Quennel went from Oscar Petersen , Art Tatum, McCoy Tyner, Gershwin , Chic Corea and towards the end of the set they got off into Robert Glasper esque type groove.. This is the definition of MUSIC.
I'm actually offended that there wasn't a film/tech/ crew there to capture this! i would purchase the blu-ray! i'd actually listen to this over a huge % of gospel tracks studio released..
We are so blessed in this generation to hear such beauty in music, we only thank God for Quennel. When we say that God is awesome we can see it in the play of QG. He inspires me to respect and love God more and more for He is the source of everything. Glory to Him alone!

Mr. Gaskin, what would be a tip for a young musician for me to play more with a vocalist rather than to play for my self and how to practice to play with more character like you do.
Nice but it is is a such thing as too much the but can really sing but when you over a song you take away from the spirit of the song to me just saying . I'm a fan of Ashley voice ..we know the have technical skills and Jazz influence but runs on everything is too much. Just taper it down a little bit . For us old school gospel singers . Lol like my self I do runs but not every other line in a song.
I agree with the concept but not for this impromptu meeting. Its important sometimes to just let it flow how it comes. This wasn't a concert . This was a mutual admiration meeting! Lol 😆 I hope to hear more from this young lady going forward.
