Great detailed review! I ordered 2 of the more expensive "extra" ones and am awaiting their arrival. I am a victim of the hype! I am a Barbie stan and I just hope they look at the price, clothes, screenings of these dolls and up their game a bit. But, expect a law suit forthcoming given Mattel's history.

So glad to come home from work and see a video from you! It definitely distressed me. Yes!! I have been seeing these dolls everywhere and people are surprised about the quality and especially the articulation ( hear that barbie). For the price these dolls are awesome. There is another one with a fur coat that comes with more accessories and a pet. I think there's 4 or 5 of these dolls out there. I'm so tempted to buy LOL. Once again you delivered another awesome video! Btw I'm getting that package ready to ship.😊

Great minds think alike! I use a touch of hand cream on doll hair as well. I also use StaticGuard spray to eliminate flyaways during styling. I think you did a great job with the hair restyle. I, too am late to the Defy Lucy dolls, but I will be getting a couple to see for myself very soon.

It's the faces too. Mattel is too scared to put make up on their dolls, making them look like kids. Defa Lucy is so stunning, i don't even mind the hair so much.

When I was a teenager. Back in 2003, I found Deffa-Lucy dolls in a store and I like them a lot. I bought a few and gave as gifts. They were super cheap. Back then they had bend and snap legs and the classic 90s Barbie body . I still have a dress from that time. Quality was not bad.

i have 3 so far one of which I re-bodied onto a made-to-move Asian tennis player AND I have a physical disability and I am GETTING the Defa in a wheelchair!!!!!! her boots are everything i will be unboxing her on UA-cam myself also I cut out all the awful netting from the clothes

These dolls are lit, I just brought the white haired girl in denim that just came out to join the other three. Lately I’ve just been so bored with Barbara so having something else to collect has been fun

I’ve bought 2 of the basic Defa Lucy ones - the blonde one with the green floral dress and the black one with the gorgeous poof of hair. I love both of them and am gonna get even more!

They have a bunch of Defa Lucy dolls on Temu,but the price is really high,I think they are more expensive than Barbie on Temu. But definitely if you can,please check out the blue hair girl.

I noticed Temus price was pretty high- and I think there is starting to be a higher than expected demand for these dolls so I’m not surprised if the prices raise! But SHEIN had a better price on them for me. I also love the denim fashion girl collection!!

I was thinking about getting the black one for her face. She’s not articulated though. I’d prefer getting an Defa Extra clone, but I mostly collect black female dolls... and occasionally Latina, Asian or curly haired dolls.
Yes!!! The one with the curtly hair and orange outfit?? I want her too! I’m gonna get her and give her a made to move body- I did see someone show her hair is not as thickly rooted, however, her curls give her great beautiful body and volume and looks full.

Never heard of these dolls probably because i avoid all drop ship sites like shein. However they are some really neat dolls. Compared to barbie extra, the quality is low but they look really cool. I love the hair and fashions.

Excellent review: the rooting is always the big question and I love the way you showed us. Great value dolls. Still the one thing fashionistas have is variation of faces and ethnicities. But to be honest, the last wave of fashionista did not interest me.

I was very disappointed by these dolls, specifically the rooting. Their faces were the only reason I wouldn’t return them. I just found out when I was rebodying mine. Try this on the articulated doll if you want: pull a small clump of hair and it will come right off!
No wonder they were priced so low! They did not put effort into rooting the hair. The hairs weren’t knotted at all, not even glued at least for minimal effort. The best way I can describe how it is rooted is like threads in a needle- insert on one side and then out the other so that when you pull a clump, the hair comes off while you see the other half burrow into the scalp on its way out. Now I have the burden of having to reroot them!
The faces really are stunning. The hair has room for opportunity. I’m sorry to hear that happened :( that is really frustrating . I’m sure they will look amazing once you’re done though!!!!

So I collect JHD fashion dolls(collector price rate dolls) and I can't help but notice the similarity in the face painting technique with defa so I was just wondering if the creator of the JHD doll brand is making a affordable price range line in a new brand name just a theory I don't have any facts BUT just imagine how smart that is tho

Awesome review! I do think the brown/ blondish one may have a nylon blend. I dod a review on my channel JUST to test the hair fiber itself. The defa lucy with thr pigtails has a nylon blend. But they do use a seran mix as well. Please check it out and it may help with the hair type ID.

I have this doll & her feet are easy to make arched because the plastic is so soft. Just 15 seconds in boiling water.

Yes! I saw that some of the non articulated dolls have heeled feet !!
@@dolls2remember some of the articulated ones too. There’s a doll of color in a reddish country style pattern mini dress and she has heeled feet and a blonde with a high ponytail and a white mini dress with prints on it. I can confirm they have the articulation body with high heel feet. And others too, I just don’t have them to confirm. I think it depends on the dolls aesthetics if they have flat or heel feet.
