For the Leica Pana 15mm, Vivitar has an adapter just like the Panasonic adapter. You need a step-down from 52mm to 46mm to make it work, but it definitely converts that 15mm (30 effective) to a 12mm (24mm) or better.
Great Video as always... I have a question: What lens should i use for green screen ? i can't key it correctly because of the depth of field.. my phone looks better!!
Ok, I'll preface this by saying I'm not a green screen expert, but typically keying properly requires having a VERY evenly lit green screen where there aren't shadows or lines which is really hard to do. Once you do that, then you want your lens aperture closed down (so higher numbers) so you get more in focus. Your phone has a small sensor so there's naturally more in focus. Try taking whatever lens you have (kit should be fine) and stepping it down to like f/11. But the problem here is going to be that you need a TON of light on you the subject if you're down all that way. It's tricky but I'd search for a video specific on green screens. I don't think you'll need a special lens.
To be honest, I don't even have a camera right now but I love watching your videos I hope one day I'll be able to buy one in the near future. It is really a hustle to buy a camera in Africa. It is worth months of salary.
The Sony 20mm 1.8 is the popular Sony wide angle wide right....but I 100% agree 17-28mm lives on my camera! I have been so tempted by the ZV-1 you will need to update me how you like it once you had it for a while
Have 😀the Sony A6400 with Sigma trio, but they aren't stabilized..bidding for an Olympus with a 12-40mm f2.8 pro soon so I can run and gun and not have shaky footage. Thanks for video All the best from Australia Marty
The Tamron FE 17-28 f2.8 is such a bad ass lens!!! My favorite wide angle lens for my A7SIII period. I have the RF 15-35mm f2.8 for Canon R5 and for some reason just don’t like it. For video it is fine but sucks for photography. Also own the LUMIX 15mm f1.7 for my GH5. Such a great lens.
LOL I wish I would have put more thought into lenses before I bought my EOS R 6 months ago. I'm relatively new to the camera scene, and I thought I'd for sure be able to get a 2.8 wide angle stabilized zoom for around $1,000 or even less for 3rd party... I now realize that doesn't exist and I'm stuck with a camera body that I can't afford to buy lenses for, hahaha. I have also since learned that having a camera without IBIS really narrows down the lens choices for video. It would open up so many possibilities for me to be able to use non-stabilized zooms and primes! I'm thinking I'm going to have to settle for the EF 16-35 f/4 IS for now, but I HATE how long that lens becomes with the adapter. Seems weird vlogging with such a physically long lens on my camera! I really can't wait until Sony comes out with a cheaper A7S3. Something that handles low light just as well, without all of the super high end codecs and other professional features. I've already decided I am a sony person....just gotta wait till they make a camera I can afford.
Yeah I hear ya. I had the 16-35 f/4 on my R and it was very unbalanced with the adapter. Footage looked amazing! But handling wasn’t great. Having to spend $3,000 on the 15-35 sucks.
Hi Justin, I just got a Canon M50 Mark ii can you recommend a good lens for wide-angle I did get a Sigma 16mm F1.4 but the lens didn't fit my camera I really wanted something like that but don't know which sigma to get that will fit my camera M50 MARK TWO. Please help I need the best lens for around same price as the Sigma 16MM F1.4 thanks Gareth
Hey Gareth, you just need to find the EF-M version of the Sigma 16mm. You likely got the Sony E mount or Micro Four Thirds version. I'm not sure where you are in the world, but this link *should* take you to the EF-M version: geni.us/JRS16EFM You could also look at the Canon 11-22mm f/4-5.6 but it's definitely not as cinematic or good in low light as the Sigma, but it does get a chunk wider: geni.us/JRC1122
Oh I had the complete opposite experience hah! Loved the 15 and didn’t enjoy the 12mm for video at all - felt like it really struggled to focus and it was a lot of cake! But they could’ve solved a lot of that with firmware the last couple years.
@@JustinReves lol I had the 12 for a very short period. Returned it but I kinda regret it now. Shoulda used it more. 15 been sold it. I'm sure the 12 on the olympus would focus nice. Ya think ?
Love it when people are talking bad about certain systems, but at the same time show a camerasystem in front of them that died and which will never recover to its glory days. Made your video useless. But to each his own of course.
@@JustinReves I have a Lumix G7 with kit lens, and the Canon M50 MKII with kit lens. I also have a vintage Olympus 50mm (with adapter for both bodies) for shooting live music performance stuff, and the 7artisans 7.5mm (for the Lumix G7 mount, as it's manual focus, I figured getting it for the Canon M50 MKII would be pointless, as I couldn't use the autofocus, anyway). I like the 7artisans a lot. Just looking for some decently-wide lenses that won't completely bankrupt my poor ass haha. Thanks Justin!
@@DopamineOverload Hmmm, well I’m a huge fan of the M50 so if it were me and I wanted to vlog, I’d consider finding the 11-22mm even used if I had to. That combo was just so easy to make content with. I found MFT lenses for Panasonic and Olympus were more expensive. Not much cheap and wide unless you do manual focus.
@@JustinReves Def. Yeah, that M50 is a really nice camera. LOVE the DPAF. It's insane how well it works. 11-22? Cool. I so wish the damn M to EF adapter wasn't so expensive... the EF lenses are some of the cheapest to grab. True, about nothing cheap/wide unless manual focus (like the 7artisans). Meh. Thanks, man!
Great info, Justin. It’s nice to see you posting regularly again
Wow man 🖤 unique but important content
Thank you!

Oh good catch! Yes, for me if I could only have one lens, it'd be that one: geni.us/JR1235
Having owned the Fuji XT4 I used the 24mm 1.4 Viltrox and the autofocus is better on that then any of the Fuji lenses.
