Hi, first of all, your tutorials are really great and I have equipped my Fire TV Cube with the Wolf Launcher according to your instructions. Unfortunately, I have the problem that when I press the Home button on the Fire TV Cube remote control, I end up with the original launcher from Amazon. So I followed your tutorial step by step and when I go into launcher options and click on enable custom launcher it just says current launcher kftv launcher stock launcher I don't know why it won't enable the wolf launcher. Any help would be greatly appreciated
That transparent apps you have in the settings section you have is that available for Chromecast with Google TV? Also I have installed some widgets. Do I have to move them to the widgets section because I am not getting any widgets showing up. Is there something special I have to do?
Hey TDUK love your videos. After I hit the enable custom button my screen never changes from the stock launcher screen and I never got the ADB screen option. I actually get 3 options when I open Launcher Manager to enable, disable and change the custom screen. I'm using Launcher Manager Ver 1.0.7. on Fire Stick 4K Max. I've restarted, cleared Data & Cache, and even uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple times. How do I get it to change to Wolf Launcher and stop saying KFTV Launcher "Stock Launcher"?

@@TechDoctorUK looks like some widgets work And some don't. The weather widget says it is no longer compatible and downloading the one from Amazon doesn't have widgets. The chrome and vlc widgets add just fine.

Do widgets work for Chrome Cast for Google TV? I get a Widget Bind Failure screen with three read "FAILED" notifications. It tells me to manually enable widgets by using the adb shell. Is this possible?
Tech Doc, thank you especially for the fire, settings, and wallpaper, widgets do not work so well. Here is my issue and I cannot see where the settings are for this. When I hit the home key or Fire goes to sleep and comes back, the system reverts back to the normal launcher. This did not occur in the previous vewrsion. What do I have set to make this function correctly so home key inside of Wolf Launcher? THX
I believe I found the answer. The system reset itself and I had to go back into launcher manager and set it back to Wolf. After this system required a hard boot. Thank you for this update I bought a MAX on sale. MAX has easier access to external storage. We live in Canada and the unit is my wife's. She now has CBC and BBC along with Cinema fully functional and a happy wife!!!!!

Ron, I installed it on the internal drive it did open but one needs to enter commands which I have no clue where to put in those commands. On the other hand do you know of a weather app that it’s just a plug and play? I’m using the custom launcher. Please advise.
Thanks for your work for the FTV community. I've had this enabled for a while. I assume to ensure that Amazon doesn't introduce a new OS version which disables the capabilities to have a custom launcher, I block OTA updates. However, now, Prime Video doesn't work. Is there any workaround except to allow the OS to update? Seems like Prime Video is tied directly to the OS. Thanks. (Perhaps a workaround is to have a stick dedicated for Prime Video and just move to that stick for Prime Video...)
Thanks. Needed this today after updating the Shield OS and getting a black screen. I had to use the Shield app on Android first, so that I could disable the custom launcher via the Launcher Manager app. All good after reinstalling Wolf Launcher :) Booting into Safe Mode did not work (still got a black screen).
Hey I ran into an issue, I was reconfiguring the size of my apps and now the reconfig screen with all the sizes and what not is just blue and blank totally. Im unable to change the sizes of any section now. Any recommendations?
Hey Tehdoc, I have a question, I have fire tv (fire os built on tv itself, not stick or box) and when I install wolf tv I cannot switch between outputs etc, it does not give me any icon or shortcut to switch outputs. How do I manage this with custom launcher, haven't found any that shows the output switching options.
Love this content, and you did a great job with this launcher. I found a bug. If you add sections then edit a section, exiting settings then re-enter to edit section settings again and it's blank....you can't Show/Hide the title, hide the section, change orientation or anything. Exit the re-enter Wolf; still nothing. I have to force close the app then reenter. Annoying.
This is a general question on MiXplorer I have a 32 gig external drive why don’t it show up? I have it set to download app to it. When I try to get to the wallpaper I can’t install it on the Lancher app. Please advise thank you

I have the following issues: 1. Yowindow weather not working, and original appstore not working. And solutions? Thanks.
I finally uninstalled Yowindow from this guide, and installed it from the original App Store. Also, I decided not to use wolf launcher, since it seemed buggy and not that pretty looking. Maybe that was an issue on my side. The ads/layout on the original Firestick are not so bad/annoying in the end.
Hi, I downloaded the YoWindow widge and launched the app as you instructed too before It worked successfully, but it isn't showing up in the widget box so I can enable to the home screen. I'm on the Nvidia shield android system. Help wanted on trying to figure out this issue.

Nice tutorial, however, that specific wallpaper will not download onto my Mecool KM2 device. Weather widget won't work properly also. Works on fire devices, but haven't tried on the Shield yet .....
How do you make gaps between sections so it looks cleaner. Also if u dont want widgets putting your favorite categories filling the screen. Thanks for video #wolf

I followed your tutorial for wolf launcher and now my screen is black. I can only get Netflix. How do I fix this as the remote and mouse do not work with system except to use Netflix. Please help. Use your voice and say “open settings” you can then go to apps -- launcher manager -- open You can the enable stock launcher again. The issue you describe (tiles not showing is normally fixed with a restart )
Hi Doc first thanks for making this video it's just what I needed. I have followed what you have said but when I got to the point where I had to open the yo window weather app it just didn't open. I downloaded it again from your sight but it still wouldn't open. I then tried downloading it from the Amazon store and that one did open. The problem I've got now is the home location is completely wrong and I can't find a way to change the location to where I am. Please can you help?
#Wolf thank you. I have a New Sony Bravia that came with Google TV, switched it over to Amazon Fire TV Max on setup. I have done what you say in this video now on startup the tv goes to the Google TV Home Screen. It will not respond to the Amazon remote, have to press the TV button on the Sony remote, then it goes to this screen. In Launcher options I do have it set to Wolf. Any suggestions?

Wolf launcher is definitely my favourite. Had loads of boxes with terrible launchers that can't be changed for dead apps.

There is an app on his website called launch on boot that boots the launcher automatically. Try that.

When you add apps to the custom sections it automatically creates the gap. You can adjust the tile size as shown in the video
Hello Techdoctor UK. I have followed your tech for years. Awesome. This one has gone wrong. All my apps are on my Nvidia Shield internal drive. I stream through apps. I followed your tutorial for wolf launcher and now my screen is black. I can only get Netflix. How do I fix this as the remote and mouse do not work with system except to use Netflix. Please help. Thanks Will
Use your voice and say “open settings” you can then go to apps -- launcher manager -- open
You can the enable stock launcher again. The issue you describe (tiles not showing is normally fixed with a restart )

Hi Doc first thanks for making this video it's just what I needed.
I have followed what you have said but when I got to the point where I had to open the yo window weather app it just didn't open. I downloaded it again from your sight but it still wouldn't open. I then tried downloading it from the Amazon store and that one did open. The problem I've got now is the home location is completely wrong and I can't find a way to change the location to where I am.
Please can you help?

I cannot get Wolf launcher to stay. When I hit the home key it goes to the firestick launcher. What am I doing wrong?
#Wolf thank you. I have a New Sony Bravia that came with Google TV, switched it over to Amazon Fire TV Max on setup. I have done what you say in this video now on startup the tv goes to the Google TV Home Screen. It will not respond to the Amazon remote, have to press the TV button on the Sony remote, then it goes to this screen. In Launcher options I do have it set to Wolf. Any suggestions?

Hum, can’t install Yowindow on my Firestick Max. Says it’s not compatible and need to download it from Google Play Store. Any suggestions? I’m not used to android! Thanks in advance
