    Chorão, also known as Choddnnem or Chodan, is an island along the Mandovi River near Tiswadi, Goa, India. It is the largest among other 17 islands of Goa. It is located 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) away from the state capital, the city of Panaji.
    Chorão is accessible by the ferry from Ribandar. Chorão village is known for its Luso-Goan churches and houses. It is also known for its bird sanctuary.[2] It is one of six major islands between the Mandovi and Zuari.
    Places to visit in Chorao Island
    1. Shri Devki Krishna Temple
    This temple is of 15th Century. Lord Krishna and mother Devaki are worshipped together at this temple the only one in all of India. The lovely Devaki and Lord Krishna idols are located in the inner sanctum of the vibrant temple. Devaki's statue is shown in the unusual attitude of holding a young Krishna in her arms while standing.

    2. St. Bartholomew's Church
    St. Bartholomew's Church is a Roman Catholic church in the Indian town of Chorao. Caraim and the Passo de Ambarim are part of the Parish of St. Bartholomeu. Jesuits built this Neo-Roman architectural landmark in 1569.

    3. Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary
    Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, a well-known spot for bird watching. It is situated on the island of Chorao in the Mandovi River and is named after a well-known ornithologist named Dr Salim Ali. A 15-minute ferry ride from the Ribandar ferry wharf near Panjim will take you to the sanctuary.
