You need to do research. Study in-demand course in the right province. In the end of 2022, 51% (approx 412k) of Canada's international students are in Ontario, fighting for jobs and housing. Think twice before coming to Ontario.

In Canada, you need to pay income taxes. Tax bracket based on your income level. During annual income tax filing, you can claim back 15% of tuition tax credit. Say 8 months part-time and 4 months full time; you need to earn about $28 per hour for $39k gross income.
If you can't increase your hourly wages, then you need to increase your hours. There are two ways:
1) Work full-time on-campus while studying; and work 20 hrs a week part-time off-campus while studying. There is no hour limit for on-campus work.
2) Work remotely for an employer outside of Canada; and work 20 hrs a week part-time off-campus while studying.

@@shirohige018 On-campus work means that you are working for either your school or its sub-contractor in the following types of work: school cafeteria, bookstores, library, gym, swimming pool, career center, admission office, nurse office, janitor, maintenance, teaching assistant, researcher for professor, open house tour guides, etc. Work in the same campus as the one you are studying. You can work full-time on-campus; these on-campus hours don't count towards the 20 hours a week (while studying) off-campus hours. Learn more in Canada's official website.

Hi there! I recently completed my bachelor's degree in computer science (CSE), and I'm looking for the September intake in 2024 for a computer programming diploma(UG) at St. Clair College in Canada. Is it a good idea to pursue a diploma after completing a bachelor's degree? Has anyone else taken this path? Additionally, I'm curious about the difference in PR (Permanent Residency) points for a regular (UG)diploma and a postgraduate (PG) diploma.
I am surprised that they let you in. Usually, you need to show progression in your studies.
If you actually have a bachelors degree in computer science you can apply for express entry PR… lol

@@GrayMatterNZ During COVID, corporations found out that all the work can be done remotely. There is no reason to bring a guy from India to do software programming in Canada. It is cheaper to outsource the work. Results can be demonstrated real time through Microsoft Teams, WebEx, and Zoom.

Customer-facing jobs requires French. If you stay in background (such as cook, dishwasher, cleaner, janitor, programmer, etc.), English alone is fine. Rent is cheaper than Toronto.

If you are lucky enough to find an on-campus job, those on-campus hours don't count towards the 20 hrs a week while studying off-campus limit.

@@sufyanmukri9610 Those students who arrived in Canada on or before 7th Oct 2022 with their study permits (or those who applied on or before 7th Oct 2022 and waiting for approval) can work fulltime while studying from 15th Nov 2022 to 31st Dec 2023. For students who came after 7th Oct 2022, they can only work 20 hrs a week while studying.
