After the 2011 Finals, I kept using the Mavs in 2K until my friends complained. One of them called Dirk "The Anomaly", because he was basically a cheat code with how much I abused his jumper, especially the fadeaway. Wasn't afraid of no team (including special teams) as long as I was using the Mavs. Didn't hurt that they got a lot of shooters too.
At least Dirk's a great player in real life. In my experimenting with teams, my friends found out the hard way about Andrea Bargnani. He doesn't fucking miss. He was pretty skilled (or at least was rated so) for a big guy, so I kept abusing it and his height even made him a good rebounder. He was like my Dirk-lite.
There were other anomalies, but they were the two I remember the most.

I'm a month late in commenting, but Zydrunas Ilgauskas is amazing in 2k19 and 2k20. This dude is a 7ft3 beast inside who has a post scorer takeover which allows him to push defenders like ragdolls out the way, has a good three point shot and is a great post defender. The 06-07 Cavs are secretly one of the most OP teams in PNO(even though nobody plays it anymore). You basically have LeBron surronded by shooters(Gibson, Hughes, Big Z, Gooden, Marshall, Jones), Shaq in the form of Big Z as your second option and Larry Hughes who can create his own shot as well as the third.
I remember dropping 40 out of 60 points with giannis and coming downcourt and hitting a game winner

In 2k14 I had 3 go-to teams: The Blazers with Dame and LaMarcus, the Pistons with Brandon Jennings and J-Smoove, then the Bucks with the two most OP players in the game: Nate Wolters and Larry Sanders. Nate Wolters had an easier 3 point shot than Ray Allen, and Larry Sanders was the only player in the game I can consistently get 25+ rebound games without even focusing on boxing out. The Bucks had the lowest ranking in the game but with those 2 guys you could go up against teams like the Pacers or even Lob City
Paul pierce was an absolute glitch for me on 2k14 when he was on the wizards 😂😂😭
