1970;1943 Penny's various Penny's during certain years aso were made partially od steel they will stick to magnet etc

1943? The war penny. USA had a copper shortage and, needed it for wwII. The mints were told to stop the copper cent production. About 25 made it into circulation. And the steele penny was introduced. There are a few steelies worth a lot of money. Ie. 1943 with a 2 stamped under the 3. The 1944 steelie should have not made it into circulation but, a few did. If you have a 44 steelie it's worth big bucks too!

The penny that a magnet will stick is a 1943 steel , during the war a copper shortage, then they minted pennies out of steel.
These videos give a small amount of information.
There more information than you can imagine.
I recommend going to book stores or a public library. To get started, and to see if you are a serious coin collector .

you say to take a magnet and you can tell the difference. you can not use a magnet because a magnet will not stick to copper either. it will not even stick to the newer zinc, pennies so pleae inform people that they cannot use a a magnet to tell the difference.. thanks.
