Amazing street ride. It needs more speed to keep up with the motorcycles and scooters but where they rode u had no problem following. and thats one kick ass ride P.O.V
Iam 5'11 260 LBS. Iam Amazed at the strength of that little rear wheel. You were riding on some pretty rough urban terrain and the distance and Battery life.
The rear wheel get really hot if it is not inflated properly. In fact, I believe that I've had a few punctures because the tube just melted or something. So, make sure to pump the rear tyre really hard.
tomoki w Yes, Kuala Lumpur is actually a very green and beautiful city. But going through stressful traffic sometimes takes your attention away from that fact.
I don't know, man...riding in three-lanes of car traffic seems pretty horrific to me, but I absolutely love the trip and what you're doing! The bike is amazing, and so is Kuala Lumpur. Maybe get some pepper-spray for those dogs. ;)
Sabatheus The wide angle view of the GoPro camera makes it look more dramatic than it is. I have 25 years experience of bicycling in traffic and don't feel unsafe when cycling. Safety first :-) The biggest danger is getting hit from the back by a fast car that does not see you, hence, I never go on roads with fast traffic. The next biggest danger is the road itself (pot-holes, grills, missing grills etc.), so I never ride behind a car without having a good view to the road ahead. BTW, had a wonderful ride today through KL on the Yike Bike with about 10 people giving thumbs up or striking up conversations at red traffic lights. As usual, a real positive experience and hopefully inspiring people to follow suit :-)
+SolarizeYourLife Yes, it's very easy to combine with public transport, because the Yike Bike folds up and becomes very compact, a bit like carrying a suitcase
Paula Baxter That's the smart thing about the 100% electric Yike Bike, it will not make you sweat, as you just have to press two buttons. One for the accelerator, and one for the break :-) Ideal for the hot & humid tropics!
Unfortunately, my Yike Bike needs repair and there's no longer any local support in Malaysia. So, it is just collecting dust at the moment. I miss riding it, too. Will try to write to Yike Bike again and get it repaired. That would be great :-)
+Jerry L (online12793) Yeah, cycling on the roads is legal. Strictly speaking, however, the Yike Bike is legally considered a motor bike, so you need to pay road tax and have a motor cycle license. But I have never been asked the police, who are all smiles when they see the bike :-)
This trip is from my neighbourhood, so I am quite familiar with those roads, but not with the roads in Kuala Lumpur in general, though, I have a good sense of direction, which helps
Suwan Bonma The dog darts out from the guard house on the left and blocks the road. First time around, I came with full speed, but I had to apply the breaks and jump off the bike while fending off the dog. The security came to my aid throwing stones at the dog. Eventually, I was able to pass - and without any bites. Phew!
M. Molli Yes, the Yike Bike is about USD2000, but once you have it, it's really cheap in operational costs, like just USD10 per year for 'fuel' (electricity). And parking is zero :-)
Ivan Wan Yes, the Malaysian legislation has not yet caught up. Technically, the Yike Bike is classified as a 'motor cycle' subject to road tax and the rider having a motor cycle license. I have been stopped a few times by the police - but only because they want to try riding the Yike Bike themselves ;-)
Don't go on the highway or other roads with fast traffic. In my view, the biggest risk is to be struck from the back by a fast car that has not seen you. So, choose your roads carefully. I always try to stick to roads where the traffic speed does not exceed 50 km/hour
The bike is fun but not so much fun in the city. This dude will sooner or later land himself in hospital. I'd rather walk and that is also dangerous in KL
Wow ,i really want to ride that bicycles 😍😍😍👍🏼
Yup, its good fun to ride :-)
Interesting videos! I can see you really enjoy your daily commute!
Yes :-)
look so amazing and have much fun while traveling around KL
XiaNg Ys Thanks. Made a more fast paced video of another trip through KL here. Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/tzVID8Gp9KE/v-deo.html

Love this video sooooooo much!!!
Kuala lumpur is such an amazing and lovely city...

I think I have seen you riding that bike in the Bangsar area. 2015...that sounds about right
Less than a handful of people were riding this bike on the streets of Kuala Lumpur, so good chance it was me 😊
Good job sir!
I don't know, man...riding in three-lanes of car traffic seems pretty horrific to me, but I absolutely love the trip and what you're doing!

mysustainablefuture Keep up the great work, sir. I celebrate what you're doing here.
Sabatheus Here's one more movie. Enjoy: ua-cam.com/video/tzVID8Gp9KE/v-deo.html
You are a brave dude.
Thanks, but it is not that unsafe. Really, for me, safety comes first :-)
How to charge yike bike? I have search at youtube how to charge but not found
Plug in charger. Looks like laptop charger
boss bli kat mane ni? smart la.
This is awesome sir. nice ride you got there:D
Pedestrian lane is occupied by motor cycles.
Yes, the result of fight for space & lack of enforcement
That small wheel behind doesn't look like it can go over small potholes.
It is surprisingly good at going over potholes. Smaller potholes :-)
i went there last December mounting my action cam with me. People were so exited what was this small camera in me!!!
Driving thru KL traffic with that- one need balls!
Alexandre Jorge Luckily I'm of the right gender to fulfill that criteria ;-)
+Alexandre Jorge Try this in Bangkok, you'll not survive rough road. :P You need bigger tire. Not to mention lots of crazy drivers.
I'd get one if it wasn't too expensive (ouch ringgit decline). How long does it take to charge the battery to full?
+Patrick Lee A full charge takes 50 minutes. And will only cost you USD0.03 (i.e. 3 cents). Cheap!
how speed and weight that bike
23 km/h and 10 kg
@@mysustainablefuture this is very slow, you should buy scooter electric which is can achieve 40mph speed,
@@takrelanakhidup180 A bit slow, but very fun to ride. And a real head-turner :-)
which year was this video?
roughly can recognise the neighbourhood.
***** May 2015, Kuala Lumpur
is this bike the price cheap than your brompton?
About 50% more expensive
@@mysustainablefuture How long to charge? and how far it can go?
@@takrelanakhidup180 50 min charge. About 10 km range. New model goes further
Have you used bike with bus/train/monorail? How easy is it?
+SolarizeYourLife Yes, it's very easy to combine with public transport, because the Yike Bike folds up and becomes very compact, a bit like carrying a suitcase
you should go for a ride on the evenings or mornings bc it looks so hot here
Paula Baxter That's the smart thing about the 100% electric Yike Bike, it will not make you sweat, as you just have to press two buttons. One for the accelerator, and one for the break :-) Ideal for the hot & humid tropics!
+World Heritage Site Video Gallery
Not that illegal. But there have no Laws and regulations talk about electric bikes.
haha that looks cool!
What happen to the Yike Bike?
I know, your having to much fun on the Brompton.
Unfortunately, my Yike Bike needs repair and there's no longer any local support in Malaysia. So, it is just collecting dust at the moment. I miss riding it, too. Will try to write to Yike Bike again and get it repaired. That would be great :-)
Any update sir? Missed to see yike bike in kl
UniKL! Thats my University. But, Im at another campuss.
Is it legal to ride around the road like what you did?
Will the cops pull you over and fine you?
+Jerry L (online12793) Yeah, cycling on the roads is legal. Strictly speaking, however, the Yike Bike is legally considered a motor bike, so you need to pay road tax and have a motor cycle license. But I have never been asked the police, who are all smiles when they see the bike :-)
Are you Lecturer at UniKL?
Yes, I'm a part time lecturer at University of Kuala Lumpur
You probably know kl roads better than me. For me I need to waze or I'll be lost 😁
This trip is from my neighbourhood, so I am quite familiar with those roads, but not with the roads in Kuala Lumpur in general, though, I have a good sense of direction, which helps
Nice Movie, 16:45 should have drive faster instead, no?

Amazing! It's just the price, far too expensive.

@@The_Conspiracy_Analyst Yes, they sadly really hiked up the prices.
Much prefer the Brompton
Me, too, as I like the exercise. Going 100% electric makes you a bit sloppy....
hi have ever been caught by police or been asking before
Yes, I've been stopped by the police before, but only because they want to try to ride the Yike Bike ;-)
Horror & Action movie
Not sure about the horror, but action "yes"
Chevere la moto/bici, no recomiendo el modo de conducción del señor.
Well, this machine is illegal on the road in Malaysia.

Wow! Amazing and unique footage. I love the way this video was filmed and edited. I upload GoPro videos as well. Mind checking it out?
Yikes! It looks too slow... I guess the max speed is less than 40km/h.
Tunku Badlishah It's bicycle speed. Max. speed is 23 km/h
mysustainablefuture Can you ride it in highway like LDP? But I'm not sure at 23km/h, you survive in high speed highway...
