Hi, thank you for your question. I started thinking about uploading and looking at different websites in 2020 while I had to be at home during pandemic. So, financial year april 2020-2021: $50 financial year april 2021-2022: $550 financial year april 2022-2023: $1500 financial year april 2023-2024: $1900 So now it's about $160 per month. I recently made my yearly earnings video for this financial year, but since this video I made Shutterstock+Adobe sales, so the above figures are more or less what I got. It increases the more you upload. As long as you upload each year. The most difficult thing is first year: you start uploading, nothing sells yet, you realise that's it's actually a lot of work and takes time...but nothing sells yet. So my advice would be to be patient in the first year, keep uploading. Sales will begin later, maybe even next year.
I always put the maximum allowed number of keywords. Usually I use the in-built shutterstock tool (where you fill in title and keywords - click on "Find more keywords" on bottom right). Sometimes I also check use mykeyworder.com. Also you can upload your images and videos to pond5 and find similar selling things - you can inspirations from there. Hope it answers your question a bit.
I use Microstock.Plus. But some websites, such as Pond5 and Envato, don't work on it. The web version of Microstock.Plus is free for 33 items per month. I do keyworking and upload to vecteezy+depositphotos+shutterstock+pixta+dreamstime all at once from microstock. Then I go and copy those keywords and upload manually to the rest. It still saves me time.
Hi! I am new to shutterstock but I am expat and travel a lot. I have so many photos I think would be ‘sellable’ but how do you do it? $44 for one photo of red rocks in Colorado?! Is the secret in the keywords? How do you do it? Thanks!
hi, have you actually tried keywording and selling? I experimented a lot, I always put the maximum allowable number of keywords - 50 for shutterstock. Submit as many photos as you can. Stay positive. The fact that you are asking me how I do it shows that you don't believe that you can do it. With me, I have the default idea in my head that it's working for me, I'm just going to sell some of it, it's just a fact that some of my things are going to sell, that's it :) Are you from Colorado? Wow, amazing, I love that part of the word, especially amazing sunny+snowy winters.
@@soulsparkstudio1 yes, you can upload same files. I sell same files on Adobe, Shutterstock, Depositphotos, Vecteezy, Getty... I don't sell on freepik, so I don't know their policy. BUT if you signed up to sell EXCLUSIVELY on any website, then you must submit unique files for that particular website. By default, websites I mentioned above let you sell same files as you sell in other places.

@@Iqram-s7c hey, don't worry, I made spelling mistakes before. You can easily change. Go to your Shutterstock dashboard - portfolio - catalogue manager - click on the file-change keywords/title-save.
Oh my god, 8 photos is not enough! I have 900 photos, and I occasionally get 10p sales;) My suggestion is upload much much more, and don't forget to upload videos too, because they earn you more.
I think single purchase is when a customer comes to Shutterstock and buys one product for its original price, for example a video for $50, and doesn't have to buy more. It's higher than subscription because with subscription people pay monthly a certain amount and thus buy again and again discounted items per month, for example pay only $10 for each video.
I belong to Pakistan, I have seen your video. I like your video very much. I have a question for you that I have just created an account on Shutterstock and I have uploaded five images. But all the five images have gone to the listing but not one has been approved . Can you please guide me about this.
If I understand your question correctly, the 3D render can be sold as a 3D image, yes. Make sure you write "3D rendering" in title and description in Shutterstock and set it as illustration, not photo. Did you render it yourself?
Hi am from india ... New to Shutterstock, my uploaded photos showing eligible for data licensing , what this means..? .... Thank you 😊.. ur video is good 👍
I think it means that your photos have not been approved for main commercial sales, but instead they will be sold to companies who will use them to train computers and ai technology. It happened to some of my photos too, don't worry, you will still earn money when they are sold, it's just for different purposes.
Hello ma'am , I am planning to upload some simple motion graphics video on shutterstock..will i be able to earn some good amount of money with motion graphics footages?
Thank you, my friend :)) I use Cinema 4D (with Octane render and sometimes Realflow plugin). And I use After Effects. Nothing else;) Sometimes I use Photoshop cleanup Topaz plugin (I had to pay for it) - basically Photoshop is great for taking your PNG sequence and batch processing it. Those are the only 3 software programs that I use. I wish you all the best!
You mean you want to create videos and sell them? I create them in Cinema 4D and After Effects, so you may download a free AE trial and watch UA-cam tutorials. Good luck!
I don't think Shutterstock allows ai generated content. I never post ai images, so I'm not sure if they changed their regulation or not, but a few months ago some of my images were rejected because Shutterstock thought they were ai. So it made me realise AI images were not allowed on Shutterstock. If you post ai images - Shutterstock will check all your images and will find out.
For editorial use definitely not. I uploaded it for commercial use, but Shutterstock didn't even ask for release. There is no logo there, no recognisable branding, etc. But I wanted to keep myself safe I asked for permission from the theatre if I can sell it. The Denver amphitheatre told me I'm allowed to sell it when it's empty like this. But if there was a music band playing in it with band's and concert name etc, then I would have to obtain a formal release. Then Shutterstock would probably ask me for release too.
I sell 3D and motion graphics that I make in Cinema4D and After Effects. I could also sell footage - take my camera, film what I choose(nature, animals) and sell it - but I don't do it simply because I don't like to carry a camera around with me. Hope it helps!
Im new to this, can you share estimated amount of how much do you get from this side hustle every month? And form when did you started?
