How to create a sloped wall using a simple in-place mass. This example uses just two lines the "Create Form" tool and is the fastest technique for putting sloped walls into a Revit model.

I think I owe you a beer. I just upped your views by about 20,000 as I have now watched this so many times because things aren't as easy in Revit as they probably could be. Thank you.

Thanks for posting this! One problem - At the step at 1:33 where you move the second rail along the horizontal plane, Revit won't let me do it! I can only move the rails vertically. What do I do?

but what it I want the upper part of my wall to be over some distance to the underside of the slab? I tried to align everything but that doesn't seem to work and just pushes everything over by the same distance

Thanks for the video it is very comprehensive. One question for you though: what if you want to create a sloped wall that is not from level to level? That second line that you copied to your 2nd floor I want to place it to an intermediary level. To describe my dilemma, I have two concrete roofs at two different level of an outside staircase, now I want to join these two concrete roofs with a sloped wall like you did between your two levels. The thing is none of these two roofs have a level attached to them and it would seem odd that you have to create a level for each element that is parallel to the original "true" levels. I have created a work plane for each of these two roofs but Revit does not allow to pick a work plane only levels and to complicate the matter the align command does not work either when I pick the top surface of my sloped wall and try to align it with the higher concrete roof. I am a debutant so I am sure a simple solution is out there but I am yet to find it :-) and I love Revit so far but I find frustrating that you can sometimes spend hours trying different methods that should work to reach the same goal and the software only seems to allow one of these methods.

Been a year... but if u create a intermidiate level temporarly just to create your sloped wall, would that work? A to B is the original, you create level C. So it does A to C and then C to B.

Been 2 years... But can't you just make a section or use the elevation to draw your line wherever you want? (To have Revit place the line in the correct plane, create vertical reference planes in the floorplan first)

hello, i just wanted to ask you what tools in revit it takes to do some of the projects , of zaha hadid for example..you have seen her organic work , or calatarava's train station works, i cant comprehend where to start and how revit would handle things like that..simply because i have not seen such revit DEMO on youtube! so just try to answer to your best and hopefully upload some DEMO..coz then we gonna learn every thing involved in such DEMO if its made for educational ...!
