2:42 yes we do not celebrate Vishnu's birthday because god is omnipresent and omnipotent throughout time and space. That's why he is god😂 Still We celebrate the Birth of Vishnu's avatar Krishna during Janmashtami. Krishna and Vishnu are fundamentally the same. Infact during Mahabharata he revealed his true form where Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesha and everything that exists and beyond existence is Krishna:)

Hinduism is such an interesting religion. It shares so much with old European religions. Thor and Indra are basically the same deity. Both Indra and Thor are storm gods, with powers over lightning and thunder, both carry a hammer or an equivalent, for both the weapon returns to their hand after they hurl it, both are associated with bulls, both use thunder as a battle-cry, both are protectors of mankind, both are described with legends about "milking the cloud-cows", both are benevolent giants, gods of strength, of life, of marriage and the healing gods. They also both defeat a serpent thing.
But also Agni the fire god. Ogni or a variant is still the word for fire in Slavic languages (Eastern Europe), meaning the word or name must be at least 5000 years old and have the same root.
We have so much in common that we don't know.

It's been theorized that there is a connection between Abrahamic religions and Hinduism as well. "Abraham" sounds a bit similar to "Brahma". "Sarai/Sara" was the wife of Abraham. The wife of Brahma was "Saraswati"

@diablohorer Possible, but Abraham's first god was Sín/Nanna, the Mesopotamian/Akkadian god of the moon. Ur and Harran were both the main cult centres of this god and Sarai is named after the partner of Sín, as are many other family members.
"Terah means “Ter (the divine) brother (or protector, Heb. ‘ah), Ter being a dialectal variant of shr, a South Arabic term for the moon” (Hamilton 363). Others in his family also have names that are etymologically associated with the moon. “Sarai (Sarah) is the equivalent of sarratu “queen” an Akkadian translation of a Ningal, the female partner of the moon-god Sin. Laban means “the white one”, a poetic term for the full moon”"
Sarai was likely a Naditu. It was not that she couldn't get children, it was that she wasn't allowed to. What we know of the Naditu perfectly fits Sarai :
"The term nadītu is a feminine noun derived from Akkadian nadû, "to throw down", "to cast away" or in agricultural context "to leave a field fallow", and on this basis it has been proposed it can be translated as "fallow", here to be understood metaphorically as "barren woman". It could be represented by the Sumerogram LUKUR, which originally designated a type of priestess possibly regarded as the "junior wife" of a god she served. Nadītu are also often described as priestesses in modern Assyriological literature, but this designation is not universally accepted, as while they most likely did spend a part of their day on prayer, there is no other indication that they had religious duties, and they did not prepare religious festivals or maintain temples, which lead to proposals that referring to them as a distinct social class might be preferable to classifying them as a subgroup of clergy. They were dedicated to the god of a specific city, and were expected to reside in it...
... In contrast with their peers dedicated to Shamash, the nadītu in his service did not live in seclusion and were permitted to marry, though they similarly were not allowed to have children. However, they could adopt the children of a secondary wife or servant of their husband."
In the geopolitical situation it makes sense Abram and Sarai fled from Mesopotamia. The king Naram-Sin declared himself the highest god and started demolishing temples of other gods, and according to the stories he was punished for it with famine, droughts, and the Gutians invading the land :
149-175 Enlil, the roaring (?) storm that subjugates the entire land, the rising deluge that cannot be confronted, was considering what should be destroyed in return for the wrecking of his beloved E-kur. He lifted his gaze towards the Gubin mountains, and made all the inhabitants of the broad mountain ranges descend (?). Enlil brought out of the mountains those who do not resemble other people, who are not reckoned as part of the Land, the Gutians, an unbridled people, with human intelligence but canine instincts and monkeys' features. Like small birds they swooped on the ground in great flocks. Because of Enlil, they stretched their arms out across the plain like a net for animals. Nothing escaped their clutches, no one left their grasp. Messengers no longer travelled the highways, the courier's boat no longer passed along the rivers. The Gutians drove the trusty (?) goats of Enlil out of their folds and compelled their herdsmen to follow them, they drove the cows out of their pens and compelled their cowherds to follow them. Prisoners manned the watch. Brigands occupied the highways. The doors of the city gates of the Land lay dislodged in mud, and all the foreign lands uttered bitter cries from the walls of their cities. They established gardens for themselves within the cities, and not as usual on the wide plain outside. As if it had been before the time when cities were built and founded, the large arable tracts yielded no grain, the inundated tracts yielded no fish, the irrigated orchards yielded no syrup or wine, the thick clouds (?) did not rain, the macgurum plant did not grow.
176-192 In those days, oil for one shekel was only half a litre, grain for one shekel was only half a litre, wool for one shekel was only one mina, fish for one shekel filled only one ban measure - these sold at such prices in the markets of the cities! Those who lay down on the roof, died on the roof; those who lay down in the house were not buried. People were flailing at themselves from hunger. By the Ki-ur, Enlil's great place, dogs were packed together in the silent streets; if two men walked there they would be devoured by them, and if three men walked there they would be devoured by them. Noses were punched (?), heads were smashed (?), noses (?) were piled up, heads were sown like seeds. Honest people were confounded with traitors, heroes lay dead on top of heroes, the blood of traitors ran upon the blood of honest men.
193-209 At that time, Enlil rebuilt his great sanctuaries into small reed (?) sanctuaries and from east to west he reduced their storehouses. The old women who survived those days, the old men who survived those days and the chief lamentation singer who survived those years set up seven balaj drums, as if they stood at the horizon, and together with drums made them resound to Enlil like Ickur for seven days and seven nights. The old women did not restrain the cry "Alas for my city!". The old men did not restrain the cry "Alas for its people!". The lamentation singer did not restrain the cry "Alas for the E-kur!". Its young women did not restrain from tearing their hair. Its young men did not restrain from sharpening their knives. Their laments were as if Enlil's ancestors were performing a lament in the awe-inspiring Holy Mound by the holy knees of Enlil. Because of this, Enlil entered his holy bedchamber and lay down fasting.
210-221 At that time, Suen (Sín), Enki, Inana, Ninurta, Ickur, Utu, Nuska, and Nisaba, the great gods cooled Enlil's heart with cool water and prayed to him: "Enlil, may the city that destroyed your city, be treated as your city has been treated! May the one that defiled your giguna, be treated as Nibru! In this city, may heads fill the wells! May no one find his acquaintances there, may brother not recognize brother! May its young woman be cruelly killed in her woman's domain, may its old man cry in distress for his slain wife! May its pigeons moan on their window ledges, may its small birds be smitten in their nooks, may it live in constant anxiety like a timid pigeon!"
So I personally think there is a historical basis for the Abraham story and they might've thought the Gods of the land abandoned them. So he created a group of like minded people to move to other lands. He ended up in Canaan, which was El's domain so he started worshipping him.

American Christians believe God and Jesus are sacred too, the culture though is Freedom of Speech so people are less likely to take personal offense over words, especially when the words are meant to be uplifting and funny, not hurtful.
Context is way more important in America when it comes to offensive things.

@@shane-him now, see. That joke is ill informed and unfunny, but not mean spirited. The point of comedy is to bring lightness to serious issues, that’s why Christian conservative comedy can never be funny. It’s not designed to make light of anything, it’s designed to be just as mean spirited as it can possibly be. Christian conservative comedy is like if someone dumbed down Carlos Mencia.
