The character in the Illidan cinematic here, their name is Kor'vas Bloodthorn. The person that Illidan "lost" was a woman named Tyrande Whisperwind. She's not dead, but she couldn't reciprocate his feelings towards her and chose to be with Malfurion, Illidan's twin brother. (There's a long but pretty good story between the 3 characters) Glad you're still enjoying the Wow cinematics
She loved Illidan, but she had feelings towards Malfurion as well. Basically when Illidan start practising fel magic and demonology that pushed Tyrande towards his brother. Malfurion always been the 2nd choice :D
@@7VNC7 not quite. Malfurion was always first choice. Illidan was fun choice, haha, and was not a choice at all after the demonic stuff. At least according to The War of the Ancients and Warcraft 3.
Hey there! It's me again with some story time! Gul'dan: Not much to add to this one, as everything is self-explanatory: Gul'dan was ostracised by his clan so he turned to fel magic to take vengeance. This is actually alt Gul'dan's backstory, as og Gul'dan was banished because he had dealings with demons. The outcome is the same but the reasons are different. Illidan: Ah, Illidan. The unsung hero of the Warcraft universe. The reason why he's talking so much about being prepared is that it's a callback to the Burning Crusade cinematic (YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!). The lady who questions him is Kor'vas Bloodthorn who is an NPC in the game itself (if I remember correctly, she's one of the lieutenants of the Illidari by the time the Legion expansion comes around. She's not Illidan's lover though, as he only ever loved Tyrande, who's with Malfurion who happens to be Iliidan's twin brother. The great sacrifice the Illidari make is that they force a demon inside themselves and take their own eyes (hence the blindfolds) so that they can combat the Burning Legion with their own power. A "fight fire with fire" approach. Naturally, this makes them extremely susceptible to demonic influence which is why they're shunned by Azerothian societies (and yes, sometimes they do fall and join the Legion). They are very much anti-heroes and when they say they're willing to sacrifice everything to stop the Legion, they do mean *everything* . Khadgar: Khadgar is cool, he was our primary "guide" of sorts throughout Warlords of Draenor and he constantly made puns so he's dubbed the Dad of Warcraft by some. Karazhan was the tower of Medivh when he was still alive and Khadgar was his apprentice and friend which is why he goes there to search for a way to stop the Legion. The penultimate Guardian was Medivh's mother Aegwyn and she didn't want to return the power to the Council of Tirisfal because she thought that they were all idiots (I'm not even joking, that was the core of her reasoning). Instead, she wanted to pass the power on to someone who she deemed worthy. Naturally, that could only be family, which is why she had a child (Medivh). While she was pregnant with him, she battled the Avatar of Sargeras whom she defeated. Unbeknownst to her, however, a piece of Sargeras's soul attached to Medivh which is why he became corrupted when he became the Guardian and let the Orcs in, leading to the very first Warcraft game. Khadgar and Anduin Lothar (another one of Medivh's friends) killed him for it finally setting his soul free.
I've been rewatching you two's reactions to all Warcraft cinematics for the fifth time now, and I never get tired of it. It already feels so amazing watching the cinematics on their own, but your reactions make it feel even more homey and nostalgic.
Gul'dan, the first Orcish warlock, also known as "Darkness incarnate" has always been my favourite Warcraft villain. Sure, Arthas (the lich king) is cool, Illidan (pre-redemption) is fine etc but you can't beat a 100% power-mad, evil-to-the-core badass like Gul'dan!
Is guldan became a servant to sargeras ?? Is that why he killed all the village including the one who helped him as a sacrifice? Or am i getting everything wrong? XD
@@amiasa696 I mean I think he would have killed them anyway. He needed the power of the Legion to do it, but most certainly didn't do it on their orders. Which is one of the things that make him stand out. So many Blizzard villains were corrupted as they came into contact with some mcguffin, or road-to-hell-is-paved-with-good-intentions kind of thing. Gul'dan sought the demons out himself. Tragic backstory or no, he's entirely unrepentant from start to finish. But yes he did become a servant of the Legion. He made contact with Sargeras' lieutenant Kil'Jaeden the Deceiver, which is the whole reason why the orcs invaded Azeroth in the first place. The Tomb of Sargeras was on Azeroth, and Kil'jaeden was like "Go get it, boy!" and basically started the Warcraft storyline.
With Gul’dan, the elements tend to only show themselves to the humbled as shamans serve the elements and preserve balance. It’s seen as a honor to be chosen by them. However, when they extended to him, he reached out to them - when they reeled back, he extended further to seize them. It’s a flicker, but you can catch his rage and desire for control over others. They didn’t abandon him - they fled.
Blizzard has additionally released the cool audiobook about these three and the start of the Legion expansion. It's an hour long compilation: "The Tomb of Sargeras : The Complete Audio Drama" Could you maybe tell us your thoughts about this book, if you'd find a free hour while you're on the road trip or something. Love your reactions, wish you all the best!
Love your reactions, I get excited when you guys do Warcraft stuff because it's like watching my journey all over again! Can't wait for the next one. :)
I have watched tons of Warcraft reactions over past couple years but yours are truly above the rest. I eagerly wait for each Warcraft video from your channel and happy to hear that you guys will be binging the remaining ones.
I remember unleashing a monster in Dalaran ("MY city", as Khadgar introduced it when I got there) and the only thought in my mind as it had me in its claws was "oh no Khadgar will be mad!". Man was he such and impactful character
Khadgar is argueble the strongest magic user along side Jaina Proudmoore in this world. It´s hard to really tell who is the stronger 1 as for the most part they dont use there offensive power all that mutch but they instead acts in a more supporting role with there magic. Personally i think Jaina is a step above Khadgar as she has shown more offensive feats but honestly its hard to tell. It would be intresting to se how powerful any of these 2 would truly be if they got the power boost of the guardian without being corrupted. EDIT: Have they reacted to "the Gift" yet? Turn up the volume for that 1 and u will get chills.
These trailers feels a lot like motivation-boosters, though in various means. :) Starting with Khadgar, who believes in unity, cooperation and the good ol' strength-in-numbers mentality in general. One can indeed get by with the exclusive human determination and will-power; if you believe in yourself, anything is possible (a saying some in our family value alot), but most times, you need assistance, in the form of good friends etc. Illidan takes it a long step further by, very much like you two stated, almost becoming the very enemy themselves, using their own evil and cold-hearted style against them. If you can't beat them, (almost) join them. And then we got the individual on the Orcs' side, who sunk so deep into his anger and despisal for those and that he hated, thus downright becoming a evil person himself. In total, it's like 3 versions of how to deal with threats and hardships: The determined, but noble way, by means of uniting and standing together. The desperate path, adapting to the foes' mentality and utilizing it to fight them. And the "bad ending", where you succumb to the despair and other negative thoughts, and go mad in real Darth Vader style. True strenght lies within. ^_^ Overcoming hardships and times of darkness requires much more energy and force than physical tests can give. Personally meant.
It is important to point out once again that this Gul'dan in Harbiingers is different from the one that originally came with the horde invasion. This one is from the time-line where Warlords of Draenor comes from. Many things are different in terms of history of characters. Gul'dan in the original was a Shaman taught by Ner'zhul with Kil'jaeden first contacting Ner'zhul before shifting to Gul'dan. Gul'dans clan the Stormreaver was also intact for the invasion. As you can see by the video it isn't the case for Warlords of Draenor Gul'dan.
I love watching your videos. I really enjoy watching trailers with other people and even though I can't live interact with you two, it still feels crowded and it's a lot of fun seeing your reactions too. Have a nice day.
Gul'dan was born a broken Orc, he coveted power and that's why the elements avoided him, they saw the darkness in his soul, and why the Legion sought him out. Illidan as a young Druid didnt understand what his mentor meant about Sacrifice, but when the time of The Sundering came, Illidan sacrificed EVERYTHING to protect Azeroth and the woman he loved, first he sacrificed his eyes, then he sacrificed the lives of Night Elves who followed him, as he needed their life force to channel greater magics... then he sacrificed his body, turning him half-demon and riddling it with scars to seal the demonic energy within... but then in the end he sacrificed his love, as he pushed her away into his own brother's arms. his weapons are The Warglaives of Azzinoth, he slain a powerful Pit Lord and took the blades as his own. Medivh was a good guy, but he was born possessed with Sargeras' soul, which laid dormant within him until The Legion returned once again, now Khadgar is the closest that Azeroth has to a Guardian. which btw a Guardian is a High Wizard, imbued with the magical energies of several powerful Mages, so think of Khadgar as WoW's version of Gandalf. :P glad to see that you guys watched these, your cinematic journey in WoW is nearing it's end... but if you want MORE, you only need to seek out the lore of Warcraft.
The WOW and Warcraft universe are some of the best fantasy there is...so many good memories of playing WOW with my friends and family...it is a very welcoming game and was one of the first I ever played that had a large female player base and a video game girls actually wanted to play a with me.
A bit late, but perhaps who a Guardian is, should be elaborated upon. Guardian is a chosen mage, meant to protect Azeroth. All powerful mages, surge their powers into an individual so he has the power far greater than any other. There were many Guardians, always one at a time, once Guardian grew old, he would transfer his power to the next one, and so the cycle continued. This went like this for generations, until Aegwynn became the guardian, she took the power, and used it to achieve immortality. She served as a guardian for hundreds of years, but became selfish in the process, other mages started to fear an individual keeping guardians power indefinitely, and began to ask her to transfer the power to another. After a while, Aegwynn agreed, however she chose to elect next guardian herself, instead of allowing council to choose one. Aegwynn chose her son - Medivh. However, before that occurred, when she was still a Guardian, one of foes she defeated was an Avatar of Sargeras, leader of the Burning Legion. Avatar fell, but pieces of Sargeras's soul, struck Aegwynn, and hid within her. Soul was insignificant, and did not pose threat to Aegwynn herself, however, once she gave birth to Medivh, soul moved into the child, and warped him since the very begining. Fast forward many years, Medivh is a guardian, he is fulfilling his duties well, however he is also working on another project, creating the Dark Portal. A gate which would connect Azeroth and Draenor (world of Orc's) Medivh created pathway for Orc's to enter Azeroth on this planet, while Gul'Dan created pathway on Draenor, both of whom, were controlled by The Burning Legion. Medivh started losing himself into the other soul in his body more and more, until eventually Sargeras was close to completely taking over. Once Medivh went mad, Khadgar struck him down, putting an end to Medivh. Many years later, Medivh's Echo did return to the Azeroth, clear of Fel Madness he led Orc's, Humans and Night Elf, to cooperate against the Burning Legion. (Story of Warcraft 3). Extend of Medivh's power is unknown, and he chose to let mortals take care of the world. What happened to him after the invasion is unknown, but as he said himself, future of the world resided in mortal hands, and guardian was no longer needed, and then, his goodbye was: "And now, that my task is done, I will take my place, among the legends, of the past" indicating that he is gone for good. As such, Echo of Medivh that was seen in the cinematic, was not the one clear of corruption, but rather just a Demon pretending to be Medivh, to trick Khadgar into becoming Legion's pawn.
I'm unsure if she's an actual named character but someone said it that she was Kor'vas and that's who I had in mind as well so yes, I think she is Kor'vas still she is just an NPC though not a whole lot going on, cause almost ALL of the illidari and I mean like 99% of them have the same backstory as her of losing everything they had to demons so the only way they found themselves to be able to fight back was joining Illidan, their whole story is based on the questionable decision of absorbing a demon's soul to fight other demons, cause Illidan believes the only way you can be powerful enough to defeat the legion is through their own powers, that's why pretty much 99% of the other major characters hate him (Well up until Legion Expansion he kinda gets the hero role in that.) He's overall the most loved character in whole warcraft franchise though mainly cause of his EXTREMELY UNIQUE personality, looks and motives that not a whole lot of other games and books really played around with.
He isn't "the most loved" though. Not by a majority or by most or however you'd picture it. The writing around him is not much stronger than cool one-liners and some "strange turn of events" over the course of the game(s). He is pretty cool. When he's around stuff happens. For better or worse. So he's a good character but don't overdo it. Arthas arc is generally more beloved by story geeks, and there are multiple characters still alive today with equal or stronger pull with players. Even if the writing is kinda meh in many parts of the game.
The Female Demon Hunter in that video is Kor'vas Bloodthorn, she's not Illidan's Lover, as Illidan has forever pined for Tyrande Whisperwind. But Tyrande's heart has always belonged to his brother Malfurion Stormrage. Which unsurprisingly has created lots of tension between the brothers in the past and present. Kor'vas you see in the actual game as an NPC and she comes along on some quests, she's become a very determined Hunter and despises the Burning Legion to her core. The Illidari Army while impressive does have the downside of due to being infused with Demonic Essence they have the constant temptation to give into the Demonic Side and become full fledged Demons, and join the Burning Legion. Which has unfortunately happened a few times. As while the Illidari can be heroes, they are despised by most others because of being half demon. So anyone that became an Illidari because they wanted to be a 'Hero' and be praised, will most likely end up being turned by the Legion when they don't get that heroes welcome. Where as the Illidari that join because they despise the legion for taking their family and loved ones, whose thoughts are primarily destroying the legion and realizing they will probably never be seen as a 'hero' except by a few as they exist in the shadows. Those are the ones most likely to resist temptation and stay the course.
@@maxmichalik4938 I don't think it makes them want to follow sargeras specifically due to going full demon. Its more you become full demon because you want to join the legion, because Fel is a corrupting influence, its a drug, its power, the ability to take what you want, its addicting. Demon Lords promise to give you more power and give you more of that feeling, just give into the demonic and join them. Obviously there are exceptions and such. Like Illidan consumed the Skull of Gul'dan and basically became a full demon, but he doesn't serve Sargeras, he still serves his own ambitions. As to why demons follow Sargeras, thats literally mostly because Sargeras can kick their ass. He imprisoned them originally, then when he went mad freed them basically going "Serve me or Else."
Oh god I was way too overexcited for this :D I love the two of you and I love Warcraft trailers so it only makes sense that this made my evening! Big love from Slovakia, babies
The woman that Illidan lost, Tyande, is actually still alive, she just chose his twin over him. She filled a minor role in games but began ramping up starting the Legion expansion. And while there are several Demon Hunters with names and backstories, the woman unfortunately isn't any of them from what I can remember
Good reaction guys! Illidan love a woman that called Tyrande, but you gonna see her in the future in the Shadowlands expansion. She is realy good character too, such as illidan with sharp personality traits and patriotism.
I've stumbled across your channel in the last couple of days, and I honestly love seeing how diverse the content is, Resident Evil, World of Warcraft, and League of Legends are all special interests of mine in particular and I have so enjoyed going through watching all this content! I love seeing the surface-level reactions and dipping your toes into all kinds of stories and watching your interest grow, there's something so wholesome about it and I'd love to do the same with my partner now, so thank you!
Welcome! 🥳🥳 Glad you are enjoying the diverse content. There’s so much for us to explore and we love that. Community here helps introduce us to all kinds of content ☺️
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames I actually can't believe I forgot to mention Mortal Kombat also since that's like an early gaming memory lmao but I love seeing the reactions, would love to see what you guys think of the rest of the Silent Hill franchise since you reacted to PT!
Illidan is the best one, and Khadgar second, You true, if Gul'dan was treathed kindly, maybe he will turn to something else, but in the end was Kil'Jaeden who whispered to him. You remember in The Burning Crusader trailer, at the end when Illidan flys up and says "You are not prepared" and in this harbringer he say "You are prepared" I hope you watch Legion cinematiics from beginning when they talks about Illidan how he became what he is now.
Im really excited to see the video/reaction for the Legion videos, Legion in my opinion was one of the best in terms of story out of all the expansions.
There's a novel called "Illidan" that takes place during Burning Crusade and is a prelude to Legion. It goes into HEAVY detail regarding the Illidari, who they are, how they're made, their training, and their relationship with Illidan as a leader. If you liked that second cinematic you would absolutely love that book; Illidan's Demon Hunters are some of the most badass mfs in the Warcraft canon.
Really enjoyed your reactions! You two are gold and thank you for doing that :) Cant wait for you to watch Warbringers series of WoW videos and all cinematics with Sylvanas!
The girl demon hunter is called Kor'vas Bloodthorn, she has a role in the legion levelling experience, but mostly in the demon hunter class quests. Unfortunately she isn't a big character and hasn't appeared since legion.
Nice to see the world of Warcraft series to come back and I really like the illidan story. Speaking of illidan someone on overwatch have a skin called illidan. Genji has that skin btw and it looks pretty cool and it’s also rare so that’s probably never coming back unless if you can get a code for it lol. Amazing reaction love y’all xoxo :)
the book out there called "illidan" goes into his past in alot more detail, also highly detailing how you trully become a demon hunter which is to eat the heart of a demon to absorb its soul. they constantly are at war with the demon within to keep control of themselves and use the power to fight other demons. one of his students almost fail in overcoming the demon after it convinces him he has become exactly what slaughtered his child thousands of years ago and he tries to tear the scales that grew on him off, almost bleeding out from self harm
Oh man, I'd love to see you guys watch "Rejection of the Gift", it was an in-game cinematic featuring mostly Illidan. But it may require reading some context of the story first.
I believe the women in the harbinger is US viewers / players -The women you've seen in the past is "Tyrande she's Illidans brothers wife" He loved her since childhood but she choose Malfurion , Illidans brother . There is a class you can pick "Demon Hunter" so i think this basically answers peoples question why should i be part of "Illidari"
My favourite is always Kadghar, he's really cool and funny character. Always like to do dad jokes and nicknamed Dadghar. Ok so my breakdown. 1:55 - just as Guldan said....none of this characters are known, but the voice calling him is supposed to be Kiljaeden. 8:04-. Kor'vas bloodthorn (girl questions the Illidian) - one of main followers if Illidian, one of 3 major demonhunters in Illidari. Doomlord Azgorth - he's a legion commander in charge of planning invasions. 12:14 - Kadghar - he's arguably strongest mage alive, student of Medive. Main role in Warcraft movie backbone of wow story. He's also In WOD cinematics. Medive - the Guardian of the world, strongest mage ever lived. You saw him turn into a crow In Warcraft 3 cinematics. (The random Dreadlord) - powerful demons known for their shape shifting and manipulation abilities. Ok some Backstory short as possible. The Guardian of trisfall. Origin - 1000s of years ago there was a demon Invasion, "KirinTor" (mages organisation) made a plan to channel all powers of mages to one person to fight legion. The Chosen one is "Alodi" half elf half human boy became first guardian. Agewynn's Story - A Guardian must transfer his powers to his chosen student when he's old. Or the power will die with him. At one time it's passed to first female guardian "Agewynn". KirinTor didn't agree with a women being guardian....so Agewen decided to work alone. Agewynn defeated a magical clone of the titan "Sargeras" the creater of burning legion. His plan is to possess her but she's too strong to do it, so he hide inside her. Until.. Birth of Medive - For 800 years Agewynn rules as Guardian because she use her magic to not age. KirinTor keep telling her to pass down the powers. Until one day she finally agrees to. But she will never reveils the identity of the person. Then she found the strongest mage alive, "Neiles Aran". She disguise as normal women and married him to make perfect child. When Child born named him "Medive". She then pass her powers to Medive, tell everything to her husband and leave him with the child. They goto live in Karazan. Medive's Rage - No one knew, Medive was merged with that demon spirit when he was in womb. This lead to split personality problem,...his father loved him so much and hide everything from outside world, His father keep the spirit surprised for years but he was killed by medive's Rage... ( In game, inside Karazan, we can find Ghost of his father, begging his son not to kill him). KirinTor suspect - in time Medive come out as The Guardian. when orcs made Portal to this world, it is actually Medive open the portal from this side. KirinTor suspect him and send Kadghar as a student to spy on him. Medive knew this but accept him as student. Death of Medive - after many events, Sargeras clone finally took over Medive and fought against Kadghar and Lothar. Kadghar Vs Medive battle of spells. Medive had upperhand and absorb Kadghar's life force, that's why he have grey hair. Lothar decapitate him after a huge battle. Ghost of Medive. - after Medive died, his mother try to fix her mistake by ressurecting him. She was succeeded and brought him back in spectral form. This ghost of Medive appears in lot of Warcraft 3 cinematics. He warn king Terenas, he appeared in Thralls dreams. And finally pass to afterlife after Archimond death in Warcraft 3.
While Medivh after his resurrection states he's no longer "human", I wouldn't say he's really a ghost either. For one, in the WC3 Human opening cinematic you can see two royal guards clearly touching him physically. Another important detail you forgot to mention (explicitly at least) is that when Medivh died, Sargeras' essence left his body. So when he got resurrected he was freed from Sargeras' corrupting influence and truly himself.
I would also like to add further context to this scene and Medivh's role as the last Guardian. I don't know if others have explained this on your WC3 reactions, but here goes: Medivh himself actually agreed with the fact that Azeroth should not rely on a Guardian since that is too great a responsibility to entrust to one person. As he himself (and his mother before him) unwillingly demonstrated, just one problematic Guardian can cause a huge amount of issues. That is why, after his resurrection, Medivh went about "subtly" uniting the various races of Azeroth and guiding them against the Burning Legion instead of taking care of it by himself; to show the world that it no longer needed to rely on Guardians. For that reason this apparation acts suspiciously out of character for Medivh, and when I first saw it I was briefly worried that Blizzard runied his character until I realized it wasn't actually him.
i can highly recommend you reading the arthas book. Arthas, while always arrogant and a bit of a prick, was not only a paladin and worthy king, but a very noble soul willing to sacrifice everything to protect his people. The true tragedy of Arthas is that he did EVERYTHING right....and THAT is why he fell. Not tragic, not drama, not weird events, no Arthas fell, because he did everything right, instead of listening to his heart. His need to protect his people became so strong, he was willing to kill them for it
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames the cool thing is he ended up a villain BECAUSE he did everyting right XD and did the logical thing over the thing that emotion tells you to do. Yet one can argue if he hadnt done what he did, the plague would have hit way worse and maybe, there wouldnt be living humans left at all
Illidan Stormrage is easily one of my favorite characters. Followed by Varrian Wrynn. Illidan was in love with Tyrande Whisperwind. She however, was in love with his brother Malfurion Stormrage who loved her back.
Ooh, more WoW content. And the Harbingers videos, no less. :D I feel like as great as everything has been up to this point, this is around where WoW's cinematics and story arcs just kind of take off. Legion has SO much good stuff and even though I've not played it, Battle for Azeroth has some truly great cinematics and shorts as well. These three characters are so great...I've always kind of slept on Khadgar a bit, because he's Human Mage Character and as such isn't quite as interesting to me as Gul'dan and Illidan. He's still pretty awesome, though. Gul'dan to me is one of the more compelling villains in Warcraft, just rotten to the core and at the heart of so much bad stuff lol (pretty much the "High Priest of Everything Awful" lol). Illidan is that classic "imposing yet charismatic villain who ends up being one of the most awesome characters ever once more of his story is unveiled and he ends up being on your side - mostly". There's a good reason he's such a fan favorite. I think my time spent playing WoW during the Legion expansion was some of my favorite time in the game, a lot of really cool areas to explore and stories to be told. Really looking forward to you getting to experience it, and then after that we come to my legit favorite shorts of all that Blizzard has produced: The Warbringers series (as part of Battle for Azeroth). :D
☺️ next month we really ramp up our WoW content. One part a week for 5 weeks 😎🤟🥳🥳 and yeah Khadgar definitely grabbed my attention in this one but somehow we still overshadowed by Gul’dans evil and Illidans bad asserry
blizzards usually isnt that good at handling these story redcons.. but back in the first expansion (burning crusade) illidan was deemed a traitor and an enemy. the starting zone of demon hunters actually is set in the time of the burning crusade, when the players attack illidans black temple. we're then shown that those demon hunters actually have good intentions for what they do and that it's reasonable to let them join our cause in legion.
I think it's good that the ilidari soldier doesn't have a name. Thus is for a role playing game, so when the trailer gets you that interested in the ilidari, we'll now it's your character with your name
fun fact about khadgar: he is depicted to be in his 80-90's in the battle with his corrupted master medivh he got aged through magic when we as around 17, which puts him in his early to mid 30's today while being in the body of an 85ish year old man
@@seanh1321 firstly you are correct i miss typed i meant to type mid to late 30's not early to mid 30's secondly you are partially correct, originally the curse made him very old easily 80-90 as seen on his old tbc model and in the comics too, but it is implied that he found a way to counteract or atleast reduce the effect of the curse, so my extremely shortened lore tid-bit is not wrong but if i went to every single minute detail ti would be 4 pages instead of a single paragraph and no one would read it
@@raver377 that's partially correct: from the tons of lore on Khadgar I've read, it seems that he both managed to find ways to counteract the curse Medivh put on him and the spell is running it's course, so his body is kinda rejuvenating to where it should be - so while he's in his 40's now, his body is going backwards through his 50~60's
To be fair, Gul'dan's cinematic always gives me the chills, mainly because society can be so opressive when you don't meet their standards ! Not saying Gul'dan was right to anhilate them all..especially the old shaman, however I won't lie that I both felt horror and yet satisfaction to see the Chieftain reap what he sow ! In almost all cases nothing good comes from "abusing" someone ! One can argue that Gul wasn't "good" to his core since the elements themselves rejected him..but after all he was put through and with so few chances for success I think the final refusal was absolutely cruel ! Last but not least: honestly I don't know If I wouldn't take the Legion's bargain and embrace the Fel (green death magic)if I were in his exact same situation! :( Edit: Illidan has always been awesome and charismatic ;D !
Yeah the Gul’dan cinematic does a good job of showing what can happen when you are pushed out for being viewed as different/weak/a drain. We still don’t like Gul’dan but it helps you understand him a bit better 🙂

Illidan was the main bad guy back in the burning crusade and he comes back in the legion so they had to retcon him a bit in this expanssion. While Illidan's main thing is that sacrifice is needed to fight the demons, his main problem is that sometimes he's not giving you a choice in the matter. Sacrifice everything and join his crusade and use the demon's own power against them in the fight against the burning legion. Problems arise when demonic power is a corrupting force and dying is only one of the better outcomes should you find yourself unable to harness it properly. But he sees this as a necesity in his fight against the demons and he also sees this as being the only real way to fight them and should anyone say otherwise then they are against him.
I got back a couple of hours later just a couple of more dark deception raps, thx for that kind comment, also they made almost 700 raps so it just goes to show you how many raps/songs people can make in 6 years🤯🤯🤯🤗🤗🤗
"I loved her Origin story, I also loved her exchanges with Illidan and all his responses to her which I thought, like, that is someone to follow." Bethany, that character is Kor'vas Bloodthorn, but she stands as an example. Literally the origin of a (Female) Demon Hunter player character. ;) I feel like you would both sincerely enjoy playing the Legion expansion from the Demon Hunter perspective. As a side note, as much as they wish to paint Gul'dan as a sympathetic figure in Harbingers, those of us who have had to deal with his and his inter-dimensional counterpart all these years have had all that burned right out of us. The Elements rejected his poisonous soul for a reason. Ugh I hate him so much. Khadgar's story really begins in Warcraft: The Movie from a cinematic standpoint as the apprentice of Medivh in the First War, IIRC. Khadgar is one of the most important NPCs to the Warcraft saga through even now. I love that old mage.
Thanks for the info and we definitely are interested in the Demon Hunter perspective 😁 So can you play old expansions? Not sure how the gameplay works with WoW 🤔🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames While the story automatically makes you play through the last 2 expansions, you can instead re-visit an older one if you wish to do so, if you visit an NPC named Chromie after reaching your faction's main city.
Officially welcome! 🥳🥳🍾🥂 glad you’ve been enjoying the vids and we are excited to dive into legion and the rest of the WoW expansions. December is gonna be a busy month for WoW content on the channel 😀
no no some people can not be helped - being "nice" to them is especially bad, as one can not be nice and honest at the same time (that's why those who rebel also reject the kindness, they see it for what it truly is = something to control them with). tough love is all we need in this world, yet some will still not see the right way, no matter how you act towards them. The Orcish family structure is a tough one because both your father and mother is supposed to be "providing", hunting, fighting all kinds of things out there, easy to fall prey to something and so it is easy to lose one of your parents. Only the "lucky" orcs grow up with good set of morals/good mindset. Gul'dan was especially "unlucky" in that his deformity made his life within a culture of strength, among the orcs hard to begin with, now add that he became power-hungry/evil as he was growing up and you will see how they had no other choice but to cast him out. He would have just been an orc to take care of and not get anything useful back.
Yeah, he even said so himself. The bitterness that sustained him all his life ( the contempt he held for his clan ) ate at him, until there was nothing left but that very feeling. Helping him would've accomplished nothing, he was too far gone.
Some people can’t be saved but to us it’s about helping someone BEFORE they reach the point of no return. To believe that some people can’t be helped is to believe that people are just born evil or bad. Which unless you are a psychopath or sociopath (which then it means you have something wrong with you mentally) we don’t believe that’s the case. Also, obviously tough love isn’t always the answer because the tough love that Gul’dans tribe showed to him by casting him out didn’t turn out too well for them in the end 😜
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames that is not the case with me, as I know we are all born innocent but MOST (if not all) are born into hell (meaning born into crazy families). The conditioning the parents got, which gets passed down to their children is the problem. If you are raised in a disorderly home, you will not have a chance but to become evil, like your parents. Now as you grow up of course there is a chance to overcome that evil within BUT not for everyone. Some get so used to living in darkness they will not *want* to be able to see the light in the first place. Some just don't get "chosen" for repentence, so they won't realize they were blind all along and thus living the wrong way. It's just the way the cookie crumbles
Three men. One took the power of the Fel to share his pain with the rest of the world. One took the power of the Fel to hurt those that would hurt him and his own. One rejected the power of the Fel in favor of the power of Friendship!
ah Illidan Stormrage, the original demon hunter, his story is a long one but well crafted, there are plenty of videos about illidan's lore and i highly recommend watching some of them
man i cant wait for you to do more. legion holds some amazing cinematics....and battle for azeroth has a few too That said, the story is so so much more hard hitting and amazing if you know the characters and potentially the novels written about them (yep theres quite a lot of em^^) and there is so many fantastic characters in WoW Lore that you dont see in a single cinematic =/
Oh we absolutely believe that these are more impactful the more you know and the more invested you are. But what’s cool about them is they can appeal to people like us that don’t much about the world 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames indeed ^^ if you want to see where arthas fell, there is a cutscene "culling of stratholme" - not cinematic but a good 5 minutes long, and youll understand where arthas went wrong by doing the logicly right thing and started his downfall

The next expansion BFA has an awesome cinematic like these called Daughter of the Sea that was so hype. Too bad the expansion ended up being garbo lol. It's the only time I canceled my sub... but thats when I lost use of my left shoulder so being stuck at home post surgery I came back... you always come back to WoW lol. Legion while it had a major RNG problem with the legendary items I loooooooved it. I played Legion way too much, but I was in college so that's my excuse lol.

When I started playing WoW, it was Hirde side, as a Tauren Shaman. Something just seemed so honorable of the Tauren. And Shaman class had some amazing abilities. As I played, I could not be stopped. Early in the game iteration, I was level 30, and attacked by a level 57. While they almost killed me, as a Shaman, I was able to bounce back with a self heal, then unloaded on my attacker with a Wind-fury attack, for basically, an instant kill. But, when Illidan brought the Demon Hunter class, I have never felt so... Powerful. The Illidari are Amazingly fun to play!
Hey Definitely Not Definitive. Love your videos. You should react to the old Mortal Kombat Armageddon Trailer. It's a great trailer and it was a fun game to play as a kid growing up. I believe you guys would really enjoy the trailer.
Can't believe it took me this long to realize that it was sargaras that was trying to manipulate khadgar into joining the legion. Gul'Dan was the first orc warlock, illidan was the first demon hunter and khadgar is a mage. These shorts don't tell the whole story.
Just imagine how epic these"fallen from grace" villains are. I personally prefer arthas over illidan because illidan's case involved a love triangle, while arthas' was about loss of supporters and, eventually, faith. The burning legion takes advantage of emotions and desire to plant corruption. To be fair, they are demons :p
Gul'Dan is the perfect embodiment of the proverb "A child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth."
💯
Still have PTSD from Khadgar asking me to collect 2500 shards from slain demons...just to hand them in and tell me he only needed 1....
Lmao 😂
I had to take a two month break after that. So Fucking mad
I remember the pain,
he's a mage, not a matematician, give him a break :P
I have instant PTSD from any quest that wants X number of local animal parts. x_x
(There's a long but pretty good story between the 3 characters)
Glad you're still enjoying the Wow cinematics
She loved Illidan, but she had feelings towards Malfurion as well. Basically when Illidan start practising fel magic and demonology that pushed Tyrande towards his brother. Malfurion always been the 2nd choice :D
why "their"? kor'vas bloodthorn is a female
Ah, okay. Thanks for giving us more background info on Illidan and the surrounding characters 😀🥳
I tried to convince my later wife to name our first born son Malfurion ... she said no. And won.
Yeah WoW story time! 🥳🥳 Thanks as always for the extra info on these characters and videos we watched 😀
I've been rewatching you two's reactions to all Warcraft cinematics for the fifth time now, and I never get tired of it. It already feels so amazing watching the cinematics on their own, but your reactions make it feel even more homey and nostalgic.
Aww. Happy to hear! Thanks so much for letting us know and we are glad you are enjoying our WoW journey experience 😊🥳
😎🤟😈
the other two were more tragic heroes than bonfide villains. Guldan is one 100% a villain with a tragic backstory
Like this take on it 😎😀
Blizzard has additionally released the cool audiobook about these three and the start of the Legion expansion.
It's an hour long compilation: "The Tomb of Sargeras : The Complete Audio Drama"
Could you maybe tell us your thoughts about this book, if you'd find a free hour while you're on the road trip or something.
Love your reactions, wish you all the best!
Thanks for the rec! We will try and give it a listen if/when we have time 😀😇🤗
Im already so excited for the next Part when you watch the Intro and all those Ingame Cinematics. Here is the Start from pure epicness
😁🤩🥳
Very excited for this one. You guys have reached my favorite WoW expansion. Legion.
Next up are the in game cinematics when we continue our journey ☺️
Love your reactions, I get excited when you guys do Warcraft stuff because it's like watching my journey all over again! Can't wait for the next one. :)
😀🥳🥳🥳😊
I have watched tons of Warcraft reactions over past couple years but yours are truly above the rest. I eagerly wait for each Warcraft video from your channel and happy to hear that you guys will be binging the remaining ones.
Whoa! Thanks so much for the kind words. Next month we have a bunch of Warcraft reactions planned to finish up our initial journey 😀
We haven’t gotten to the gift yet but we have lot of people waiting for us to finally see it after hyping it up to us 😀🤩
These trailers feels a lot like motivation-boosters, though in various means. :)
Starting with Khadgar, who believes in unity, cooperation and the good ol' strength-in-numbers mentality in general.
Well said! ☺️
The whole mixing up of timelines will always confuse us 😂🤪
I love watching your videos. I really enjoy watching trailers with other people and even though I can't live interact with you two, it still feels crowded and it's a lot of fun seeing your reactions too. Have a nice day.
Glad you enjoy the reactions 😀🥰🤗🥳 Maybe we will catch you on a livestream one of these days 😊
I've waited so long for this reaction😍
☺️🤗🥳
I love these ones. This series and everything around the Legion launch made me so excited to come back to the game!
😎🤟☺️
You got back to World of Warcraft. Yay! Nothing much else to say. Cheers!
🍻
glad to see that you guys watched these, your cinematic journey in WoW is nearing it's end... but if you want MORE, you only need to seek out the lore of Warcraft.
Oh yeah just because our journey will end doesn’t mean that we are done with World of Warcraft. This is only the beginning…☺️😁🥳
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames glad to hear it.
The WOW and Warcraft universe are some of the best fantasy there is...so many good memories of playing WOW with my friends and family...it is a very welcoming game and was one of the first I ever played that had a large female player base and a video game girls actually wanted to play a with me.
☺️🥰
A gate which would connect Azeroth and Draenor (world of Orc's)
Medivh created pathway for Orc's to enter Azeroth on this planet, while Gul'Dan created pathway on Draenor, both of whom, were controlled by The Burning Legion.
Thanks for explaining more about guardians and the history behind it 😀
I'm unsure if she's an actual named character but someone said it that she was Kor'vas and that's who I had in mind as well so yes, I think she is Kor'vas still she is just an NPC though not a whole lot going on, cause almost ALL of the illidari and I mean like 99% of them have the same backstory as her of losing everything they had to demons so the only way they found themselves to be able to fight back was joining Illidan, their whole story is based on the questionable decision of absorbing a demon's soul to fight other demons, cause Illidan believes the only way you can be powerful enough to defeat the legion is through their own powers, that's why pretty much 99% of the other major characters hate him (Well up until Legion Expansion he kinda gets the hero role in that.) He's overall the most loved character in whole warcraft franchise though mainly cause of his EXTREMELY UNIQUE personality, looks and motives that not a whole lot of other games and books really played around with.
Dig it. Thanks for helping explain that better to us 🙂
He isn't "the most loved" though.
0:06 I really like the beginning that they put to each of their videos.💖
🥰🤗
The Legion reaction Ive been waiting for ! Good to see you two get this far !
We covered up the last Shadowlands though the brand new stuff we haven’t seen. Shattered legacies was last one 🙂
Interesting. And of course, who doesn’t like a good love triangle 🙃 the Illiadri are cool antiheroes 😀
How/why does being a demon make someone want to follow Sargeras?
He imprisoned them originally, then when he went mad freed them basically going "Serve me or Else."
you guys need to do more of blizzards cinematics reaction, you guys rock !

The woman that Illidan lost, Tyande, is actually still alive, she just chose his twin over him. She filled a minor role in games but began ramping up starting the Legion expansion. And while there are several Demon Hunters with names and backstories, the woman unfortunately isn't any of them from what I can remember
The Woman is Kor'vas Bloodthorn, you quested with her a couple times and she is one of the leaders of the class hall.
@@OGRitchie oh dang i forgot about that. I mained a priest and shaman in legion and forgot about her, whoops. 😅😅😅

Good reaction guys! Illidan love a woman that called Tyrande, but you gonna see her in the future in the Shadowlands expansion. She is realy good character too, such as illidan with sharp personality traits and patriotism.

We enjoy reacting to it ☺️🥳🥳
Hi Ken & Bethany, I'm just here to say I love your reactions!
We appreciate that! 🥰☺️🤗🥳
Illidan is the best one, and Khadgar second,
You true, if Gul'dan was treathed kindly, maybe he will turn to something else, but in the end was Kil'Jaeden who whispered to him.
You remember in The Burning Crusader trailer, at the end when Illidan flys up and says "You are not prepared" and in this harbringer he say "You are prepared"
I hope you watch Legion cinematiics from beginning when they talks about Illidan how he became what he is now.
We plan to watch a good chunk of Legion. Think video is around 40 minutes plus 😅
Im really excited to see the video/reaction for the Legion videos, Legion in my opinion was one of the best in terms of story out of all the expansions.
The hype is real for that one 😀🤩🥳
There's a novel called "Illidan" that takes place during Burning Crusade and is a prelude to Legion.
It goes into HEAVY detail regarding the Illidari, who they are, how they're made, their training, and their relationship with Illidan as a leader. If you liked that second cinematic you would absolutely love that book; Illidan's Demon Hunters are some of the most badass mfs in the Warcraft canon.
Can't wait for you to watch the Warbringers cinematics.
😎🤟🥳
I think they are the best ones
Really enjoyed your reactions! You two are gold and thank you for doing that :) Cant wait for you to watch Warbringers series of WoW videos and all cinematics with Sylvanas!

Thank for this reaction! I thought you would not make a reaction to this video, wrote about it on your reactions about draenor!
Glad you enjoyed it! We will have legion coming up next 😁
Illidan is by far the coolest and most Bad Ass character with Arthas.
😎🤟 truth 💯
Bwomsandi bruh aswell 😂
Broxigar would like to disagree.
The girl demon hunter is called Kor'vas Bloodthorn, she has a role in the legion levelling experience, but mostly in the demon hunter class quests. Unfortunately she isn't a big character and hasn't appeared since legion.
Bummer she didn’t get an expanded role after Legion 😢
Nice to see the world of Warcraft series to come back and I really like the illidan story. Speaking of illidan someone on overwatch have a skin called illidan. Genji has that skin btw and it looks pretty cool and it’s also rare so that’s probably never coming back unless if you can get a code for it lol. Amazing reaction love y’all xoxo :)
Nice to see the crossover and the Illidan skin would be a cool thing to have 🤩
guldan is so badass, i love him as a villain
He was very effective villain 😈
the book out there called "illidan" goes into his past in alot more detail, also highly detailing how you trully become a demon hunter which is to eat the heart of a demon to absorb its soul. they constantly are at war with the demon within to keep control of themselves and use the power to fight other demons. one of his students almost fail in overcoming the demon after it convinces him he has become exactly what slaughtered his child thousands of years ago and he tries to tear the scales that grew on him off, almost bleeding out from self harm
Love all the books out there for WoW 🤩 so much to dive into
Oh man, I'd love to see you guys watch "Rejection of the Gift", it was an in-game cinematic featuring mostly Illidan. But it may require reading some context of the story first.
Believe it will be a part of our Legion cinematic part next on our journey 😅
I believe the women in the harbinger is US viewers / players
-The women you've seen in the past is "Tyrande she's Illidans brothers wife"
He loved her since childhood but she choose Malfurion , Illidans brother .
There is a class you can pick "Demon Hunter" so i think this basically answers peoples question why should i be part of "Illidari"
😎👍🤩
Guess the woman is a character called Kor’Vas Bloodthorn according to other comments 😇
Can't wait for Sylvannas, Azshara and Jaina Harbringers. Those girls are amazing
☺️🤩😁
Origin -
1000s of years ago there was a demon Invasion, "KirinTor" (mages organisation) made a plan to channel all powers of mages to one person to fight legion. The Chosen one is "Alodi" half elf half human boy became first guardian.
Agewynn's Story -
A Guardian must transfer his powers to his chosen student when he's old. Until..
Birth of Medive -
For 800 years Agewynn rules as Guardian because she use her magic to not age.
Medive's Rage -
No one knew, Medive was merged with that demon spirit when he was in womb.
Dadghar 🤣 And thanks for all this background info. There is so much we have yet to learn 😀
I don't know if others have explained this on your WC3 reactions, but here goes:
Medivh himself actually agreed with the fact that Azeroth should not rely on a Guardian since that is too great a responsibility to entrust to one person.
16:36 Khadgar: Kameee Hameee HAAA!
i can highly recommend you reading the arthas book. His need to protect his people became so strong, he was willing to kill them for it
Man. You can do everything right and still end up a villain 😢
Same!!
Khadgars backstory in the "Warcraft" movie 😄🙏
Ooh, more WoW content. And the Harbingers videos, no less. :D
I feel like as great as everything has been up to this point, this is around where WoW's cinematics and story arcs just kind of take off.
If you like those there are a warbringer series serious like those as well as an afterlife series like those
We plan to check them out as well 😁
I think it's good that the ilidari soldier doesn't have a name.
Thus is for a role playing game, so when the trailer gets you that interested in the ilidari, we'll now it's your character with your name
Some said the character was Bloodthorne? Had a first name too but we forgot it 😂
fun fact about khadgar: he is depicted to be in his 80-90's in the battle with his corrupted master medivh he got aged through magic when we as around 17, which puts him in his early to mid 30's today while being in the body of an 85ish year old man
He is actually around 45 years old currently. And his body is that of someone in their 50's - 60's, definitely not mid 80's lol
😎🤟
Edit: Illidan has always been awesome and charismatic ;D !
Yeah the Gul’dan cinematic does a good job of showing what can happen when you are pushed out for being viewed as different/weak/a drain. We still don’t like Gul’dan but it helps you understand him a bit better 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Thanks for the Reply, Like I said I don't support Gul'dan actions don't worry xD !

He feels like a complicated character that is neither wholly good or evil which makes him that much more fascinating 🤩
I got back a couple of hours later just a couple of more dark deception raps, thx for that kind comment, also they made almost 700 raps so it just goes to show you how many raps/songs people can make in 6 years🤯🤯🤯🤗🤗🤗
Holy crap 🤯
I love when you react to WoW cinematics

People are a product of their environment, we reflect all the wrongdoings from others onto another if we are unable to learn compassion.
Well said ☺️

That’s in Battle for Azeroth right? 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames that's correct. So I guess it's a long road before them ;)
Three men. One took the power of the Fel to share his pain with the rest of the world. One took the power of the Fel to hurt those that would hurt him and his own. One rejected the power of the Fel in favor of the power of Friendship!
So what your saying is, Khadgar used the Carebear Stare on that Nathrezim in the tower.

ah Illidan Stormrage, the original demon hunter, his story is a long one but well crafted, there are plenty of videos about illidan's lore and i highly recommend watching some of them
We look forward to learning more about Illidan for sure ☺️😁
man i cant wait for you to do more. legion holds some amazing cinematics....and battle for azeroth has a few too
That said, the story is so so much more hard hitting and amazing if you know the characters and potentially the novels written about them (yep theres quite a lot of em^^)
and there is so many fantastic characters in WoW Lore that you dont see in a single cinematic =/

Also are you planning on livestream reactions to all of the rockit gaming raps I said reactions not reaction because there would be way too many to do in one livestream
🤩 Illidari 😊🥳

Can't believe it took me this long to realize that it was sargaras that was trying to manipulate khadgar into joining the legion. Gul'Dan was the first orc warlock, illidan was the first demon hunter and khadgar is a mage. These shorts don't tell the whole story.
This is just setting up Legion for us 😁🥳
It was a Nathrezim, not Sargeras.
@@seanh1321 yea realized that now
Just imagine how epic these"fallen from grace" villains are. I personally prefer arthas over illidan because illidan's case involved a love triangle, while arthas' was about loss of supporters and, eventually, faith. The burning legion takes advantage of emotions and desire to plant corruption. To be fair, they are demons :p
