Produced by Jason Suecof at Audio Hammer Studios.
"The Forever Rot," stands in stark contrast to "The Agony Seeping Storm", delving into a lonesome and haunting guitar melody, then evolving into shimmering reflections of Obituary, Coroner, Voivod, and even hints of Neurosis. In other words, forget about your preconceived perceptions of what this band was. This twists vocal tropes, chord forms, and melodies into loops of razor wire.
Jonny Davy furthers elaborates, “On MoonHealer, we explore a concept centered around a close friend who embarked on a relentless quest for profound enlightenment through the incessant abuse of hallucinogenic drugs, leading to a severe disconnection from reality due to the toll it took on their mental health. The song 'The Forever Rot' touches on their beliefs that human evolution and development have somehow led to the restriction of perceiving otherworldly or inter-dimensional realities and religious entities. It delves into their disconnection from the physical world and the notion that true vitality may be found in the ability to self-destruct and recreate. That some of the drugs they consumed opened these realities that evolution has closed the door on.”
    JOB FOR A COWBOY:
    Jonny Davy - vocals
    Al Glassman - guitar
    Nick Schendzielos - bass
    Tony Sannicandro - guitar
Drums performed by Navene Koperweis @nkoperweis
    The Forever Rot lyrics:
The Hominid trajectory was the catalyst to forbid this inter-dimensional imagery
For the substance of our existence seeps of earthborn putridity
This mystic entheogen, skinning my essence from a planet of regurgitated monsters
It ripped the threads of a dying macrocosm where all creations are charades and imposters
I no longer sense a ghost inside my carbon-based vessel, the grief is horrendous
But I rest in comfort of knowing my soul is eternal and my consciousness endless
As my fleshed flame was quenched with gloom
The eternal darkness took my soul to consume
I can overhear my shadow's dimming cry,
It wept and said, "Only that of which can destroy itself is truly alive"
I no longer sense a ghost inside my carbon-based vessel, the grief is horrendous
But I rest in comfort of knowing my soul is eternal and my consciousness endless
As my fleshed flame was quenched with gloom
The eternal darkness took my soul to consume
I can overhear my shadow's dimming cry,
It wept and said, "Only that of which can destroy itself is truly alive"
No longer was I to be revived
My body had been purged, bathed by the sound of flies

I remember like it was yesterday: 2007-08, I was 15 when I was first introduced to Job For A Cowboy, and I was an instant fan. Not long afterward, I saw them live in 2009 when the Mayhem Festival came to Dallas and they were killer live!
Fast-forward to this year: I'm in my early thirties, and they still sound fresh with their pummeling death metal!
Hail and motherfucking Cheers to ya'll, Job For A Cowboy!

Same!! I was 18 when I got introduced to them in early 2006 with their Doom EP and loved how brutally raw it sounded. They were my favorite band after genesis and every album that followed took it to a whole new level. Sun eater was honestly ahead of its time and moon healer will probably be one of the best metal album releases of 2024 by far. 🤘🤘

This new wave of death metal like shadow of intent, brand of sacrifice, enterprise earth, are killing it but I’m beyond excited to see what jfac has in store for us.

Really psyched to hear about the new album. Started getting into Death Core/ Death metal more, when I discovered Behemoth and The Black Dahlia Murder. Jon “The Charn” Rice drum cam popped up on my UA-cam page few months back, playing “Unfurling A Darkened Gospel”. Listened to Ruination and was hooked. Then heard “Sun Of Nihility” off the last LP “Sun Eater” and was blown away by their proggressive technicality. Jonny Davy is a beast of a vocalist and their bassist is pretty sick too.

Still going, eh? Saw them twice in Montreal. First time with Behemoth in 2008, Radio Rebellion tour and again in 2009 when I greeted Jon. Doom was definitely the shit, with Entities being their magnum opus track. I still have my "Hell Stands Still With An Empty Throne" tee but don't recall what happened to my Bakula hoodie. Goooood times, but got into Slam and then old skool Death Metal which led to my cozy spot here in the D-beat/Crust zone. Big cheers to the band and Navene, since Animosity were literally the best band in the scene at the time with The Black Page video absolutely stomping.
