The only people using The Hobbit as detraction against Peter Jackson have never read The Hobbit. You can argue that it should not have been made into a movie, but given the source material he did a very good job elevating the material. It's a children's book on the level of a Dr. Seuss book imo. You were never going to get anything better than what we got out of that book.

We personally do not agree with the criticisms against the Hobbit; we absolutely love those movies, Peter Jackson did a tremendous job given the circumstances.

I'm excited about this news. It's great that the same writing & producing team is behind this. Having Andy on board to direct, as well as star, is the icing on top of the cake. He was a unit director on the Hobbit trilogy, as well as the director of Mowgli and Venom 2, so he knows what he's doing behind the camera. And, of course, he's the master of mo-cap performances, and I'm looking forward to where he takes this.
