I love this guy. Fabulous technician and uniquely valid interpreter. I love his stuff. Smaller hands, no problem. That 2nd one was out of this world. "Eloquent" is a great descriptor.
0:00 Prelude I
1:43 Prelude II
5:37 Prelude III
Bravissimo!
One Of The Very Best Performances Of Prelude 2 That I Have Ever Heard...I Was First Inspired By This Piece When I Heard It Performed In A Concert By Someone At The Royal Conservatory Of Music In Toronto...This Was In The 1990's And I Have Never Forgotten It...I Attempted To Play It Myself...Hearing This Performance Of All 3 Preludes Has Inspired me To Tackle This Once Again..And I Must Say That I Am So Impressed With Eduardo's Performance Of All 3 Preludes...I Was Admittedly More Appreciative Of Prelude 2 Until I Heard Eduardo Perform These 3 Preludes With Such Eloquence.
How I wished I had practiced and believed in myself. Eduardo, you are magnificent! Thanks
Hermosa version de los preludios de Gershwin - felicitaciones Eduardo Rojas!
My personal favorite performance of these pieces so far! Gershwin would be proud.
Brucerows....no está mal pero tengo las grabaciones de Gerswin originales, las cuales deben ser escuchadas para saber de la verdadera forma de interpretacion...........
FINALLY....a professional with small hands who can do justice to this piece by seamlessly rolling those stretched 10ths. Bravo!!!
Ditto. I struggle with similarly shaped hands.
Yes! I had despaired of playing this wonderful piece until I saw the way he does it. I can play some tenths, but definitely not C#-E.
What visual are you basing at off of? It's impossible to tell through this video.
@@reev9759 Your statement is mildly humorous. Go back and watch the second prelude several hundred more times. The left hand is supposed to be played with 10ths, not rolled 10ths. Rolling is a compensatory movement.
@@ayokay123 why humorous? You gave a pretty valid explanation. You provided the clarity I was asking for, and I'm better off because of it. Why was that funny to you?
I really enjoy this man's playing. He really understands Debussy and gets the idiom perfectly. He is not restrained by an adherence to some idea of impressionism, nor does he allow the virtuosic passages to tempt him to show off a kind of virtuosity, which he has but is more appropriate for Liszt. He is always phrasing, and phrasing musically, expressively, and in a manner so right for Debussy's very particular style..beautiful interpretation...
Debussy? This is Gershwin
Marvelous ! Gershwin composed very unique preludes.
"I really enjoyed Eduardo 's music and the pictures chosen to illustrate!"

Love what he did with Prelude 2...It's a personal favourite of mine and I felt very involved with this particular piece~and also enjoyed the entire performance.
Agreed. Easiest to play of the 3 but I think the best.
Lo he disfrutado mucho desde aqui, en Bogotá
Fantastic performance! Bravo!

I am doing a music history project over George Gershwin and I love this rendition of his three preludes. I couldn't figure out how to message someone about this so I am putting it in the comments lol. Is there any way I can use this video for my presentation?

I liked the first and the third ones..what is their exact names?
Puzzling, uneven tempo changes in 1 and 3, Not feelin' it.
Since I'm only interested in the first prelude, here is my opinion: I liked the performance, but the forced speed just makes the stumbles you had unnecessary. I like the idea of using the pedal during the whole piece but then again it all seems like a forced style you thought of to sound over the top.
Agree very much. Some stumbles are quite fine, but the wrong notes in the parallel scales at the very end really killed it for me.
