I have trouble falling asleep because my mind starts going everywhere when I try to sleep... I have to use music to calm my thoughts usually
StrTrm same, I don't know why we punish ourselves like this....it's like, I have all day to think about things and do something about them, but it's always when I lay down to sleep that all the stuff that bothers me comes to mind. So frustrating...

It's currently 2:21 am right now and I'm thinking of the past. I miss the old, simple life of my childhood. The strong bondd that we used to have as siblings is now gone. Financial problems made us all grow up at such a young age and face reality. It's kinda sad now thinking about how much stuff has changed over a couple of years. The years 2017-2019 have repeatedly beaten me down till I feel like I can no longer stand up. I guess that family is only fun when you're younger and the bonds are still fresh. As you grow older, you'll see your parents separate ways, your siblings get influenced badly by their peers because of the lack of guidance from parents, and then you'll also see that your family is falling apart. Everyone is stressed out about the bills, and one by one each family member will devise their own plans to escape this reality. I guess here I am now, still living for the past while I see my siblings try to move forward. Besides, how can you even look straight ahead into the future when the present is too painful to absorb, and the past being too joyful to forget.
P.s. I apologize for any grammatical mistakes. English is my second language now :) these are just my 2 am thoughts. It only comes out during these times so please dont judge ^^ I'mm not as pessimistic during daytime.
If you keep living in the past your life will continue to stay the way it is, however, if you use the past memories of joy to your advantage you can use it as motivation to have a good future ahead so that you can improve your life. Simply put it, "The past memories should act as a lantern through the dark cave that is present so that you may find a sunny horizon in the future and leave the darkness behind you."

My older sister passed away 3 years ago and she is all I think about when I can’t sleep at night... I often find myself reminiscing the past.. and holding onto memories that are so vivid, it’s like I’m there again with her, but just out of reach... I wish I could dive deep into memories and just get to hug her one last time.
Man I can't even begin to compare that feeling with anything I know. But I think that as much as you cherish those memories with her, you should strive to get new ones which you can also cherish, we are our memories after all. Much love from a random person on the internet
I am an older sister and this pains me more than anything because my younger brothers mean the world to me. I think your sister would be so touched that you love her and that you think about her from time to time. She would also have known you loved her even if you might feel like you didn't hug her as much as you wanted. We sisters know that guys are different about affection so no matter how much you showed or how much you expressed she probably knew you loved her.Grief is strange in the way it never seems to fully go away, but one day hopefully you will be able to smile when you think of those memories, and you will be able to feel her presence in different points of your life. I believe we carry parts of the people we love with us, so your memories of your sister are expressions of her life you get to carry to the world. What did she do that you can reflect in your life too? I hope your sister is in a better place now. Thanks for sharing, you're not alone.

It's actually crazy that it took me so long time to put this one out. One of my favorite mixes on this channel is 'still breathing'. I always wanted to make a follow up to it and it just never came to be... untill now that is. I don't remember waking up sad as a kid. I vividly remember when I felt like everything changed. I was 12. My older brothers and I stayed up late and we had this conversation that changed how I viewed my life and life in general. I had questions I couldn't ignore. I'm 22 now and I'm trying to accept that these questions might not even have answers. You know, you can't simply "unrealise" some things.

When I was little I used to lie in bed until ridiculous hours of the morning staring out my window and dreaming that the trees were alive and coming to take me away to a new family. My home life has never been bad, but it was very clear from an early age that my parents were using me as a pawn to hurt each other (divorced) and I ended up thinking that the divorce was my fault and then by extension that everyhting that went wrong in the family was my fault, so if I wasn't there anymore then nothing bad would happen. My favourite nights were rainy summer nights, and I would fall asleep curled up with my face pressed against the window, then wake up with condensation on my face. As depressing as my reasoning for those nightime musings, I remember them now as a time of peace, and this music brings a similar feeling of peace. Thank you.

We've grown so much in these last few years. To think that a while ago, some of us were still kids.
Kids who laughed at immature jokes, who could never stop thinking about that one person, or town, or sound. Kids who skydived into middle school, then high school, then college without any clue what their futures would hold. There is still a part of me who is still in love with that one boy, in that one town and that pitter-patter of the rain. Maybe one day, all my one-sided pure-hearted feelings will be planted into the soil. So that maybe, just maybe, I can grow the flowers he never gave me, and feel the rain on my face as it hides my tears.

I find it odd the lofi community has the most supportive people yet they are probably the most broken and depressed people, especially sad lofi, you hear all these stories of people you've never met before yet you can relate because were all just depressed, in anime lofi its a bunch of quotes that hit like a truck and can be hella encouraging at the same time, then you have 1-3 am lofi where everyone just says whats on their minds, they're all so tired but aren't tired enough to go to sleep because they feel so drained to sleep. It's like a chore they don't want to do. So to whoever is reading this please just know that if you ever need someone to talk to come back here and tell me whats on your mind. I have been through more than you could imagine in the past couple years and I will do everything in my power to make sure you are not alone in tough times.

Am I the only one that thinks this type of music puts you in a state of mind that takes you somewhere physically and emotionally? I can put this on at anytime and feel sad, reminiscent, or upset about something I have never personally gone through and I can think for hours on end about things I don’t normally want to think of but because this is playing, it makes the thoughts a lot easier to confront and a lot harder to avoid. Idk what I’m trying to convey I just love this

Currently 8:44PM, I just need this music to help me from being stressed whilst doing homework. Balancing a full time job, full time college deans list student, and trying to have a social life all at the same time is difficult. I know many have it worse than I do, just saying its nice to have a simple way to keep from being stressed.

Wanna hear a random late-night hours story? Lastnight, I went to date a guy, he was nice and sweet but then when he asked me if he can do cocaine, And Im like, Huh?! of course I cant tolerate shit Iike that, Anyway, I will go home and he paid for the Uber. I cant believe it,seriously, I think it messed me up. I cant stand it. Had to contact my fwb (sort of) coz I need to erase it in my memory. We cuddle,flirt and sleep. Thats it. In the morning, he had to go to work but I decide to stay, I cant go home.There is nothing to do there. His apartment is very nice to chill. There is a hammock and unlimited wifi.Thats why I am glad this tracklist made through this way in my channel list of Lofi mixes. Im subscribing. :D This made me feel better somehow.
