past three cycles of mine, my disc for some reason isn’t sitting properly anymore, seems to be leaking all the time or will just pop at a cough and then all of my blood goes everywhere, so sometimes it feels like I can’t get it in right and sometimes it feels like it can’t stay in the correct spot and work properly, I even bought a new Cora disc and tried a saalt disc and still the same issue. I hope you see this because I am STRESSED.
i can't get the nixit disc out because my index finger always slips off the edge.

It is possible yes. But I always pinch my inner labia while attempting to remove. Ouch

One time I had long nails and was strugglinggggg to remove a disc because it had someow rotated so the loop was nowhere to be found. And I can't do the drag out from the rim method, it just doesn't dislodge that way for me... so i was sitting there so frustrated on the verge of tears bc I couldn't find the loop and my cervix is too high for my thumb to reach all the way up there to help feel.. now I just avoid having nails around my period lmao

Hi I've a question for you, I've been using menstrual cups for years and I had tow DUI explused while taking menstrual cups off my vagina. I don't like washable protections alone, I would love to use a cup again is there models or alternatives that could not expulse a DUI ? because my OB tells me expulsion is rare but it happened to me twice already... Please help ! and thank you for your content
So it sounds like you have had issues with your IUD (not DUI, as you wrote, but as in IUD = intra uterine device and DUI = Driving Under the Influence, BTW I am dyslexic so I understand you) and thus I am wondering if you accidentally pulled the string to your IUD while removing your cup?
Maybe try to be more aware of the string to the IUD while in the process of removing your cup, I honestly hope this helps you out.
