4:04 , Taking the Laboratory Test machines into picture, once the company has purchased the product, the owner has every right to modify it according to their needs. The draw back of this is the owner loses warranty or any after repairs/ services because he had done something to the machine by himself. But that’s okay with the owner.
So he wants to cut down the price for the reagents. So he took his own decision. That’s the right to repair policy implemented in the states.
The company has to find out a way to redesign the cartridge. It’s not a crime done by the user. There is no rule that you must use only company manufactured parts.
Same goes with apple devices too. All the parts are serial linked to the motherboard. So if you replace the display, the automatic brightness or Face ID won’t work.
This is totally controlling the customers.
Then came the right to repair Act. Hopefully they implement it in India too.
You are right about right to repair and but most lab machines are deeply discounted leases unlike Printers (where we buy them to own)in the hope that the original manufacturer will make money via reagents for long time, so the rights will be usage without invading the machines internals.
