Hi there Would it be possible to purchase a cast signed poster from the show? I Absolutely love the show it is amazing. Many thanks :)
The ships of the Sojourn scratch every design itch I have. The radiators and fuel tanks, centrifuges, big glowy engines. Can't get enough!
I second that...
I'm so scratched too.
I just realized, the thumbnail for the swivel guns and cannonade video was a snippet of this ship. We got a hidden teaser for it over a month ago.
Step aside, Tripathia and Confiance.
We got ourselves a new beautiful ship now!
Until we finally get to see a First-Rate
@@weldonwin that probably is a first-rate, it looks like it has quarrel lock coilguns which are stated to be exclusively on stations and first and second-rate ships of the line.
@@engineer84-w8xit says in the description that it’s a second rate ship
@@engineer84-w8x Description says second rate?
@@engineer84-w8xthe description stated she is the lead ship of the Temperantia class second rate ship of the line
She's beautiful. Although, if she is only a Second Rate, I'm curious as to how much bigger a First Rate ship of the line will be
If they stay in line with the real life ship-of-the-line sizing approach the first rate ships were not all that much bigger than second rate, but had greater bulk, more heavy guns, and thicker armour. Second rate ships were essentially first rate hulls made on the cheap. That’s partly why the terms “second and third rate” have come to have negative meanings.
Oh…my…gods… *I love her.*
if this is 2nd rate ship of the line , what is 1st rate ship of the line?
A mobile ground fortress with engines slap together?
Makes me wonder what the Tetrarch First-Rate SOTL is gonna look like when we finally see it 🤤🤤🤤 If this is what a Second Rate looks like, just imagine.....
Looks like the CDF is familiar with the saying "Speak softly and carry a big stick". That's a big ole stick. And it's not even the biggest.
I need a breakdown yesterday
Seconded
Thirded?@@micahmyers6768
That would be awesome
Yes please.
Concur
Never thought I would see the ISO Standard Human Warship look beautiful, she is a beautiful ship
To think this is only a second rate, how gargantuan must a first rate be?
Dang, that ship is a beauty! And a lot large for what I thought was a second-rate ship of the line. Honestly, I thought it was a first-rate.
The perfect balance of technical realism and sci-fi
Now that is a ship. Can't wait for a breakdown.
It's like the Sojourn's version of the Donnager from the Expanse.
@@JoaoSoares-rs6ec Still, it is a beautiful ship. Just need a few more missile launchers and the Donnager is trashed.
@@JoaoSoares-rs6ec Just don't know the size of the Temperantia. Looks big.
@@WolfeSaber9933she has 16 torp launchers, 8 times than that of a Confiance and it isnt enough? Any more and it will turn into an arsenal ship than a second rate
@@henrycooper3431 A Donnager has 14.
We finally got a size for this mighty ship!
Ive been so exited to seesome larger centrum warships, and you did not disappoint. This shio looks incredible, i think it just jumped past the Donnager for me. The mix of the curved centrafuge with the angular hull contrasts so well.
Absolutely love the ship design of the Sojourn! Some of the best I've seen in a while! Keep up the good work!
Look forward to the full breakdown
A beautiful and unique design. I really like the mix of the very bulky and rectangular look mixed with a few notable rounded areas from the gravity mechanisms.
That is one big boy right there. I love big and slow ships
Radiators! Always love to see them on spaceships.
Every ship that comes out of this project is a work of beauty!
Can’t wait for the breakdown of this Behemoth!
If this is a second-rate ship of the line, I’m eager to see what the first-rates look like 👀
Absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to see a 1st rate ship of the line!
Now this is what I would call reverse thrusters!
I'm in awe with the size of this lass
As you've now shown the CSV Temperantia, could you please show the Frontier dreadnought? The Arashi-Sakara?
Ship breakdown soon please
To quote Rosa Diaz, She Is Magnificent
She’s gorgeous…
This gotta be Quarrel-lock worthy.
Outstanding as ever, love the aesthetic this series brings to sci fi
Now thats a starship
If this is a second Rate Ship of the line, I can't wait to see what a First Rate would Look like
Can't wait for a lore video on this one
B-E-A-U-TIFUL❤
God I love the ship designs of this series so much. It's in that delicious semi-hard sci-fi sweet spot for me.
Other Sci-fi warships: Clean, sleek, and elegant
Sojourn: *Brick*
That being said, I’ve swiftly fallen in love with the designs of the ships from the Sojourn.
However, if that’s a Second Rate Ship of the Line, what the hell does a First Rate Ship of the Line look like? Or are there none of those around since there really isn’t any need for them?
They have a one off first rate ship of the line that they used to win the Frontier War
You can't have rates without having First Rates, since by definition they're just your most heavily armed ships of the line, complete with exactly how many guns are required to qualify changing over time.
But what a beautiful brick.
Seriously bro, you need to make an animation series with this amazing superb quality. She looks gorgeous!
Dame If this is a second rate I'd love to see a first rate. What is the Sojourns Equivilant to the Donnager?
Technically, this is the Donnager equivalent. It’d certainly wipe the floor with it anyway.
my goodness! this is so beautiful!!! it even has radiators!!
Can we have a ship breakdown for the Temperantia please
Burn and flip. Flip and burn. The Expanse style.
I would love to see a detailed breakdown of this ship
Steady as she goes!
Now we got a second rate, I wish to see the first rate.
That “Mighty” sounds a bit concerning as it reminds me of the “Mighty Hood” which we knew what happened.
Holy HELL this is amazing
So im curious what they do with the centrifuge on this ship when under thrust, because going the expanse’s Tycho station, the habs rotate in the direction of thrust, so crew can still walk around, but if this ship did it you wouldnt be able to move hab to hab, at least with great difficulty, could someone explain how they would actually do it
To be clear i think this is a beautiful design, but i am curious
Their ships are built in a way that use the constant thrust as gravity so they dont need the spinning habs during that period (with the exception of the Huntress which forego all of that thanks to the drift gravity plating)
It's possible that the centrifuge is just a berthing area, not actually used during action.
It’s been said by one of the team over in the Discord that there’s something wacky going on with the centrifuge, but Achilles is also right. The centrifuges are meant to be used when the ship is stationary, never in combat or while under thrust.
Interesting how chunky this is compared to the Tripathia
The gun brick philosophy really kicked in during the Frontier War.
Shivers
Am I looking at this right? It has 8 main guns and 32 smaller coilguns? That is absolutely ludicrous. I adore it.
I did a count, elsewhere, with some speculation based on design tropes on other CDF ships.
8 main guns (which we don’t know the size of)
16 twin 15-inch coilguns
12 twin 10-inch sponson-mounts
2 twin 10-inch bowchasers
2 twin 10-inch sternchasers
And *16* (this was confirmed by the designer) torpedo launchers.
She really is a ship built for war.
@@youtubeplebmay i ask where did you see the 12 10 inches? I could only see 8 quarrel locks, 16 broadhead locks, 16 torpedoes racks and 12 swivel guns
@@henrycooper3431 They’re the sponson batteries, those insets on the hull. Look at the first clip, you’ll see one retracting.
@@youtubepleboh, thanks for pointing that out. This really does seem like an all around ship meant for war with that loadout
An RPG game set in this universe... PLEASE???!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤
I suspect a substantial disruption of The Harmony in Season Two. Consequences, unknown.
✌
hold on…. If that is a second rate ship of the line…
HOW BIG A FIRST RATE?
Awesome looking design, even if putting full scale engines on the front makes little practical sense apart from redundancy. Great job
i love the ships of the sojourn because the keep to realistic proportions and we are actually able to feasibly build them in the future.
Can't wait for the break down video for this ship
Great looking ship. Love the forward and aft engies being part of the look.
I wish I had money to give you guys so you can make an animated show or something, I can’t wait to see where this IP goes!
If that's a second-rate what the hell does a first-rate look like😮
gives me same chills as Battletech intro
jesus christ...if thats a second rate then whats a first rate?
I very much want to see a First Rate now.
Oh, she's beautiful!
New ship. New ship good.
I want a full on TV series with these ships.
Expanse vibes, I dig it
So, when are we getting a tv show :)?
I missed why Soujourn's ships are designed to avoid flip-and-burn for deceleration
They’re not, strictly speaking. The bow drives are for combat manoeuvring.
Ooooooo!!!!!
I'd play with the drive plume collors a bit, but that's because I'd find that fun. It's exellent.
RGB Gaming Engines
0:36 It may not seems like it, but the Temperantia is actually moving. Just drag the red bar of the video back and forth.
It really gives a sense of scale and weight. She’s got four rear engines and even those barely move her.
Gorgeous!
❤
Beautiful Ship, but I do have a question about the ladders visible at 0:21.
I assume that a 2nd rate would not be working in planetary gravity very often/at all, so what is the point of ladders with rungs? If you were under thrust gravity, the rungs are parallel to the force, and thus can't be used effectively, and if you were just drifting, they would be mostly useless. I would think that simple rails would be more useful, because you could attach a tether with some sort of ring/carabiner, and then be able to freely slide the ring along the rail while still keeping yourself and/or your tools secure.
You still need a surface to grab onto to propel yourself, though.
The rungs are probably more effective as visual cue to personnel than just a rail would be.
How long is this ship?
My rough estimate is about 2-5 Tripathia, i may very well be wrong tho
Does anyone have a guess as to what the things that retracted into the hull at the beginning were?
Most likely the Sponson mount Coilguns. These are the non turreted guns that are fixed for a single direction, but have longer barrels and so can fire faster projectiles. It’s nice to see a mix of weapon types on any ship since there are advantages to both types, turrets have a wider range of motion while cannons have longer overall range.
@@bendonoghue3433That makes sense. Thanks.
This is a useless combat ship design. Fusions torches on one end only. Torches on both ends is a waste of mass and combat potential. Put lots of armor on the nose and keep it pointed at the enemy, and minimize broadside exposure. You can't armor engines like this.
The bow engines are there for combat manoeuvres and the ship is designed for broadside combat. It’s perfectly functional.
if that's a second-rate, I am terrified to see what a first-rate could be
so you got two sets of floors and cielings? cause you have two sets of thrust gravity...why do you have two ships glued together with a weak middle?
The forward engines are for combat manoeuvres, the decks are all arranged one way.
