@@SynodicScribe It breaks my heart. You and Jo are probably the FFXIV content creators I watched most consistently. You both do great work and these collaborations have been great.

Weird it was Urainger that seemed to be the low teir healer for my FC. Granted his Death spell made some trash mobs go faster but I could never run content with him if I tanked [unless I went warrior] he would let me die. G'raha reminded me of a panicing white mage if I was tanking with so much healing if I so much as scuffed my knee. Alphie seemed pretty much the best at attacking and healing when I was tanking. I tended to notice no difference when DPS though. That said Alphie would stand in AOEs A LOT! To the point GET OUT OF THE FIRE ALPHINAUD is a running joke with my friends.
One extra thing about Thancred's power: at the end of 5.0 where all the scions are facing off against Emet-Selch above the planet, we see all the scions (except for Alphie) attack him. Thancred is the only one that seems to cause him to struggle at all.
I would also add the scene where the scions first arrive in Ultima Thule. When Meteion attacks, Thancred is the only scion who manages to stand and fight. Everyone else, including the WoL and Estinien, are lying on the ground pretty useless in that moment.
Papalymo is like Donald Duck in kingdom hearts 3, a character that you know “ah yeah I know they are considered a powerful mage in the story but they are just a fun party memeber” then they get to the big climatic fight and pulls Zettaflare out of their ass
Jocat! I am happy to see youre on this video, i do hope you one day reconsider and come back to content creation. There are many of us that love you and always will
JoCat says that Estinien is probably the strongest character aside from our Warrior of Light. But I don't know, my man Godbert might have something to say about that.
@@RBNinja counter counter counter argument... If we are removing Scion as a qualification.... Julyan Manderville may have something to say to godbert. Literally the only person he's afraid of, and laid him out in 1 hit in ARR. lmao.
It's hard to watch this knowing that it might be the last bit of Jo Cat content I see. I'm glad it's here I'm just sad that it exists within such an unfortunate context, and I hope in a year or two this comment ages poorly, and that it was just a brief scare.
It was enjoyable to listen to you and JoCat just banter back and forth with each other on this. Hearing two of my favorite creators who do FFXIV content like this was very enjoyable. Honestly agreeable list too. Nice to see a more objective take on these. Absolute shame what’s going on with JoCat and I wish him all the best. He doesn’t deserve what he’s had to deal with lately and I’m glad he seemingly got some joy out of this.
I think you overlooked Minfilia's tenure as the Word of the Mother and Oracle of Light. Being made an avatar of Hydaelyn bumped her magic power up considerably. And it was her controlling every future Minfilia as the front-line warrior of Elumore's campaign against the sin eaters until Ryne.
The problem is all that power that came with being the Word of the Mother wasn't hers, it was Hydaelyn's. It wasn't Minfillia that halted the Flood of Light on her own merit, it was Hydaelyn's power acting through her. Comparatively, even without the Eye of Nidhogg Estinien was still a beast, and without the Crystal Tower G'raha is still impressive.
"the story doesn't tell us how powerful papalemo is" as a player who told him "i'm not leaving you!" papalemon knocks the WoL out and into the air ship, i don't remember any character being able to do that, not even Zenoes. this was such a fun video, i'm sick and needed something to listen to while trying to sleep.
tbf that was a very early WoL. And Zenos kinda... could have easily killed the WoL at the start of Stormblood. Like it wasn't even a contest. He chose to let the WoL live because he saw potential for a rival and all that anime shit. Not that Papalymo isn't powerful, he's stated to be Louisoix's best student, implying more powerful than Shtola, and his feat of containing Shinryu is implied to be extremely impressive even for Scion standards. But I wouldn't say him pushing his friend back a few meters makes him comparable to Zenos lol
To be completely fair, Zenos is Shinryu, and while I get Primalization power scaling is completely relative, this is the dude who flew to the edge of the Universe on his own just to hang out with his homie.
Yeeeeah, I gotta go Team Alisaie on this one. I don't think Alphi is ready for the sheer aggression Alisaie would put into a 1v1. She's spent so much time idolizing the WoL and studying magic with an eye for combat application that Alphinaud's generalism would likely get overwhelmed. If it was a 3v3 or other team format fight though? That's where Alphinaud would turn the tables.
So, blatant Y'shtola apologism ahead, but I think the critique of her Flow uses was a lil harsh. She only ever used the spell in situations where she was 100% going to die otherwise. The first time it was from being overwhelmed by very murderous Brass Blades, the second from fall damage, since only the WoL gets to be immune from that. If I knew I was about to die and knew a spell that gave me a 1% chance of somehow surviving, you bet your ass I'mma spam the shit out of it.
Possible counterpoint suggesting Urianger should be A Tier: He is the Scion dispatched to accompany Thancred on multiple dangerous missions. He's essentially Thancred's go-to support, suggesting a level of competence at spellcraft that should put him at least in the same Tier as Y'shtola.
This was a delight to watch! Hoping JoCat gets some peace of mind and I’ll miss his presence dearly. If you ever make a tier list for the other NPCs I’m definitely looking forward to that!
Glad to see something relating to JoCat, especially when Scribe is involved. If you see this, Jo, then I hope things get better. The internet is a garbage place. Please don't subject yourself to it, and especially not the dumpster fire-slash-echo chamber that is twitter. (Also most mid Scion? How dare!)
Call it Papalymo wank, but i think he's S tier above Louisoix, and I think if he survived to Endwalker, he'd be THE strongest Scion behind WoL. Louisoix had time, prep, incantations, a complete Tupsimati and help from Scions praying to statues of the seven across Eorzea and could only seal Bahamut for a few seconds. Papalymo with 0 time, 0 prep, 0 outside help, a broken Tupsimati and casting the sealing spell for the first time ever from MEMORY, without ever being properly taught it, sealed Shinryu for DAYS. Absolute sleeper monster everyone underestimates imo.
People always sleeping on Lyse and forget she is like the one person other than the WOL Zenos shows any interest in. Did it last long? No but thats more than most everyone else got
Okay so, Urianger, my dude can cast aether manip without a target and death. And he potentially taught himself multiple jobs. He's so shady we have no idea what other skills he could be hiding.
I probably would have put Lyse and Alisaie higher by a tier. Lyse(or Yda?) in 1.x was shown to be able to stand up to Gaius in close combat for a short time. She’s also able to spar with the WOL during Stormblood, but I would assume neither went full sprint so that might be moot. I still wouldn’t put her past low A though. Alisaie is a fight maniac, but I don’t think she can beat Lyse in a straight fight.
I have no idea if either of you will see this message, but I wanted to say thank you for putting this video together! It was fun to watch and listen to your reasonings behind the placement of each Scion (although Tataru is secretly an S+ tier... we just don't know it yet). I've thoroughly enjoyed both of your UA-cam channels, and I sincerely hope that someday JoCat is able to rekindle that passion and desire that led him to create his channel in the first place.
@@SynodicScribeis there a reason why you treated G'raha only getting Exarchs memories when the story and devs made it clear that it was a merging of souls? So our Raha is still a rejoined soul.
@@HaddaClu Because the memories are technically more important. The awkward nature of how they handled the Exarch's soul is not nearly as important as having more than a centuries worth of focused knowledge. Knowledge that involves not only learning dozens of spells and abilities, but mastering them as well.
rejoined soul doesn't really equal stronger, after all we were on a world of people who had a fraction of the scions souls with out seeing much difference compared to someone from the source.
Something to note about Minfillia. In ARR she’s captured twice. Once by Livia, who is a known powerhouse, and once by Nabriales, who is an ascian. How exactly was she supposed to fight in those situations?
Regarding Urianger His dps role is called Lithomancer. He summons specialized carbuncles in place of primal summons. Which, as you said before, throw enough carbuncles at the problem and something will happen
It's always great seeing Jo and you collab on stuff! It was a great time listening to your Scion power tier list! So firstly, you do Princess Peach a great disservice, Scribe! When she's given the chance, Princess Peach can handle herself perfectly well and has evidence for it with some of the games--a match to Mario. Secondly, my money's on Alisaie because to comment on Jo claiming Alphinaud took on some crystal braves as a healer and won--if it's that scene with Yuyuhase--Marshal Pipin saves his butt off screen and meets up with the WoL later. Alphinaud is a tactician yes, but his reaction time needs work and Alisaie can at least overwhelm him if she strikes fast. Though I'm also completely willing to settle on the possibility of a stalemate between them if Alisaie tires herself out trying to get around Alphinaud's defenses and he tires out turtling against her onslaught. You're both amazing, Scribe and Jo!
Jo you're awesome and we all love you. But you're totally wrong about the Twins, Alisae would not only whoop Alphi, but she'd enjoy doing it! :D Thanks for the run guys, it was great to hear the collab between the two of you, too! Happy DawnTrailing!
I have held off on watching this because I don't want to forget how amazing Jocat has been. Nothing but love for him and his family. Continue being amazing, Scribe.
Oddly enough, back in ARR, the other Scions considered Thancred the strongest of the Scions. That was why they agreed to let him investigate the Ascians alone (yeah, I know that didn't work out very well, LOL). Personally I think Lyse was the strongest combat Scion up to Stormblood. In 1.0 she was the only one who was able to knock Gaius back and Fordola had to run from her due to being very obviously outmatched. Not even going in to the fact that she survived going 1v1 with Zenos. Obviously, once we get in to Shadowbringers, the other Scions outstrip her.
I feel like Alisaie deserves higher. In one of the dungeon trusts the boss burrowed underneath the ground and instead of finding a safe spot, she just started spamming fleche all over the place repeatedly. Fleche is a 30(I think) second cooldown ability. Even for the WOL the fastest fleche can be used is twice a minute. But she just sends like 5 out without breaking a sweat. Sure she may not be resilient like Thancred but she has a huge reserve of aether for how young she is relative to everyone else
There is one disagreement I would have with this list and it is going to bat for Tataru. While it was when she was paired with the WoL, she is actually involved in a combat victory in story and thats against Soroban during the Four Lords side story. And that was a fight that well winded your WoL at the time. I would vote for Alisae. Alphi couldn't bear to fight against Alisae... Last but not least love for JoCat. I hope he is able to get the time he needs to heal from the internet's vile behavior.
My vote goes to Alisiae beating Alphinaud, because she'll spot the opening he inevitably leaves as their fight stretches out, and likely call it a fluke that she won ever after. I love the list, and the discussion. I hope you are both well, and my deepest sadness that JoCat has been enduring such despicable harrassment. I hope you both have a very relaxing and fulfilling festive season, and that your interests and passions continue to bring you joy.
One thing with our sweet lad Urianger that's interested me was his DPS job in Mothercrystal was called Lithomancer, which is super evocative of Geomancer. I wonder if he borrowed some Hingan tech like how the WoL is implied to in the AST quests, but maybe focused more on offensive applications or something I have no idea.
Listening to the case of Papalymo gave me an instant chill down my back. I clearly remember him casting a spell that gave lyse the power to LB3. We know how LBs work now and for him just to hand it out Instantly with very little prep?! He could have gave elidibus a run for his money.
Can I do a small objection on technicality? You do technically meet Alphinaud & Alisae before Y'shtola, while on the boat to Limsa Lominsa in the opening cutscene. Also, if we take DT in consideration, then you could bump up Krile to B tier, now when she's a Pictomancer.
S. G'raha Tia, Louisoix, Estinien, Y'shtola. A. Papalymo, Urianger, Thancred, B. Krile, Alisaie, Alphinaud, C. Moenbryda, Lyse, Arenvald, Minfilia D. Tataru, F'lhaminn
@@cablefeed3738 I just think she has enough feats to put her in low A tier below Papalymo and Thancred. In 1.0 she was the only scion who was able to damage Gaius in their fight against him. In the Stormblood trailer she's able to spar with and match the WoL in strength. She fights Zenos along with the WoL during Duty Support Ala Mhigo and was able to damage Elidibus possessed Zenos in the Ghymlyt Dark, breaking his armored helm which Hien and Yugiri were unable to. She's able to throw out LB3's on several occasions without any help. As of Shadowbringers she's receiving Monk training from Widargelt, making her even stronger and may possibly have unlocked some of her chakras by 7.0. In my humble opinion this warrants a low A tier ranking.
Havent seen it myself but I have heard that Urianger will cast death in trusts so he does have some good offense for people on his level or below it. Anyways, we are going to miss you Jocat.
I haven't finished the list (still watching!) so i dont know if its brought up later but why didnt minfilias oracle powers get discussed? Am i mistaken to think that her ability to halt the flood of light from Eden could even make her High A or low S tier?
We didn't include that because that was more Hydaelyn than Minfillia. Simply put, without Hydaelyn's power Minfillia wouldn't have be able to do any of those feats. For example, the Crystal Exarch was still powerful despite being far away from the Crystal Tower, and Estinien is still a beast without the Eye of Nidhogg.
@@SynodicScribe a fair point! I assumed that was the case. I am currently at the urianger bit. It does make sense that he can act as a smn without the summons, as before he was an astrologian he was an arcanist if I remember correctly. I also completely side with you that Alisaie would mop the floor with her brother.
When will people learn to STOP GIVING THE SMOL ONES GUNS!!!!!! Seriously people; the potatoes don't need any more weapons of mass destruction in their tiny hands.
my fc is doing a poll tournament for "favorite female/male npc". We finished our women's bracket and Y'shtola came in 2nd behind mama (you know who she is). We're now on the men's bracket and I'm scared
Hold the fuck up! People in the comments talking about Jocat drama and I had to look it up cause I had no idea and now that I know I’m so mad that people bullied him off YT like that. And the I like girls video is fantastic. Anyone so offended by it that they bullied this guy off YT can just fuck off. God I’m actually mad I’m not getting more Jocat content because of these bullies
I’m curious to see if Krile gets a buff to her power level in Dawntrail as expectation is she’ll be rocking our new Caster. Also Alisaie would absolutely bully the snot out of Alphi in a fight. Don’t get me wrong Alphi is smart and calm but I feel he’s still a bit too soft and “Diplomatic” and in his hesitation. Alisaie would absolutely thrash him. Also can’t wait for Dawntrail to confirm this list when the scions are split. Lastly, I’m glad two of the best FFXIV boys got in potentially one last collab. What Jo is going through is absolutely awful, and I hope at some point maybe things subside where he feels comfortable returning. I mean most of my knowledge when I started FFXIV was from his “crap” guides. Either way I wish Jo all the best on his future adventures no matter what form they take.
And one last comment, on Kryle... yeah I'm coming to this over half a year late obviously, and I've seen what DT changed, so I have to wonder what the DT changes did to Kryle's position in the tier list, because her spot HAD to have moved from her new... talents.
34:00 - I'd guess they'd tie up. Alphie is more tactical, Alisaie is a better fighter. Both can heal themselves, but Alphie would have obvious advantage on that part. But thing is... They know each other too well. They'd predict the other's move before they act.
I hadnt heard about any crap JoCat got, but he is a very creative person and it would be sad to know his creativity isnt put to use for others to see. Whatever he decides to do after this break, I hope he is healthy, well, and shoves a great middle finger in the face of all that decide to be so rude. Scribe, keep up the great work and great collaborations. I love your work and its great to listen to while im working during the day.
Just a small detail but Arenvald actually shows up way back in the Waking Sands in ARR as a side scion npc alongside the grizzled eye patch male miqo'te and periodically appears afterwards but I know Hoary Boulder kinda takes the main background scion npc back then so no biggie
Also, for Estinien, he was a Temple Knight for many years before he even became the Azure Dragoon, killed a LOT of dragons including Nidhogg, and he did recon in Garlemald and held his own against Zenos. Plus, Mr. Lone Wolf tends to just go off on his own in his travels. So, I believe he has far more survival training than Thancred and literally anyone else on the list.
We'll miss you, JoCat. Also, given what we see and get told and implied in all of XIV, I'm 100% certain Alisaie was the dominant one over Alphinaud as a kid and could put him in a headlock 10/10 times.
the one feat that i've never seen anyone else really notice is at the end of ShB fighting Emet, in the cut scene, while Emet just swaps away the other scions attacks, when Thancred attacks, he has to actually put effort in and change to two hands. that is all.
In regards to Minfilia, I know in Final Fantasy recordkeeper, the mobile game which I believe is now defunct, She had a paladin skill set for some reason. How much that actually transfers back to 14 however, who is to say?
Honestly the Lyse/yda thing is so annoying to me. I don't mind lyse, I think she's a cool character, but i really dislike what they did to yda. she was probably my favorite ARR scion, and I would've loved to see more of the bubbly woman but they denied us that. We never got someone like that again
You are also forgetting that Thancred was made a puppet by an Ascian for a while. Essentially being pushed aside by a being that used his body as a host. That he recovers both physically and mentally without much as a scratch speaks volumes about his strength of will.
With regards to Moenbryda, I think she basically lands as a strictly better Lyse (when considered as a solo act). Of her few accomplishments, her combat skill is about on par with Lyse, both leaving piles of lesser combatants laying about a battlefield and still being able to go. However, she also, unlike Lyse, has a Sharlayan education, and is among the foremost experts with aetherytes. So this puts her above Lyse, but because we know so little about her otherwise, placing her higher is trickier. Also of note, Lyse doing what she does sans Sharlayan education, basically taking up the mantle of her sister, a scion with said education, and holding her own as Papalymo's best teammate can not be understated. She really does serve as the best baseline of CQC and combative expertise that every other scion needs to be measured against (and Thancred and Estinien do so with aplomb).
I'm undecided on the twins as well, honestly I feel like it would go to whoever was most annoyed at their sibling at the time. Also all the love to JoCat you did nothing to deserve the hate and vitriol that's being sent at you from people who have nothing better todo than make others miserable
I think that's a fair ranking for G'raha, but of note, he is as a result of his effective double life the most flexible of the scions. His combat style flexibility is only surpassed by one other thusfar, and if we had a current age G'raha with a killer instinct... well, that's just the Warrior of Light at that point. It's a necessary narrative weakness to avoid having G'raha just become WoL 2 Electric Boogaloo.
Tataru maybe a character has a strongest in term of "Dynamis" a mysterious power that depended on an "Emotion". Maybe that why her Carbuncle become a sentient and wonder on their own without feeding the Aether from their Master.
Urianger's signature Trust Spell is DEATH OF THE SEVENTH DAWN, and he can obliterate enemies with a one hit kill spell. Overthink? He's plotted and moved around the other scions without them ever realizing it. The man is in A in raw combat, and like Papalymo, if prepared he'd be High A.
Iirc papalymo was able to imprison the primal before it fully manifeted into what it would. He caught it at the right time to essentially stall it from being completely summoned. With that said, no easy feat alone.
On the question of Alphenaud vs Alisae, it depends what version of Alphenaud you’re talking about, Academician or Sage. Though they’re not the same, I’m gonna equate Academician to Scholar for the sake of simplicity, since the only reason he’s not one is that only the Warrior or Light can be a scholar now. Basically what we’re looking at is a Red Mage vs a Scholar/Sage. Since both are the same age and are extremely skilled in their professions, it kinda boils down to a job comparison. Looking at the lore for these, there’s not much I can really say about Sage, since I don’t know the job very well. Scholar however, actually wins against Red Mage. In both game and lore, Red Mage has less outright power than Black Mage. During the war of the Magi, the Scholars of Nym held back the Black Mages of Mahk until they spread plague. No way a Red Mage can overcome a Scholar when even the Black Mages couldn’t. If we’re looking at Sage Alphenaud, I can’t tell which twin wins. But if it’s Scholar Alphenaud he wins hands down.
I feel like there isn't much reason for Estinien being S tier outside gravelly Solid Snake voice. He blew up a cannon once in Garlemald that's about all the reasoning I heard for putting a lvl 50 job quest boss there.
I would argue that Louisoix is top S tier. He punched a dragon through a meteor. The fact that he was able to pull that off shows how knowledgeable, skillful, and powerful he could become when pushed far enough. And yeah, I know. it was technically a power boost that he received that enabled him to do this. And yeah, it did kill him. But dude... He punched...a dragon... through a fucking meteor.
Jocat, you will be greatly missed. Best wishes on whatever you get into next. I agree with this list with one exception. I would absolutely put Graha at the top of S tier over Estinien. He can smoothly switch between all the roles, he has studied the history of the Scions and the WoL (which includes Estinien) so he would not be caught off guard by his tactics. Honestly, the only person I would put him below is the WoL, and honestly, if we were to disappear, I think he would fill that role just fine.
She's not performed any crazy feats yet so I can't put her super high on the list. But simply expanding her knowledge of spellcraft easily bumps her up to B at the very least.
For the most part I agree with this list. (Moenbryda would have been B tier for me) But I'm more curious to know how these characters would rank after Dawntrail? Perhaps you and JoCat can do a follow up following the events of 7.0? I'm willing to bet my $40 million Gil that Krile's role in 7.0 will have her move up to B, maybe even A tier! She's going to have a major role in the next expansion, going to be the new magic DPS job, she's going to do something amazing that will have her move up this list! Also, Alisaie would CRUSH Alphinaud (Sorry JoCat, but instead of the Wolves Den, perhaps a friendly game of triple triad at the Gold Saucer, or enjoying beverages at Your favorite Eorzean Pub would be preferred.)
Alright, with regards to the twins, I don't know who wins it, but I can see how each of them would get a win. If Alisaie has a proper ambush, or is otherwise able to get a fight started with her brother unprepared, I think she wins. If Alphinaud can muster a proper defense and counterattack, or is in the (unlikely for him) aggressive position, I think he wins. This is because both have the same stamina issue for being underaged, meaning attrition is a fight that both lose. But both are fully aware of that. Alisaie would be trying to go for a quick incapacitation, and Alphinaud would be trying to do the same (albeit, more likely from a defensive position due to his mentality. So a good first strike from one wins, and a good counter attack off a properly blocked first attack probably also wins. Even if that attack isn't the final one, it will likely be the decisive one.
Tataru should be S tier. With her connections and money, she could not only find an assassin capable of killing any individual Scion but just pour the coffers out to make sure the job is done. No one can stop her overwhelming force of money
Counterpoint on the Y'shtola V Thancred 1v1: Y'shtola can polymorph people into toads, and I wouldn't discount that as something in her toolkit, especially if we're weighing her use of Flow, ability to conjure familiars, etc. and comparing it to the CQC knowledge and physical prowess that Thancred has, up to and including stopping his heart to defeat Ranjit. Further thancred cannot bypass his aether limitations via those gunblade bullets without a mage or person of aether charging them. A role that both Ryne, any scion in the trust party fills for him to be able to make up his disadvantage. I'd firmly place Thancred and Y'shtola into lower A tier based on combat prowess with a full toolkit and zero time for complex advanced preparation
I actually liked Alphinaud through ARR. 😂 I get that most would think it’s _very_ nice to say he’s _precocious_ instead of _arrogant,_ but I see him as just being confident. He’s probably a bit too confident, but it makes sense given he’s a teenager and probably an early graduate from whatever academy. Plus, he’s got to live up to Louisoix, and that’ll put pressure on ya!
Only 23min in, but have to add one thing. Lyse and Papalymo cover each other's weaknesses perfectly, both in combat and otherwise. As a team, they were S tier, and probably one of the strongest teams in the game, not just the scions.
Not to discredit Papalymos achievement of sealing shinryu but i thoguht he required Tupsimati to accomplish that? Not that it takes awau from his feat but its less using juat his own aether
This episode was amazing. I hope that JoCat sees all the love he's getting in the comments and knows that the community loves him. The haters can get fucked. I have to argue about tataru being D tier though. That carbuncle she summoned NEVER disappeared. She has the potential to be a very powerful summoner if she stuck with it. She should be C tier at least.

If you run dungeons with Alphinaud, your confidence in his healing abilities massively decreases.
I remember running a damage meter just to see how much damage Alphinaud's Miasma casts actually do. They do 0.
When I was running the Mothercrystal he kept running tangentially into an AoE and died
Hydaelyn clearly hated him

@DrMurasaki, well, he is a tank.
Whatever jocat chooses to do after this I hope he finds peace in it. He deserves that much and more.
Counter argument. Godbert is not a Scion. Estinien is definitely the scion best aside from the WoL.
Counter Counter argument at 43:55 JoCat says "strongest character in the game". But yeah 100% strongest scion. @@shangriisgamecorner

10:37 …….well……yeah……that literally happened in heavensward Flow threw thancred out into the Dravanian hinterlands butt ass naked
Im glad you two were able to collab together
How dare!)
I see alphinaud and allisae as the spear versus the shield story. Like they’re equal power and would probably cancel each other out
Call it Papalymo wank, but i think he's S tier above Louisoix, and I think if he survived to Endwalker, he'd be THE strongest Scion behind WoL.
On one of your starting points for Thancred, he already HAS survived being thrust randomly into the wild, and WITHOUT the clothes on his back
People always sleeping on Lyse and forget she is like the one person other than the WOL Zenos shows any interest in. Did it last long? No but thats more than most everyone else got
Agreed. I mean watch the Stormblood trailer, that's not B tier.
Okay so, Urianger, my dude can cast aether manip without a target and death. And he potentially taught himself multiple jobs. He's so shady we have no idea what other skills he could be hiding.
He didn't learn many jobs. He learned arcanist, invoker, and astrologian
Who would win, one roegadyn alisaie or 20 lalafell alphinauds?
Finally giving my boy big Papi some RESPECT!
GRIDANIA GANG RISE UP
Alisae would win, hands down. If for no reason other than Alphie having a soft spot for his sister lol
You forgot that the Exarch also was more powerful for being rejoined one more time than anyone.
True, but being rejoined 1 extra time was kind inconsequential when compared to having a tower sized aetherial battery to draw upon. haha
@@siyrean You mean the world where, outside of Ranjiit, the Scions were the most powerful fighters the world had?
Something to note about Minfillia. In ARR she’s captured twice. Once by Livia, who is a known powerhouse, and once by Nabriales, who is an ascian.
How exactly was she supposed to fight in those situations?
Regarding Urianger
His dps role is called Lithomancer. He summons specialized carbuncles in place of primal summons. Which, as you said before, throw enough carbuncles at the problem and something will happen
I refuse to believe this is the last collab between JoCat and Scribe nor the last content Jo will ever make. I will huff that copium all day.
HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS EXISTED I AM SO HAPPY I GET TO WATCH THIS BOTH OF YALL MAKE ME SO HAPPY!!!
Jo you're awesome and we all love you. But you're totally wrong about the Twins, Alisae would not only whoop Alphi, but she'd enjoy doing it! :D Thanks for the run guys, it was great to hear the collab between the two of you, too! Happy DawnTrailing!
Not going to lie, without Aether deficiency Thancred would be the strongest Scion on par with WoL.
The fact he pulls A tier WITHOUT Aether makes him scary.
14:00 - Thancred is like the Rock Lee of the Scions.
You did my boy Hoary Boulder dirty
Pretty sure Urianger used Arcanist spells back in ARR. So it's not that weird.
S. Louisoix, G’raha, Estinien, Y’shtola
A. Papalymo, Thancred, Lyse, Urianger
B. Alisaie, Alphinaud
C. Arenvald, Moenbryda, Krile
D. Minfilia, Tataru
The aether deficiency part took me off guard. Well done! That's the first time in a long time that i actively spit out my water.
Listening to the case of Papalymo gave me an instant chill down my back. I clearly remember him casting a spell that gave lyse the power to LB3. We know how LBs work now and for him just to hand it out Instantly with very little prep?! He could have gave elidibus a run for his money.
You wanna talk about Thancred's force of will? In UT, everybody else opened a path. This Chad stabilized the entire area so we could explore it.
A. Papalymo, Urianger, Thancred,
B. Krile, Alisaie, Alphinaud,
C. Moenbryda, Lyse, Arenvald, Minfilia
D. Tataru, F'lhaminn
Lyse is A tier
@xyltk why do you say that? I could see Lyse being low, B rank maby but A.
Anyways, we are going to miss you Jocat.
about thancred... he literally has been thrown into the wilderness, even without any cloths on his back once
Papalymo is absolutely the hidden badass of the Scions and will always be S Tier in my heart. Man was amazing and gets forgotten too often.
Now I wonder where Tataru would place if she discovered the machinist guild in Ishgard
It wasn't fair that a bunch of entitled assholes got the last say.
Also, Urianger should be higher on the list. Solid A or S tier. Just sayin'. ;)
It's kind of interesting that Kriel is one of the motherly figures of the scions, as she's also one of the younger members
Also RIP my boy Riol, King of B team, keeping all the homies safe.
Looking forward to this being revisited after dawn trail
In regards to Minfilia, I know in Final Fantasy recordkeeper, the mobile game which I believe is now defunct, She had a paladin skill set for some reason. How much that actually transfers back to 14 however, who is to say?
Sadly Y'shtola fake sacrificed herself before the fight began so her opponent automatically wins.
JoCat, we love you!!!!!
We
Alphi could take Alisaie any day of the week and take her through a loop before she ends up flat on the floor.
Didn't Thancred get thrown into the wilderness WITHOUT his clothes on his back and still survived?
Where do you place Pictomancer Krile?
She's not performed any crazy feats yet so I can't put her super high on the list.
But simply expanding her knowledge of spellcraft easily bumps her up to B at the very least.
For Louisoix, is this regular Louisoix or Primal Louisoix?
If Alphinaud actually knew how to Kardia himself, I'd give him the edge in staying power. But I'm pretty sure he doesn't.
When we came to Tataru, I was thinking - she's either S or D - there's no inbetween.
