For everyone trying to drag this performance, you clearly don't understand the point of Frankie's music. It's meant to be quick, very intimate, and almost continuous. No it's not really meant for big crowds if your focused on the crowd but if you just focus on the music you feel the same intended intimacy that you get listening to it at home alone. The songs sound similar looking at them on the surface but just like the music is intimate, you have to listen intimately to the songs to pick apart their differences. Believe me they are very different (lyrics, vocal and instrumental patterns). It's kind hard to explain if you just don't understand the aesthetic of her sound or if you don't care to look deeper. I was there and loved seeing this performance. READ THE FUCKING PITCHFORK REVIEW PLEBIANS.
A. That's not true. All of the songs aren't structured like that. B. If it was true, it's only the song structure. Which, by your logic, means for example every pop song is the same because they use generally the same structure (and I'm talking about GOOD pop music too). Not true though.
I've seen them three times now. Once, in a small venue, once front row in a bigger venue and this set. I can confirm that this really big crowd isn't their thing. They were clearly nervous. Search them out in a little environment and you'll have a blast, tho.

The magic that Gretta brings to people with her music and her performance is hard to capture but also so is live sound and it sounds like the sound person didn't' know wtf they were doing. FC usually plays smaller venues right? Therefore while touring probs wouldn't have a touring sound engineer? So this one has been supplied by the festival and isn't used to this music. This all being said TBH i think people are criticising her because she is a woman that shaved her head. Look at the comments... you're all guys. If frankie cosmos was 'frank' cosmos with a cool skin head look and a similar vibe i'd put a tenner on theres not as much shit being thrown their way. at most the comments would say, 'i like this guy, the sounds not too good in this video though'. but she is an easy target for those threatened by power of this kind. just my opinion.
