A green push to break station is usually to release a door held closed in an emergency and it will usually say EXIT on the glass . A red push to break station is for fire alarms and will say FIRE on the glass. It seems a little too fake for me, I think they did it on purpose for dramatic effect, as to whether he was aware I cannot say for sure.

Jedward did it on the exact same call point back in 2010 on a live a task back on Channel 4. The Fire Brigade came out eventually to reset it.

No, they weren't. They were on the " Ignore The Obvious Task" and in a bid to get out of the house they activated the fire alarm.
Because it is faked.... Everyone knows what a fire alarm looks like. And you don't have fancy strobe lights for when one is set off.
