    I like how the boss indicates where you should cut when she points at it with a stick.
    Reminds me of my grandson.🙂

    Been growing peppers since I was nine. With my grandfather, and he never did this. So I never knew about it. Did not know you could do that I just been starting new pepper plans every year

      Thanks! I don't even remember where I originally heard about it. I think a friend of mine in Florida told me about pepper plants that stay outside and kept growing and it sent me down a rabbit hole

      @@libertyhomestead Nice! Yeah, I had no idea but I love the concept! Need to try it next season. We're already frozen here in northeast Wisconsin... 👌🏼🤓

    Depending on the size of your pots, you can overwinter 2 to 3 plants per pot. Put each rootball in a Walmart or Dollar Store bag with dirt and set the bags next to each other in the pot. Fill the pot with dirt to the tops of the football's, then make sure the tops of the bags are open and folded back. Continue filling the pot with dirt, and then prune and store like you said. The bags make separating the rootballs much easier when resetting next spring. Love the content. Keep it up, and give LT a big hug for helping Momma.

      Not a bad idea! I'm out of pots and still have a couple more plants, so I might try that

    Great video! I may not be a gardener but it's informative and liberty baby adds to the cuteness factor.

    That is the hard part for me Ms LD. Pruning back those beautiful healthy branches... but like roses... it's for their own good, (that is what I tell myself), hahaha.

      I didn't prune my tomatoes for that reason...and boy did I regret it. Will definitely be pruning next year!

    I heard that tomatoes and potatoes are nearly the same plant and you can graft the two together to make a topatoe plant. That could be a cool trick to try.

    • @libertyhomestead
      @libertyhomestead  Рік тому +2

      That would indeed be interesting...I also learned this summer that there are tomatoes designated as "potato leaf" tomatoes

  • @rebeltaz123
    @rebeltaz123 Рік тому +1

    That is really interesting! I'm wondering if you couldn't just keep them in the pots all year round? I would think it'd be less stressful for the roots, no?

    • @libertyhomestead
      @libertyhomestead  Рік тому +2

      You could! I grew some in pots and some in big totes last year. The ones in pots I didn't repot. Should have kept track of which was which to see if it made a difference
