- Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N is equipped with N Drift Optimizer. In the hands of N Brand Vice President JooN Park, the Pirelli P Zero PZ4 tires are shown no mercy. Watch as he obliterates the rear rubber in short order. For now, full driving impressions of the IONIQ 5 N are under embargo, but I’ll be sharing my experience at Weather Tech Laguna Seca soon. A hint? It’s a must see. Subscribe and click notifications so you don’t miss it.

Looks like a LOT of fun
I finally found a reason for those ridiculously cheap budget tires
The IONIQ 5 N wasnt happy about the weak applause, so @ 4:11 Ioniq clapped louder then anyone:
APPLAUD:
Flup..clop flop clop clop clap ….
How FAR can it drift? Right into the nearest tire store.
*window smashing noises*
Yeah, I made an "ouch!" face just hearing those poor tires desperately screaming for help.
When is the embargo up ? That will be an awesome video Tom.
They nerfed the US SPEC of options available to most other countries. No HUD (which has special N track features) and no vision Roof option. For the money, people should get the option. This would be a daily driver too for most people.
When were you at Laguna Seca? I was just near there a few weeks ago.
Pfft! I've seen this kind of drifting many times in shopping center parking lots... little old ladies trying to get a parking spot close to the mall doors 😂
100% EV torque to the rear and you can drift like a Mustang leaving your local Cars & Coffee :)
I don't know how I feel about the pumped in ICE sounds. But I've only seen clips.
I know exactly how I feel about it. Let me turn it off
It can be turned off. Or changed.
@@DrivenCarReviewsthey should offer additional sounds for fee like ringtones.
@@DrivenCarReviews Make it sound like the Jetson's car and I'm sold
I want one so bad but they start at $85,000 in my area.
Oh, is this what all the ICE drivers who complain about EV tire pollution have been doing all this time? 😂
Before I even got to the end of the video, I was thinking, "They're going to destroy the tires in one session." They didn't disappoint.
Believer.
He made slick tires 😂
What keeps the tires from actually catching on fire?
Good engineering.
Without the incredible noise, it seems pointless.
Yet again, it's pointless regardless.
Tires fear all 5,000 lbs of it.
Oi, I can smell those tires from New Jersey…
Changing the name to Nooj would’ve been more dedicated.
jooN park!!!!
wow..
Where did all my tire go?
Bono, my tires are dead.
Possessed by devil!!! 😈 ❤❤❤
Is this what CARB calls a "Zero-Emission Vehicle"?
Lowering your carbon footprint.
I never have any negative comments aboout your videos, but the length of that drifting segment was much too long.
You didn't have to watch it all.
I agree it was too long, and I didn’t watch it all.
If a tire is fear a 600-horsepower car, it cannot be used on a 1,000-horsepower car.
You already know of many 1000 horsepower cars.
He just created this argue that he tried to underreate the car.
What a creepy car reviewer.
Sadly like most modern cars software in conjunction with hardware doing the work. Zero skill. I do like the silhouette of the standard Ioniq 5, reminds me of the old Lancia Delta Integrale.
Actually most reviewers couldn’t get the 5N to drift in the drift mode like in this video. So there goes your ignorant theory. 😂
It reminds you of the Delta integrale because the Ioniq 5 is based on the Hyundai Pony from the 70s, which was based on a Bertone design that he managed to sell to Hyundai, Lancia and Volkswagen simultaneously, which resulted in the Pony, Delta, Scirocco, Golden respectively. Beltane or course doesn't like that story being told
@@JohnLee-db9ztall that says it's that modern car reviewers have less than😅 zero skill
@@cvillalobos27 Yes I am aware that Giorgetto Guigarro designed for Bertone at the time and was responsible for some very iconic designs.
67k is alot
Is it? For what it delivers? Check in on Tuesday.
Before markups so more like $80K
@@DrivenCarReviews there is much better performance per dollar out there. However, if EV is the buyer’s requirement then this price seems in line with the current competition. I fear depreciation will not be kind.
Yeah Tom, 67k is a lot. This is a play toy for the working wealthy.
@@bassandtrebleclefThink god I’m a working wealthy. 😂
Drifting is not my thing... Skins painful to me like the car is moaning
I'm sorry Tom, but who needs it?🤣
There are a WHOLE lot of cars & trucks that you could ask that question about.
Who needs a Corvette?
Who needs a Miata?
Who needs a Wrangler?
Who needs a 911?
Who needs a Bronco?
Who needs a Ferrari?
Who needs a Lamborghini?
Who needs a ... the list goes on and on.
The question is:
Who WANTS this? Me, I want this.
And then needs to recharge for 40 minutes to do it again. 😂😂😂
Not really. The Ioniq cars are really fast with 18min for 10-80%... But I guess you're not here for facts.
18 minutes. While you're getting a Coke.
@@MichaelPanzeryou’re in luck the 2023 Model is the most heavily discounted vehicle from MSRP so far this year.
@@DrivenCarReviewsI don’t think I’d wander too far from any of the charging stations I’ve seen. I’d sit and stay strapped.
20 minutes
Great. I’m sure GenZ can’t wait. 🫤
