Because it's hard to hold a phone and separate controller at the same time. Or people want it portable and not have to stand their phone or tablet up on a surface. Three times the price does seem high, but there's definitely a market for it. I'd love to use this with my smaller Android tablet. The main reason I don't play games on my tablet more is having to prop it up and use a separate controller.
The guy is completely right, for that price it is ABSURD. With this high price, I would invest in a Nintendo Switch, or another portable console, which are the best on the market. Buying a controller just to play a few good mobile games doesn't make much sense... because the rest 80% are no good.@@DCGX
@@NasciGoor isn't that part of the point though? For people that only play a few mobile games or touch based games, this doesn't make sense. But that's not who this product is for. This is for people that play a lot of console like games on their phone or tablets. And I agreed the price is too high. Especially in Canada.
Hey man I remember watching you when I was a kid through ep and review on the run with Tommy tallarico you guys were great together good chemistry glad to see your still doing it another channel I can finally watch again
Before I ended up getting the Backbone One v2, I was looking at a very similar controller to this Razer called the ELO Vagabond. That thing looks amazing, but it’s been stuck in some kind of Kickstarter development for months / years, and whether it ever sees the light of day is questionable. I’m super happy to see that Razer is continuing to put out these devices because I think it’s a really cool hardware segment. This probably would’ve got my dollars a few months ago if it had been available when I was looking.
Based on what you said,i n my opinion the biggest use/benefit/value that this device has it that you can use it as a PC controller (generally if you don't already have one), while _also_ being able to use it with mobiles. Maybe other mobile controllers have that. If it wasn't for that it seems like an excessively-pricey luxury that most people couldn't really afford. It's still a pricey luxury that most people probably wouldn't/couldn't get, but it makes it much more reasonable cost-wise for PC gamers that need a new controller or don't have one yet.
It’s the flexibility, the build quality, the haptics, the RGB lighting, the materials and the Razer brand that set this price where it’s at. They make cool, pricey things. This is akin to the DualSense Edge for mobile players. It’s exceedingly comfortable. I literally forgot I was playing on my phone.
You tried with the free Delta emulator app on your iPhone with the Razer Kishi controller? If you have, how is it and is all buttons programmable to suit the Nintendo handheld/console control?
Nice work on this review Vic. Your production values and obvious care you put into everything you do really stands out. You’re one of my favourite gaming reviewers, but Metal Jesus is nipping at your heels, so don’t let off the throttle. 🏆💰
Just purchased this. Is using the virtual controller the only way to use the PS Remote play app on this. If so, that sucks. Really don't want to pay for the PS Play app
I'm a massive fan of my switch but for some reason using my iPhone to play games does not excite me whatsoever . Seems really redundant for some reason .
Wait the Kishi ultra supports the remote play app now? That's a new one last I checked only the backbone did that also I love how sexy the razer Kishi ultra looks it's not too pricey but I think I'll stick with my equally awesome Kishi v2 😁
Waaaay to overpriced. I got the Gamesir G8 which is not only significantly cheaper but also has better buttons and controls. I got the second Kishi and it feels like garbage compared to the Gamesir.

I came here from a Reddit Thread because I remembered my childhood with G4TV.. Dope to see you still doing reviews.
Thanks for coming! Check out some other vids and if you dig our stuff help spread the word! ❤️
A normal controller costs 60 bucks usually… so why does this cost almost 3x as much? Pass for me until they drop the price, that’s ridiculous.

@blake3120 This control is very reminiscent of the edges of my BSP D8 which costs 7 times less and delivers current things.

Hi Vic, thanks for the review! Was great to see you in Calgary!

Great review, as always. This looks great, especially after you reminded me of the games I could play from my Netflix.

How are you getting Triple AAA games on your cell phone?
Game pass
And just like that razer surprised me and sneak attacked me all at the same time I truly did not see this coming 🤣

Does the PS Remote Play app cost something now? It was free when I downloaded it.
Want one of these for game pass cloud gaming but cannot justify the 150 quid price tag
It works with a case that’s huge
Like the fact it can be used with other devices. Not just phones.

At 200 canadian I'll just save up another 200 and get a steamdeck

IPhone and gaming, I'm still trying to come to term with that.
Razer always makes premium stuff, this looks good.
omg over 230$ with tax for a basic mobile controller? thats criminal.
It looks like a slick device and you made an awesome review, but I honestly have no interest in this device (especially with the price)
Not all games are made to be used with these controllers though.
Looks a lot like the elo vagabond coming soon
Yeah, it's "coming soon" for quite a while now, I would get the GameSir G8 Galileo instead.
Ultra price
Good luck somebody going to spend $200 on that!😂. Wait for a price drop. But interesting though.
the price is absolutely bummer..
