    This may be the most difficult time to watch a show so full of optimism, so articulate, so full of hope for what was possible that they called it a fantasy.

    "Sometimes I call my wife Dr. Bartlett" I love these glimpses behind the curtain to the Bartlett marriage. You just know Jed and Abby get freaky lol it's like a running gag

    Indonesian here. Been a fan for ages, and that 'Bambang-Batak-Portugese scene has been bothering for years. Fact is, there most certainly is an INDONESIAN LANGUAGE. It's called Bahasa Indonesia, and it's derived from Bahasa Melayu. Yes, there are hundreds of different languages from the thousands of islands here, but Bahasa Indonesia is one of the things that unites us. Plus, Bambang is a Javanese name, not a Batak one. Thanks!

      I imagine the confusion on the writers part is similar to the Philippines or India where Tagalog and Hindustani are the most prevalent languages in their respective countries but it's often taught in the west that there's so many regional languages that there's no official language (even if there obviously has to be to get any coordination done).

    So cute how much Donna tries to set Josh up with (Marlee,) while so devoted to and in love with him

    • @thomash.schwed3662
      @thomash.schwed3662 Місяць тому +2

      As Janel Maloney herself has said, Donna was in love with Josh since that first meeting in the campaign office in New Hampshire. With that as the basis, it’s clear that the things Donna did throughout the series were done in order to help Josh get out of his own way and realize that it was mutual. That it took eight years (in the storyline) demonstrates true patience.

      Indeed! From Jed asking Katie for a cigarette on Air Force One to the non-existent secret plan to fight inflation, I would feel for anyone having to conduct that news briefing. Yet, the fact that it was Josh makes it all the more enjoyable, particularly given how he would improve in his relationship with the press by the time he ran Santos’ campaign-as noted by the polling discussion on the flight during the California primary with many of the same reporters.

    I'm sorry, but "The best of..." and it doesn't contain Mrs Landingham talking about her sons (In Excelsis Deo)? Or the Rosslyn scene from "What Kind Of Day Has It Been"? Or the Jed and Leo scene from "Let Bartlet Be Bartlet"?. This compilation should be called Some Great Scenes from Season 1...

    Yeah ‘best of…’ and any scene with Mandy…doesn’t quite compute…
    Having said that…I have to say, Moira Kelly has one hell of a throat. It ripples when she talks…like a body builder…
    27:30 the punk-asses at the bar born in 1975 sound like they were born in 1955. Come on, writers room…do better…Can we agree this scene is just a little ridiculous…?
    (To say nothing of the fact that Zoey acted like she was in a Superman II force field. Hey dipshit…Duck your shoulder under the guy and get away…)
    And Charlie “you don’t know who this is” is going to convince LOTS of punkasses to back off…good move….
    And the scene where Sam meets ‘Brittany’ always rubbed me the wrong way. It didn’t occur to her that she might run into Sam at a state dinner?
