You are so brave for getting up there! I am also classically trained and half the battle was getting over all my fears and hangups that I wasn't "meant" to belt. You are amazing. Keep belting!!

Using head a mix voice a lot actually strengthens the tiny little muscles that we use for belting, we just use them in a slightly different way with a different type/amount of effort. Also retracting false vocal cords for opera is great training for belting in a healthy way, a lot of people think belting is screaming. You’ll probably never have that issue because you’re already trained to retract the false cords.

WOAH wait I’ve actually had this theory in my mind for a while !! And I’ve never seen anyone talk about it but it makes a lot of sense!!! it’s very nice seeing this validation lol

Brava!! As an opera singer.. Try to belt can be very scary 😅
(since I know unhealthy belting can hurt vocal folds very easily) but applause to u lady!! 👍
And I love how Natalie Weiss teaches and her technique..
I kinda see the way the sound travels when she teaches.. I love that! 😍
No matter what the genres are.. good technique works like magic!
