She is truly one of a kind. She has this very old soul in her that sadly almost no longer exists. Her voice is unmatched and surrounded by amazing musicians.
I'm embarrassed to say I have not listened to this remarkable performer before. This lady has some unusual signature vocal characteristics. I'm no expert whatsoever I just know what I like to listen to. I like this lady singing.
Until a month ago, November 2019, I had never heard of Diana Krall, and now I want to hear more of her songs. This is one of my favorites but she sings it in a very sentimental way without creaming it or adding frills like other singers do. She's much better than Buble! Her sound is so romantic.
Thank you very much Subaru Philippines for sponsoring this very relaxing jazz bossa nova album of dianna krall. Listening from Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines...🥰
I absolutely love Diana Krall and have for a number of years. She is an amazing pianist and singer. She really affects me in a positive way; in a world that is in a huge hurry and all the craziness that is taking place, we all need more calmness and joy in our lives.
This music is great. Mr. Bacharach is genius. This is one of his best. Diana does such a wonderful job with it. Peaceful and moving!! And Diana is easy on the eye. Lovely woman.
This is just one of those tunes, masterfully composed, I would say one of the most beautiful songs Burt ever composed. Takes me right back to the early 70s.
161 people can't walk on by. Seriously, Diana Krall interprets jazz as she feels it. You may or may not like it. A lot of people do. Me included. This song has been covered a number of times. I like her version as well as Dionne's. It's all good. Just glad to hear all of these wonderful talents in our lifetime.
Yes! ...a great interpretation of what should be considered a classic. ...and to those who insist on comparing artists - why? She's not Dionne Warwick, and Dionne isn't Ella, and Ella isn't Sarah, etc. etc.. They are all great and each brings something unique to their music.
It's October 2017 and 548 people have ticked the "dislike" box. Rather surprising. I am a long time fan and listen and watch all I can. Why do the dislike tickers bother to listen? This version is quite beautiful, performed by an attractive and talented performer. If over 7 million have listened/watched, I rest my case.
Been listening to this genius for years. Would somehow like to say something as profound as her professionalism and talent. I would utterly fail. I can only say that I have years of musical training. Every fiber of me appreciates the music of this woman and her team. I am a scientist by trade, hard work and study. This music makes it worth it. I thank you dearly. Old man from Texas
Looking at the comments, it appears to be "different strokes for different folks." I didn't use to appreciate Diana Krall's music on her CDs during the 90s. However, recently I've discovered her LIVE performances. These days professional musicians make their money touring. Well, she has real jazz chops, and now I like her LIVE. Had a chance to see her and now I regret what I missed. Beautiful orchestra here.
Just Love Diana's Spin on Bossa Nova! Live from Rio.... Outstanding Percussion, Brass, and of course Diana's Phrasing, and Piano. Oh, and did I Mention, Beautiful....Peace...!
I've seen a lot (and I mean a LOT) of orchestras and studio bands up close... I don't know when I've ever seen such uniform concentration on the part of an entire ensemble to get it right. Totally accomplished, totally professional. Great song, great performance, great shoes. Addendum: I've enjoyed Krall for years, but tonight, as I listen to this again, her performance of this Bacharach/David classic, I believe I finally "get" her: Both vocally, and pianistically, she is the heir to Les McCann.
It is definitely the orchestra that pushes this rendition past Dionne Warwick's original. If Diana had Dionne's background ensemble you'd probably have to give it to Dionne. That being said, Diana's voice just melds so well with the orchestric sound, probably as well as anyone out there. Her version of The Look of Love is every bit as beautiful as this gorgeous piece.
Diana Krall with the piano is one of the sexiest things in the whole world. And also: The song is pretty great. That is all I had to say in Finland at 4.30 am. And as we in Finland say: PERKELE Diana on mahtava artisti.
I met someone on Van Isl who was shopping somewhere on the west coast of the island who stood in line with this woman and Elvis. YOU are, Dianna and Elvis the fruition of 'gift'. THANK YOU!
SHE IS THE MOST WONDERFUL LADY IN THE WORLD, SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL VOICE, PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN, AMAZING LADY! I LOVE HER AND I WILL MARRY HER FOR LIFE!
Gosh, she is so fabulous. She played at White House for President Obama and First Lady, Michelle. Burt Bacharach was sitting in the front row, and he was absolutely mesmerized by her. I will never forget that. She really delivered that evening.
Hi! Yes, Sheryl did play at White House, but Diana Krall played back in 2012 in the East room of White House as a tribute to Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Burt Bacharach in front row. Hal had already passed away. May 12, 2012. Try to catch on video if you can. It was very touching.❤
Simplesmente apaixonante!
from 1:59 to 3;24 is what finely tuned machine sounds like...every instrument is perfectly complimenting her exquisite piano solo. This is REAL music, at its best.
The audio crew done here a perfect work, much over than professional level. Find an exceptional balance between voice (Diana’s special one), piano and orchestra. Moreover Diana’s style and song interpretation itself is an adventure.
Every time when I hear this song I ask a question how this song found a way to this concert? It is much more „professional” and serious than other song of this concert. It is a professional improvisation by DK. I become a feeling this is a top of a world. In my opinion this song is better than official “The look of love”.
I got some e-mail: why this record is so special? I try to explain. Every song has its own aura, but sometimes singer forgot it. Sometimes improvise just for the improvisation and lead far listener from the original song. Brilliance of DK’s interpretation is to rip out listener from a original song for seconds without break its aura, break its melody. As simile: possible to swim in a river and fly over the river at a same time? It is not possible. But looks like DK deliver this felling to you.
se la dediqué a alguien que amé ...y me dijo que yo vivía en el pasado...lástima,desde entonces comprendí que la buena música no merece tan mediocres destinatarios...
absolutely, slow and sultry giving her room/time to put real feeling into it .. in an interview she admits that with her vocal range she can't beat the hell out of a song (like many singers) .. thank god she knows what she's good at and serves it up plenty!
'If you see me walking down the street And i start to cry each time we meet Walk on by Walk on by Make believe that you don't see the tears Just let me grieve in private Cause each time i see you i break down and cry Walk on by. Incredible !!! A Talent we must embrace right now, ' cause types like this are rare, I love her dearly , hope she gets the exposure she deserves, quote me " one of a kind"
In my opinion, Dionne Warwick's interpretation will forever be the best. That said, each time I hear Diana Krall's version - the gap between the two closes a bit.
1968....16 and listened to this over and over. BRILLANT Diana.
Drop the hate and negative. We all must get along.
Can't get enough of her. If you don't enjoy her music " then just walk on by"
How wonderful people come with different languages here to praise Diana Krall.
I HAVE NO WORDS...SHE IS AMAZING!, SHE IS BEAUTIFIL, SHE PLAYS BEAUTIFUL, SHE SINGS BEAUTIFUL...!
Diana Krall is very good. I'm 14 now. My grandma introduced me to her music 10 years ago in 2001 when I was 4.
She is truly one of a kind. She has this very old soul in her that sadly almost no longer exists. Her voice is unmatched and surrounded by amazing musicians.
So sad Amy Winehouse never hooked up with her for a duet before she died.
i'm not sure if there is a voice there...
but the orchestration & virtuosity is delightful...
I'm embarrassed to say I have not listened to this remarkable performer before. This lady has some unusual signature vocal characteristics. I'm no expert whatsoever I just know what I like to listen to. I like this lady singing.
My boss ina great restaurant used to play her music all the time. Over 25 yrs ago
Absolutely out of this world. Merci beaucoup Diana. ❤
What a gorgeous rendition of the song. Just like Diana herself!
DIANNA KRALL: ABSOLUTELY EXQUISITE!!
BEAUTIFUL VOICE!!
SPLENDID ORCHESTRATION AND PERFORMANCE!!
TQ KINDLY. 🌹🌹 🌹
It's the professionalism that keeps me glued to every note. What a pure talent she is.
Her talent is the piano- her genre- jazz and her voice is secondary. She’s one of the best jazz pianists today.
Excelente cantora, a sua elegância é singular. Parabéns!
she has learned how to make the best out of her voice......
Perfect. Almost like a tipsy person trying to reconcile her feelings with the reality. Love her phrasing.
This performance is just simply beyond words!!!!!!
Great rendition of a Classic Song. What a talented woman!!!!!!!
I'm driving crazy with this song of Diana.
Until a month ago, November 2019, I had never heard of Diana Krall, and now I want to hear more of her songs. This is one of my favorites but she sings it in a very sentimental way without creaming it or adding frills like other singers do. She's much better than Buble! Her sound is so romantic.
Pick up her CD 'The Look Of Love.

I've always loved this song, and she knocks it out of the park!
252 people walked on by, and Diana Krall didn't care because 8,000 people stayed :)
I absolutely love Diana Krall and have for a number of years. She is an amazing pianist and singer. She really affects me in a positive way; in a world that is in a huge hurry and all the craziness that is taking place, we all need more calmness and joy in our lives.
Just did a amazing job! it's so calming and bitter sweet, but such is life!
+Minahh spot on
Amen!
She's Canadian. Only Americans can get Jazz right. It's in their DNA. It pulses in the atmosphere. Technically she nails it but I don't feel a thing.
Doug Smith don't tell that to Oscar Peterson or Stan Kenton -- they are also Canadian
Why are not great songs like this written anymore? These are from the 1960's.
Mesmerizing, beautiful, and out of this world. Her voice is unmatched
you love her voice but then give it a score of less than 3? how does that work?
Divina maravilhosa
This music is great. Mr. Bacharach is genius. This is one of his best. Diana does such a wonderful job with it. Peaceful and moving!! And Diana is easy on the eye. Lovely woman.

Well said!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love Krall's version (the Live in Rio)
Her piano is clean and not over done. I think she is underrated as a pianist.
Diana Krall, the epitome of cool and timeless beauty who has the best contralto ever...stay safe...

Diana Krall puts the jazz to Jazz. Her artistry is perfect.

James, I'll check it out...thanks for the heads up! Mark
I simply LOVE this woman. She's won her stakes in jazz, quite rightly.
I've seen a lot (and I mean a LOT) of orchestras and studio bands up close...
I don't know when I've ever seen such uniform concentration on the part of an entire ensemble to get it right.
Totally accomplished, totally professional.

Dank Catita!
and dont forget that burt bacharach was the mastermind composer of this great song
Your wrigt, thank you!
ん@@TacoVeldstraGrutte
It's a song by Burt Bacharach and Hal David (lyrics). Dionne sang the song.
Best modern cover of this David/Bacharach classic, imho. This entire DVD is just as incredible. Trust me.
Are you speaking of David Foster? Along with Burt ?
J'aime beaucoup Diana Krall , tres jolie et tellement talentueuse ,
Je suis d'accord elle est très Belle et j'aime son Rock //Betty de BRETAGNE ;;;Le 10.02.2017

Amazing. So talented. Break every guy's heart with that wedding ring. So fine.
Gosh. Original version is awesome. Orchestra husky voice. Not even close
Gosh, she is so fabulous.
She played at White House for President Obama and First Lady, Michelle.
Burt Bacharach was sitting in the front row, and he was absolutely mesmerized by her.
I will never forget that.
She really delivered that evening.
I believe that was Sheryl Crow dear

This is her own band.

It's her 'intensity' that knocks me out. She 'pushes it' all through her songs. Not the best word 'intensity', hope you get what I mean.

Check out Cheryl Crow's version live at the white house. Blows this version away!!
