A Day in the Life of a Modern American Exorcist

- The ancient rite of casting evil spirits from the possessed is on the rise in the United States. Historically, demonic possessions have been used to describe mental or physical illnesses and even strings of bad luck, but the scientific community has debunked many of the outdated convictions.
With the U.S. being home to 20 percent of the world’s exorcists, VICE investigates why the phenomenon of exorcism is on the rise. We speak to Father Lampert, a member of the International Association of Exorcists and Michael Shermer, a former Evangelical Christian and founder of Skeptic magazine, to see why the modern exorcism is thriving in the West.

Person: Do you even lift bro??
Priest: No, I exorcise...
미혜 lmao wtf🤣
Now this is a good joke 😂
미혜 that’s pretty funny
That's actually pretty good
Uggggggggggghhh
i like how vice conveniently left out how in the Catholic Church anybody who says they need an exorcism has to go through extensive medical and psychological examinations to make sure that what they are experiencing is definitely not a mental illness
Except that’s not always true, especially if the family is close to the priest of their parish.
I’ve known kids who have gotten them and not had a psychiatrist evaluation. Also you can read stories of ex Catholics who say the same things.
@@KatRunion Then they were lying. First off very few priests are actually exorcists. Secondly it is a law in the Church that a priest HAS to obey (or they could lose their job) to get a med and psych eval before an exorcism and even then, any priest chosen to be an exorcist has been chosen for being prudent.
@@liambrunner3026 yes it was the poor people and children lying about being abused by the Catholic Church. Because priests can’t be evil! Tell that to all the abused children and adults. And the single mothers and babies they killed in Ireland. 🙄🙄
@@KatRunion well those cases by the catholic church are seen as wrong so your comment is hearsay.
The guy just said he witnessed a demon levitating lol I don't care how many psychiatrists have not given a satisfactory diagnosis, if you take any scientific validation seriously, your position would be 'we don't yet know how to diagnose this'. Otherwise you are just using scientific prudence when it comes to proof and evidence and say 'heck well than it must have been magic!' lol I think demons corrupted your logical thinking
Can we just get a Netflix film or series based on this priest’s experiences, so Colm Feore can portray him?
Mark Proksch would also be amazing.
Netflix is on the other team.
There is a dramatic re-enactment of Father Lampert's exorcist training and the case he described in the later part of the video. The show is Paranormal Witness and the episode is appropriately titled "The Exorcist".
Rite on Netflix is about an exorcist.
Not sure if this is on Netflix, Priest is a good korean series. It's a thriller-medical drama about a doctor and 2 priests that protects people together at a Catholic hospital.
I have had first hand experience with a demon. It's nothing like in the movies. I did experience temperature change, felt like something was breathing in my face and there were growls and a sense of anger. I saw absolutely nothing, no hideous creature, it was invisible. When I spoke the name of Jesus it went ballistic but it never touched me. It ended up going down the hallway into a bedroom. The door slammed and you could see the door move like someone was punching the door from the other side. When my friends and I prayed it started crying out, like it was multiple voices. God can give you strength in these times and fear is gone. After it's over then your mind freaks out.
I think I’ve seen demon manifestations as well. I met this one guy who hated when I talked about the Trinity. Eventually I tried casting out the spirit he was talking to; it took three hours before everything stopped and during that time, this boy tried to curse me. It didn’t work, but by the end of the conversation I was physically and spiritually exhausted.
@@jillianh7565 you were super patient, wow, I don’t know what to say but I’m glad the Holy Spirit helped the guy out.
Did you get rid of it?

Father Vince was the priest at our church for many years, he actually baptized my son. He's a very interesting man. Very dry and matter of fact, but funny (as you can tell). My favorite thing he ever said about exorcism is that people get it in their head that he's gonna show up and swing dead chickens around by their necks and burn sage or something. People are surprised that exorcism is actually just prayer and faith in God. His stories are incredible, but told like it's just another day at work. He's wholly unaffected by the stunts of Satan, just another day at the office. If you meet him, you'd completely understand why he was chosen for the role. Amazing guy. One day he rang my doorbell and I thought, "oh shit... there's an exorcist on my porch. This can't be good." He was just returning my ID that I dropped at church. 😂 Normal everyday guy. My family and I are big fans.
You're lucky. I like my pastor and have no problem with him, but I definitely wouldn't mind having this kind of guy at my parish.
"show up and swing dead chickens around by their necks and burn sage or something." ngl i would pay to see that
The last part 🤣😂🤣
@@abrokeartist1664 ..they dont do that
@@mickfizz1 I realize. For I am 💫*religiously involved*💫
My professor in religion and ethics told us of his first time seeing an exorcism when he was in college he assisted a pastor with some deacons in casting the demon away through songs and prayers. The possessed man turned to their side and said in a demonic voice "You're praying to cast me out when you're cheating with your wife?" then one of the deacons got up and was too terrified he walked away.
Now that’s a real possession!
That's actually a cool story!
Yeah. My grandma told me stories about possession from back in the day. She said on day there was a witch in the church. A little lady who started to scream in a very loud weird voice. She said it took 5 big grown black men to hold her. She said as the woman was being prayed for her arms and legs were growing and stretching and moving like snakes. She said during the initial scuffle the woman was able to throw a man or two until they all grabbed her. I've seen some crazy things myself and experienced some crazy things. So absolutely I believe that there are personalities outside of our ability to comprehend that are able to over take human facilities. I mean... UFO and UAP phenomenon show some of the same freaky instances, as well as the power of Jesus being something able to combat and stop UFO visitation. But no one talks about that either. The true fool is the one who says... Oh there's nothing but this... Good luck.
@@demetriushuffman7030 you are 100 percent correct...
That's why it's important to go to confession before attempting exorcism. You have to be worthy enough so the power of God can flow through you Oh I remember, they don't have that. Not surprised..
Many people downright mock & ridicule not believing in demonic possession however I experienced a horrific demonic possession of my very young daughter. She verbalized incidents she had no possible way of knowing including things that took place when I was little ... she had absolute knowledge at that time of horrific things and stating unsettling ugly statements. I was just a single mother of 3 children and gathered my other 2 children while we prayed over my daughter asking God to place his hand on this situation. We prayed 5 hours for her until she said "mommy, he's gone." Faith is soooo important.
ill take things that didn't happen for $300 Alex..

I appreciate vice giving an even take on a truly extraordinary phenomenon.... I understand they still benefit from pushing a certain position, but this felt as close to a journalistic approach as I have seen in a long time.
But it's not extra or ordinary not a phenomenon. It's a spiritual evil spirit that has a personality. Atheists should really stop injection nonsensical terminology that doesn't make any sense.

'Believe' is a strong word, you gotta keep questioning.
I've experienced what is what people may refer to as the sleep paralysis demon various times. But the very first time I ever encountered the being was when I first actually got serious about reading the Bible. I had picked up the book and read from Genesis to Exodus in one sitting. Prior to that there would always be strange sounds in the several houses my family and I would move to at the point of bringing in a priest to bless hour house once.
It's one thing for kids to perhaps experience something scary at night but it did eventually start getting more and more out of hand.
My family was always catholic or at least during the time my mother was married to her ex husband. However the man was very sinful in terms of cheating, drinking, smoking, and God knows what else. All these years later I believe it was him that was carrying all these demons around with him because there was no way every house we went to seemed to have a haunting.
Even other family members have spoken up whenever they'd visit that some weird things would happen at night. From strange sounds of footsteps when no one has gotten up to, the TVs turning on by themselves in different rooms, we'd have toys go off by themselves, my moms ex husband himself has heard someone say Jesus right after we went to bed after watching Passion of the Christ for the time (that night was the night our toys onthe first floor kept going on, both he and my mom were also awakened by the sound of sand being thrown at their window)
Basically a lot of weird things have followed me which I thinks stems from that. But the ultimate evil act he committed was raping my sister was was just a child. Then things really start kicking up. Only we had not known he did that until years later and it made sense why thing began getting weirder.
He was always abusive to me and even handed me my first drink of alcohol at a very very young age. I'm an alcoholic to this day now.
I do believe the Lord looks out for me, I have felt his presence and can if I truly ask him for it.
I played an Ouja board once when I was young and was told 3 demons follow me. I suppose one is the addiction to alcohol, the sleep paralysis, and a succubus.
I have literally on only two occasions been wide awake and felt like something was having sex with me. And even if I tried to somehow use my brain to replicate that specific sensation I never could. However I was introduced to last at an age no child should've been introduced to.
Demons are real, they're around us more often than we care to pay attention to for whatever the reason. Its not always acting out and speaking in tongues, sometimes it's really not being in control of yourself
You mean being possessed by dead rock stars?
Gotta love the humor

I’ve seen the possessed, someone that has opened their mind to the demons. I dated one, claimed to be Christian and wasn’t. It hits different when the person you like blacks out then you literally talk to a demon. The thing is that I felt the change, and it was all over video call. I felt chills. After I got out of the relationship, I decided to devote my life to God, and I have no regrets. To everyone, He loves you.
Just thinking about it now, I really see areas where she was possessed and the effects that it had. She gave herself to the evil one btw.
Yeah she's making the decision to go to hell. It seems that a christian will have to sacrifice themselves very much to allow God to save her through the christian and God doing all the work and Glory amen. However this would also take sacrifice from a human. And I honestly would not pray for her. I don't think she's lost but I don't want anywhere near her.
Bro you need to stop smoking crack and seek mental help 🤷♂️

It is hard to believe in the paranormal until something paranormal happens to you. Never close your minds to the possibilities.
LittleMissFacts all figments of your imagination.
LittleMissFacts I agree, I NEVER believed in the paranormal due to being an Atheist. About 10 years ago, my girlfriend and I were experiencing strange events in the house (seeing/hearing things). Then it got physical when I had something pinch my butt and rub my lower back, but nothing was there. The next year we moved to a rough part of Atlanta and everyone who lived there said something evil is out at night and to not go out. We laughed it off still not fully believing the previous events. Then all three of my animals died 8 days a part and for all different reasons (I had my dog for 13 years, my one cat for 10 years, and the other cat for 2 years, so it has nothing to do with age). We had more paranormal things happen then my mom experienced it a couple of times. Whatever this is has followed us place to place over the last decade. I’ve also had dreams of “demons” attacking me on numerous occasions. It isn’t as bad since we moved from that bad part of town (6/7 years ago) but we have experienced strange things since then and especially here recently (DVD’s went flying across the room for no reason).
I still don’t fully believe what we’ve experienced, but I can’t explain it either. We don’t have the answers for everything so who knows what is really out there?
It's funny how "Paranormal" occurrences are always things like a door shutting by itself (explainable using physics), a cold chill when alone at night and the feeling of being watched (explainable using psychology and biology), why don't ghosts lift up a car or something?
@Deutscher Thanos thanks Captain obvious
@@taylorsmith7034 I too have experienced things with several people present that we can not explain. Multiple times. Anyone that claims a title like atheist, or they say [fill in the blank] isn't possible, are close minded. The most intelligent thing you can say is I just don't know. Even science has "proven" that there are multiple dimensions. We can't see the dimensions, but it does not mean that they do not exist. This includes intelligent beings that may, or may not exist on an alternate plane. Some people call these beings demons. Also, science changes with better technology, and research quite often. Nothing is definitive except death, and even death could be just part of our evolution.
"Once you start to believe in something the confirmation bias kicks in" for someone who is supposed to be smart he seems to not realize this goes both ways. He has a very clear bias, you could give him absolute 100% proof and he would deny exorcisms are real.
Well there's always excuses, and also ways to coerce and silence anyone and anything. So yeah.
every single piece of evidence that people have presented in favor of the supernatural has been proven to be false.
@@ITI-xi5zx lol no but keep coping
@@ITI-xi5zx I hope you experience it one day, then we’ll see.
@@ITI-xi5zx There is always a possible naturalistic explanation for claims of the supernatural, but that doesn't amount to "proving" that competing supernatural explanations are false. You're just begging the question, and assuming that the supernatural doesn't exist if you really think there's no evidence for it.
Science doesn't even "prove" its own theories, anyhow. It only falsifies, and does so by showing that a theories' predictions don't hold up to empirical data. In the case of an idea like, "spiritual forces can sometimes influence our world", science could never falsify it. It doesn't make any predictions that can be tested scientifically. It isn't science, so it's nonsensical to hold it to scientific standards.
And unless you begin by assuming that the natural world of science is all that there is, then to think that "unscientific" equates to "untrue" or "unknowable" is just absurd.
I saw the movie The Exorcists on Dec. 26, 1973 on opening night. My mother and aunt wanted to see it, but couldn’t find a babysitter for my brother and I. You are so gullible.
Yup all these stories are similar
These stories he told of his exorcisms sounded so familiar. I realized they did a story on him for one of the episodes of Paranormal Witness. It was one of the best episodes, imo.
I grew up as a Catholic, got into Pentecostal churches, then went back to being a Catholic. The priests in the Catholic church are less concerned about converting people to their faith and more about helping people in the community, even if they are not Catholics. Catholic priests, especially the Jesuits, have no problem relying on science and psychology and believing experts in the field. In fact, in my university, our President back then was a priest with a doctorate in Physics. They are definitely more open-minded and temperate than Pentecostals based on my experience.
Speaking of exorcisms, my Jesuit priest friend told me that exorcisms in the Catholic church are documented. They have videos of the sessions, though not publicly available I suppose. He told me that one of the cases involved a baby that could lift a fridge. It sounds funny when I type it here, but when he told me it was documented on video I got scared a little bit.
Anyway, healthy skepticism is good. That's how we avoid accidents and injuries. The priest himself said it, most claims of demonic possession are fake and needs mental health support.
The Jesuits are wonderful. I work in a health care facility for aging Jesuits and they’re all wonderful people.

That's gold that freakin made my day, I am so telling a priest this joke tomorrow
The bottom line is, other people are more of a danger to us than spirits. I sit on the fence of all of this. I once went to a church, merely out of curiosity, to witness people being touched by a priest that does exorcisms and they freaked out a bit and fell down after he touched them, but I felt that this was just their own personal reaction over something imagined. I certainly didn't feel or sense anything in the church while this was going on. I also had a crazy indigenous lady living next door to me, who had heard a false rumour that I was mentally ill (I was not at all and was just a normal stable person working as a manager in the corporate sector). She then had her whole household convinced that in order to be mentally ill, that meant I was possessed by bad spirits or cursed (due to their cultural beliefs on mental illness). I can't tell you what a pain in the arse that was to live next door to and just plain mean. I thought they were idiots. On the other hand, twice now I've seen smarmy sceptic investigative journalists investigate the paranormal as part of a TV show and both times, in the end, they had a paranormal experience. One of them was Louis Theroux when he met with Ama the Hugging Saint from India, convinced it was a load of mumbo jumbo. Ama is said to have something powerfully spiritual within her that effects people when she hugs them, like she makes them high or something. When Louis hugged Ama, he almost fainted! He admitted that he did feel something happen. The other TV show, I've posted a link to below (read the part at the bottom, under episode 8). This host mocked the paranormal throughout his entire TV series, but in the final episode he had an exorcism and admitted that he couldn't remember what happened. He freaked out during the exorcism as though it was real and he was having evil spirits removed from him (ones he picked up during the making of his show, as he had been to see people doing voodoo, etc). He has said very little about what happened in that episode. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Safran_vs_God
I seen real possessions at my church as a child. When the pastor told Satan he had to leave and that he held no power over the possessed lady, I literally watched the door fly open with no force there was a strong wind that almost broke the hindges off the door, but funny thing is there was no trees or anything blowing outside, no air nothing, the door only opened when the pastor told Satan to leave after he fought with our pastor through the lady, he finally left and slammed the door behind him. I remember the pastor asking who Satan was he growled through that woman and green stuff was coming out of her mouth she yelled in a manly voice “YOU KNOW WHO I AM!!!!! “ LUCIFER IS MY NAME” I just just told my 27 year old daughter about this story the other day because we were discussing a text she got from a guy that likes her, the guy told my daughter he wanted her soul, I told her that wasn’t the guy that was Satan speaking directly through him. My daughter told the guy a few days later what he had said, he had no memory of it, I told her sure he didn’t remember what he said because Satan took over. I told my daughter demons are real and we come in contact with them every day they walk around in human form. The murderer, the child molestor, the abuser, the robbers, those are just a few examples of demons. These type of people are not themselves Satan has taken over their lives. That’s why we have to be careful of who we give our bodies to as well, you could be sleeping with a demon and not know it. When fluid is exchanged now the demon is in you through blood and semen, in the healing community we call it soul ties it’s real.
Rough Story.
God bless you and your family💙
maybe focus less on "satan" taking over criminals and more about how religion divided the world and created wars. if wrath can come to this planet then so can god, they arent any different as when you die you go to either one of them, supposedly. if the devil can come to earth why cant god? bc he cant interfere? or bc hes not real lmao
Sounds like nonsense tbh also people are capable of great evil without needing any "external" help. Think blaming it on "satan" or other entities is far easier than just accepting that there are some really messed up people out here

I can tell you this possession is very real i had an encounter at 23 when i was a fresh baby christian and we had one of our member tell us he was messing with tarot reading and other demonic activities. Our young adult pastor had us cast put whatever was inside of him we had to fast for 3 days and pray up and i tell you this that was the most unreal experience ever. When we started praying on him he started acting strange and suddenly some dark blob looking thing shot out of him and circled the entire room we were in church and it vanished out the front entrance. Then after had a few days feeling so bad. It is very real
My wife is Caribbean and she tell me stories about evil possession all the time. it is some wild stuff that I have ever heard before but where she is from I not surprised by the wild stuff that they have told me. especially when you go to their countries and you see things that don't make sense.

Am aware of the “skeptic society” whom I call cynical society. Strong science background here, yet have experienced multiple what might be called paranormal events in life that I’d call angelic not demonic. It’s very interesting that the first presentation I experienced about acupuncture was about treating demonic possessions. The presenter was Dr. JR Worsley of England. Essentially there are certain points on the back that must be carefully located and the doctor must be prepared for the patient to tear up the “surgery” (what they call their office in England). This is as best I recall from 3 decades ago.
Skeptic society = exclusionist thinkers.

You people need to know the truth!!
There is no such thing as “energies”.
This is what I know, it’s only truth.
Demons exist, sometimes they come to you as a dead family member, and many times they act like a “good spirit” but in reality they hate and want you killed, they hate God, this they hate his creation. Now there are souls around that aren’t demons, they cannot tough or harm us, but they like to mess around with humans with physical objects, they cannot come to you as a dead family member, however they can talk to you through the satanic games.
These souls are of ex witches who have made a Covenant with Satan so that they wouldn’t have to go to hell right away. And yes, God and Jesus are real, and they created all of us. Before we came to earth he knew us, we were little spirits in his being, he takes one out and soes it to a physical cell and then that’s how we get here... anything else you want to know?
How’s Life How did you acquire knowledge of the inner workings of satanic pacts if they weren't written in the Bible? Because. It seems like you just made that up.
How’s Life Also God doesn't sew us onto anything that's absurd. The spirit tether is not a literal piece of string.
Something that crossed my mind was when Dr. Shermer brought up the point about confirmation bias and "only seeing what you want to see." I realized that the same thing could be said for skeptics. They choose not to believe and so they only see what confirms this bias. Unfortunately I have to give more credit to the priest than the skeptic because the priest does acknowledge that the overwhelming majority of cases are fake, however, the skeptic writes all cases off as fake without keeping an open mind to possibly being wrong. He also mentions things that we can't explain yet, for the sake of an argument, couldn't supernatural stuff fall into that category?
People do not believe for a reason. People who have faith do not believe due to reason. Lol

The priest's closing line sums it up pretty well. "If you're a person of faith, you begin with the premise that believing is seeing. People that may come from more of a scientific background may begin with the premise that 'I have to see in order to believe.'" Speaking as someone who was raised in a religious home, but who now has no faith, I don't see the idea of belief coming first (before evidence) as a virtue anymore. I don't need to literally "see" in order to believe--there's a lot we can't see--but I do need evidence before I have certainty. I need to be convinced in order to believe.
No matter how convincing someone can be, they still wont be able to convince you back to faith. Faith doesnt need convincing. Faith just needs faith.
Using methods for understanding the material to try and uncover the non-material is futile, but yes your outlook is very common now
@@maxwellstevens9562 Yes. And I no longer see that as a virtue. You can believe literally anything on faith.
@@owenswabi I’m not sure “non-material” has a definition that precludes the wholly fictitious. There are certainly things that can’t be seen or touched that are nevertheless real, but if something has no compelling evidence for its existence, I no longer feel warranted in believing it.

The Catholic Church teaches that exorcism is the act of driving out or expelling demons or evil spirits from a person, place, or thing, through the power of God. While the concept of exorcism may seem supernatural, the Catholic Church views it as a natural, spiritual practice that involves the use of prayer, sacraments, and the authority of the Church to combat spiritual afflictions.
From a scientific standpoint, there is no empirical evidence to support the existence of demons or evil spirits. However, the psychological and physiological effects of exorcism can be explained by various scientific disciplines. For example, some experts suggest that the symptoms of possession or demonic influence, such as speaking in tongues, convulsions, and altered states of consciousness, may be related to psychological or neurological disorders.
In addition, the use of ritual and prayer in exorcism may have a placebo effect on the individual undergoing the process. The power of suggestion and belief can have a profound effect on the human mind and body. Therefore, it is possible that the individual's belief in the efficacy of the exorcism may contribute to the alleviation of their symptoms.
I don't care who you are, or what your religion is, or isn't, evil is real.
Deavon Manson To a relativist it is, but at least you acknowledge it exists.
Deavon Manson Do you believe in love? God? A spirit world?
Evil is a relative term. It all comes down to each persons moral compass. So, I may see rape as evil, but someone who was brought up differently will not. Hence, there is no exact definition of evil so it can be argued it does not really exist.
GodIsImaginary
I am not a relativist, but I agree that if you are going to say morality is relative, the logical conclusion is to admit that it does not exist at all, not admitting this is nothing more than cowardice, and being intellectually disingenuous. Wanting to have your cake and eat it too.

There's such a huge difference between the attitudes of the priest and the sceptic club guy.
The priest was so humble, he admitted that there are so many things we don't understand and cannot be explained due to limited nature of human brain and he doesn't expect people to believe without seeing.
The sceptic just stated 'there is nothing supernatural, period'. Strong claim but very weak basis.
"There are so many things we don't understand, therefore my supernatural claims are real."
That's what you want to sound like? Do you hear yourself? Your gap of understanding about the universe is not an invitation for you to fill that gap with nonsense. That's what children do.
If this is truly how you think then why question anyone's wacky claims about anything they don't understand? Why not get a quantum physics lesson from a kindergartner? Their ignorance about a subject will be just as valid as your ignorance about a subject. Therefore, the child's gap-filling claims should be just as valid your gap-filling claims right?
You know what's ACTUALLY intellectually humble? Recognizing you don't understand something and NOT rushing to fill that gap in knowledge with fantastical ideas. You should sit in unknowns and WAIT for evidence. You don't rush to conclusions just because it feels good. And if you don't have any real evidence for a claim then you DON'T offer that claim obedience or belief just because you're afraid to admit you sit in ignorance.
That priest's "humility" is a performative virtue signal. He LOOKS humble but he's claiming all kinds of knowledge and authority over other people and how they should think. And his evidence for this authority? Nothing but more claims of authority.
It would be pathetically hilarious if it wasn't so dangerous.
Well, the priest had supernatural experiences. If he isn't lying about them (which I don't think he is) then I don't see why he shouldn't speak of those experiences while admitting they can't be fully understood.
The sceptic, however, gave an absolute statement claiming that he *knows* nothing supernatural exists. I don't really consider that more humble than the priest saying he isn't there to convince anyone or that he can't explain everything he's experienced.
@@filipmistewicz4998 The priest had an experience and INTERPRETED it as a "supernatural" experience that fit perfectly into his preexisting worldview.
How is it that religiously minded people always have supernatural experiences that conform perfectly with their preset religious views? Hindus have Hindu experiences. Jews have Jewish experiences. Mormons have Mormon experiences. And they all use the interpretation of those experiences as evidence that their worldview is more correct than the other.
These adults are having supernatural experiences in the same way that children see supernatural monsters under their bed. Why would we place any confidence in the interpretations of these adults over the exact same type of interpretations from children?
Let’s not forget the fact that there are more than just catholic beliefs of evil entities and the Bible is not the only thing that can cure one from evil. but based off of the 1000s of years of evidence stating that people have shown signs of demonic possession is surely enough to confirm that there is something supernatural and something that is beyond our visual dimension to understand or see exists. Now this is something only open minded people can understand because some believe that this is childish or something made up to make us believe in religion or God and the devil but there is so much more beyond our dimensions that these supernatural beings live in to where multiple can exist from all beliefs and experiences with them across the world in different cultures. So this is something beyond the basic scriptures, holy water, and cross, now these are materials and words that are of good intentions and that can help one in the state but there is so much more that we humans are still scratching the surface to. Very interesting that some can look up at the stars and think that the impossible is impossible, the more we understand the universe the more we understand our connection to it and our powers within it. We were gifted with powerful minds that can create within our own 3 dimensional realm, just think what others can do in the other dimensions.
Why would you consider materialistic interpretation superior? That's not exactly philosophically honest.
Also, consider how the priest says he CAN'T provide definitive proof of the supernatural, but the sceptic club president says 'there exists nothing supernatural' as if he could produce proof, which he cannot.
8:59 that Terraria sound effect killed me lmfao
I'm not gonna say he's wrong cause I go by the theory if I see it I believe it. I can't say he's wrong or right till I experience something so i'm gonna stay on the tight rope.

@J speaking in tongues when praying is the Holy Spirit not demon
This is glossolalia, a device of the Pentecostal beliefs of some congregations within that Protestant faith. Evangelicals who take cues from Pentecostal beliefs and practices also make use of it. This isn’t the Speaking in Tongues the Catholic Church understands the Bible is talking about. Catholics believe this to be one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, but not in the way Pentecostals understand it. Catholics believe it to be the miraculous ability God the Father grants through the Holy Spirit to those sanctified to proceed with the Mission of the Church, the mission to make of all peoples believers in Jesus Christ. It is the actual ability to speak in or be understood in languages you don’t know. It’s the first power the Apostles were given when the Holy Spirit first came to them.

The skeptic misrepresented what the criteria are that the Church looks fior. What he said does not apply to the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church criteria are:
1. Speaking in languages otherwise unknown to the person. Not simply speaking in “tongues.”
2. Strength outside the limits of what is possible for the person that persists for hours. This goes beyond temporary adrenaline rushes.
3. Hidden knowledge. Knowledge of things the person would have no way of knowing.
4. Aversion to the sacred. It’s not so easy to explain away a person knowing that the priest has a relic of a particular saint in his pocket with 100% accuracy multiple times. Or a person able to pick out the one out of 10 containers that has blessed water 100% of the time multiple times. Or a similar test.
You can’t easily explain away levitation or sudden environmental temperature change in a controlled setting when mechanical/outside factors are ruled out. Or someone who says “Father did you like how we knocked on your walls 3x at 2:22AM last night and made the broken watch on the night stand fall onto the floor.?” when that’s exactly what happened. Or someone suddenly able to communicate fluently in 4 languages (sometimes obscure dialects) they’ve never studied.

I’m a part of a house church- which is just a group of young adults who are in full pursuit of God and have experienced His saving love that attend a church called Upperroom Dallas, and we cast out demons regularly. When we’re doing a street ministry outreach, people will begin to behave erratically and have supernatural strength, different voices, and say things only a spiritual being could know. But they get so scared and most easily cast out because we walk in the Authority of Jesus Christ. You don’t need holy water or certain chants or relics or have a weird ceremony to come against evil. For light penetrates the darkness and darkness cannot stand against it. Jesus has been given all authority and all power and all dominion, and exercises it through those who call on His name.
It’s really simple.
“I command every unclean spirit to go now in the name of Jesus. We bind you and break your power and command you to come all the way out in the name of Jesus”.
demons are stronger than humans but feathers when compared to the power and omnipotence of God.
also demons manifest all around us you just need eyes to see. we’re so accustomed to the world that we think certain things are normal but they’re actually forces of darkness and principalities taking hold.
i see someone who actually has an understanding of this. i read a lot about this. do you think you can pray for me. i have one inherited, a few more too, and bad spirits and a curse or two . one my dad spoke to him is called warlock and he is the inherited from hate against serbia in the war for independency of croatia. (very brutal so i understand some might have issue with forgiveness) you think you can help me?
That Dr. said it the easiest way. Plain simple, and logical.
You only accept that explanation because it is the easiest for our limited senses to understand. The truth is not easy.
Ok , show me god. If you do that I’ll apologize.
@@sekhmet7774 it’s like believing in Santa.
@@rorynash7978 Look at cosmic fine-tuning and how advanced life is. For Godless evolution to work, it has to violate the law of biogenesis. It is tough to break a principle for a theory.
"Things that we cant be explained yet": now thats opens whole new universe....intresting
So if "the things we havent explained yet" are outside of what he calls the normal and the natural, i wonder what he thinks they are... skeptics can witness an actual levitation and still say its hormones and brain chemistry 🤷♀️
@Green Future
Levitation was practiced by many magiciand in egypt and it is no the only paranormal activity related to the possesed either.
I remember helping in one occasion.A girl had sexual tensions with her brothers at the age of 6.
SIX.
After the exorcism she was ok.The priest was killed however in his own house.
His name was Malachi Martin.Look him up.
@@mitchispri skeptics are the most igornant type of people .. they dont believe anything
Angel Lopez It’s not that skeptics don’t believe , they are afraid of believing beyond what their tiny mind can see. 100% of the time , skeptics will resort to mockery as their defence mechanism to make them feel superior
@@logans.butler285 ah yes, finally an open minded skeptic, i am an open minded person of Faith and yeah being open minded is good it is like seeing a whole different perspective of things
I too would never believe a recorded 'evidences' of levitation because it is just a bunch of hoax, exorcism to is hard to believe if you don't see it in front of your eyes, even if i see an exorcism right in front of my eyes i woudl still be skeptical that the person is really possessed, but exorcism acted by the Vatican Priest can be at least trusted with a grain of salt because they cannot perform it unless they are entirely sure and present the higher up the evidences that it is demonic possession
Actually, levitation is easy. It is one of the basic skills to learn along with fast travel
Feel like the people that fake it are the same ones that always wore headphones and growled at you in high school lol
The modern day equivalent to wearing cat ears or turtle beaches
"I'm possessed XD" kind of energy
Fun facts:
Today is 12 Aug 2021. Which means we are at the beginning of the Ghost Festival in Lunar New Year.
Here in SEA, city is the place where has the highest amount of ghosts (or what we call lost spirit) because most of exorcists can not be found in the city. So where do they go? Pagodas.
If you engage a spirit, it often means you are asked to do something. But if the spirit is wearing red, it is seeking for revenge.
Cambodia is extremely spiritual when it comes to money. Whatever you make there, make sure you spend them all before you leave.
I’m not joking when I saw the title of this video I laughed 😂😂 gotta love these
