Projects like this are awesome to watch when they are someone else’s problem. Thank you Sam & Sage 🫡
Yes they are a would be going nuts if it happened to my car wouldn’t know what to do
Thank you SO much for philosophising at the beginning. I can TOTALLY relate since I'm hooked on buying salvage cars and trying to bring them back to life. I truly appreciate your thoughts, wisdom and humor. Thank you!
I have seen a guy ruin his whole life over a POS junk car that was worthless when he got it and he poured $$$,$$$ and hundreds of hours into a car that was worth about $30k at the time.....this guy just would NOT LET GO of this POS.
His wife left him and he ended up, 15 years later, living in his tow vehicle with nothing but this POS car, not running, on the trailer behind his tow vehicle.....and the POS car now worth virtually nothing......all over a f*cking Dodge Cordoba.....yes, folks....a f*cking Cordoba
Thomas seems like a very determined guy, I have faith he will get it running! It would be cool to see an update when he does get it fixed.
He hardly ever finishes a bigger project. Only ones he seems to kinda finish is pouring a mechanic in a bottle in a car.
His chanel would be much more entertaining to watch if he completed them. Which is why I don't even watch him anymore.
@@DavidSmith-qn9hg I'd watch him if he actually finished a project. Used to watch him before. But now it is just watching a car hoarder of broken junk cars.
It could be a really interesting chanel, but he never follows through.
Onya Sam.
Glad to see the hurricane didn’t affect you too much.
Hopefully you get back at it. Your channel is a inspiration to us shadetree mechanics. Love the videos. Sucks about the 2nd divorce.
You have to push down on the clutch and the e-brake may have to be engaged as well before it will start. Your friend was not pushing down on the clutch
I was really hoping that you both figured it out. Can't win them all. I'm sure the next one will go better. Looking forward to the video.
@@Samcrac dude, I did this exact build. Salt water flooded 2001 GTS Viper. Runs like a champ. Rebuilt the engine and the electrical. This isn't that hard.
Glad you are feeling better Sam and back to cracking out some viper videos, if anyone can passion this viper back to the road, you can!
UA-camrs buy these types of cars because us, the viewers, enjoy watching you work on these projects. In one word, content! Keep it up!
This is why I love the 1970's to 1960's. No electronic box to worry about.
You do this to entertain viewers and because it’s nice to repair a beautiful thing found broken. ✅
Takes a strong woman to understand a man's passions in life. At least you have your amazing stepmom!! 😘
Thanks for closing the loop on this one. Rinse and repeat on the other projects.
The vid I’ve been waiting for!
😎 I understand the loss of passion and or time/resources on a project. I have a set of knuckles that I just finally installed after about two years of sitting in the garage. Lol!
"the guy had a thing for left-front fenders" cracked me up :D
I’ve been waiting for this video! Thank you.
Anything can be fixed, given enough time, work and money. This car deserves a chance.
Nothing speaks volumes like experience!!! So thanks for sharing your experience Sam. Best friendly advice you can give. I can't imagine anywhere in Europe cheaper than the US to fix an American race/sports car. Best of luck Thomas
I always look forward to a new samcrac video
*STILL* king of the segue. I'm watching an ad for 30 seconds before I even realize it's an ad. You definitely have a talent for that. 🙂
Push in clutch for it to start. All standards are like that or every one I've had anyway. Even in neutral.
Auction fees just went up again too! Nothing like taking advantage of people while prices are already insane.
I would suggest steping on the clutch pedal and brakes. There is a switch that could send information to the ecu.
I hope you made it through Ian ok. I rode it out in Port Charlotte, it was rough for us. I've been looking for Vipers and Ferraris floating by haha.
Been missing this project!! Thanks Sam!!!
So glad to see Viper content!
Glad to see an update on the monster.
I used to do a lot of cars. I changed over to small motor stuff and it’s so much easier and more manageable to do.
Sam doesn’t the clutch need to be pressed to start? Looks like he was just hitting the button! Some times the small things are accidentally over looked and just wanted to throw that out there. God Bless !
Hey Sam, there's a bunch of flood projects in SW Florida.
The passion finds itself in you; you cant lose it.
build a Megasquirt and wire it into the car. I had a SL600 always in Limp mode. Swapped to Megasquirt with some GM parts and drove it for 3 years. Sold it to a neighbor and he has been driving it for 2 more years. I believe that' Viper is a simple car, no traction control or launch. Give it some fuel and spark and drive the hell out of it.
Have you tried checking the brake padel switch . May be you need to press the brake padel and then press the push button to start a car Since it has damage in that area it is possible the switch is not sending the signal to computer to crank it. Another way to check would be to press the brake and see if the brake light turn on. I am no expert but just my 2 cent
Guys got a Viper frame in his front yard - he's alright in my book 👍
Sam, I really would love to know more about you. I jusy hear you had a second wife.. I mean I know a lot about Alex on LSC, and Rich when I used to follow him. But I would love to know more about you. How did it all start, tell us a bit about your life man.
Thank you, Thomas, for the cautionary tale.
He's no doubting Thomas. 🥁
Vipers are hard to rehab, but I'm glad to see them come back to life. They only made 31,000 cars... total...from 1992-2017.
Use a aftermarket ECU like Haltec on it. Might be cheaper and faster.
I always look forward to your videos Sam! Thanks and keep it up! 👍
When I have a problem I know my stepmom will have great words of wisdom
Finally the Viper is back
wee need a stepmom update and maintenance video

“I’ll send u a bill”
My grandpa used to say that and would make me die laughing every time
I’m looking super forward to the L320 video 😂
Damn. Good storytelling.
Sam- Have you ever spoken with the Chrysler guy in Pound Ridge, NY He does all things Viper. Even had folks from England send Cipers over to him!
I rebuilt a 17 civic last yr wrecked in a snow storm, was pretty straightforward repair physically, but it just wouldn't crank for anything, I was pulling my hair out , then I took a hard look at the fuse box, something told me it was at the root, nothing seemed out of place, but I took the main fuse out and removed the window , still looked fine , changed it anyway and Boom! Car came to life, just a thought @Samcrac
"OOPS There go my shorts! "- Sam. Epic.
Hope your step-mother is going great!
I had so much hope that it would start... Maybe with a little bit more time it'll start.
Is it PASSION, Sam, or is it ADDICTION?! Love it brother!! Keep it going man, I'm addicted too, I need to get a damn camera behind me and get my mother in law on with me and start bringing in the big bucks doing what I love!! Thanks for the content Sam, you're the best Adam Sandler impersonator I've ever seen!!! : )
Sam... I just noticed... the clutch pedal was not engaged when Thomas hit the start button... its a manual! Good luck if the Viper is still in the USA...
It sucks that I live on the other side of the ocean, or I would try to help you out with it. I tend to solve things due to I’m stubborn and can’t stop thinking of why it doesn’t do as I want.
Good luck with it and go the basic ways first.
Did you hook it up to see if all parts communicate? Or at least those you need? Also, double check all earths it might be oxidized after the water, it can give some earth but not enough for the starter to engage, it needs solid ground and feed. I myself had that problem where the ground from battery engine and chassis wasn’t good enough for starter (loosened up after a week) but enough to give 12v on multimeter while testing and for rest of car functions to work.
Good luck!
Damn, I was really hoping to see some progress on the viper
I'm not going to lie, your advertisements that you put in your videos remind me of an early 90's porno movie intro
Good work Sam. They don’t all work out.
I knew when we sold that parts viper with a welded frame it was going to end up SOMEWHERE on UA-cam 😂 I’ve waited your entire rebuild to see if it would pop up here.
Viper owners are crazy 🙂 Props to them 🙂
Sam and Rich-two legged walking commercials😁
As many Land Rovers as you have bought, you are no pessimist!
Would tranfering to Europe magically remove it's flood history? 'Cuz THAT I think would be something a lot of people in Florida would like to know right now.
i think this type of projects are for very passionate people who love spend time figuring how to make it work but more like a hobby than a business
I’ve enjoyed the viper series. I thought it might run but I’m glad I didn’t have to buy it to find out.😂
Sam actually finishing a project. 🥳
Tavarish when he sees that viper frame in the yard
*”shut up and take my money”*
“Can I press your clutch pedal?” 😂😂😂
Standalone ecu and I would have bypassed everything day 1. Not sure why you guys didn't.
“I lost my passion awhile back, around the same time my second wife left.” Gawd damn dude😂💀
"I lost my passion around the same time my second wife left" - hope you're doing well. You're doing God's work on the Escalade - hope you see that project through to completion so you can sell it, content in the knowledge that you've turned a potential deathtrap into an auto that its next owner can be proud of.
At first I was all for it. I’ve worked on 2 flooded vipers. Even posted comments on what to check. Then it got to the point where I realized it was all for likes and subs. You got a guy to believe you could do a job that I wouldn’t trust you to work on my mower. Tell him I’ll work on his car for free. Rebuild the frame. Rework the wiring. And have it running. My shop can do it all.
Sam....If the car world goes to hell...You can get into comedy - love the subtle drops in your videos. - smart guy !
I totally forgot Rich had his own channel, I just thought he was a part time side kick on yours!😄😅🤣
There is a viper shop in The Netherlands called: ViperWizard. They are a garage specialized in Vipers. If your friend really wants to fix it, maybe he should call them. Just search the company, you'll find the phone number straight away. They know english
I just saw my post office...I'm in the Sunlake area!
the transition to the sponsor is increíble lmaoo
“I lost my passion after my 2nd wife left.” LMAO
The Segway we didn’t know we needed but require hahaha hey rich what you doing in town 😭😭😭
😂 these sponsor clips are too funny!
It's probably a network issue. One of your resistors probably fried in the water. Check all your grounds and b+ before condemning it.
Manually jump the starter and see if it will fire even put some starting fluid to it.
That man has the patience of a saint. Gonna take a whack of time and money to get that road worthy.
I’d send it back to auction. But hey, if he wants to continue rolling the dice. 🤷🏻♂️🤞🏻
Love the video can't wait to see the next one 🕐🕐
You do it because it’s a challenge, and because you love doing it. As you get older the vehicle bar raises.
You guys push the clutch in to start the car?
Been waiting for this one for a while! Very excited to see where it goes.....love this channel!!
Eric is probably Sam's long lost son lol
Sorry about the second wife, Sam.
But I always love to watch your videos because of your positivity and optimism.
There's a difference between being realistic and being pessimistic. I think you're just trying to be realistic about this one.
he teared his shorts on camera hahahahaha
Man oh man, all of your videos are SO well-produced, Sam! This is, hands down, one of the best channels on UA-cam - not just best automotive channels. This one was extra fascinating as we follow you through the troubleshooting process on the Viper. We're rooting for you! Keep up the good work 🙂
Don't give up on that V10 legend, they don't make them anymore. It would be a damn crying shame if that thing were to go to waste.
Samcrac don’t know if u have but u do so many waterlogged projects u should invest in a ultrasonic heat bath to get those corroded boards and parts clean just saying
Great channel sam!
that flooded module with corrosion on it is most likely toast.........put in another one!!!!
I'm glad you're okay now and feeling a lot better
