This is exactly what I was looking for! I've made my Wolverine armor and I need to clear coat it but was looking for a flexible top coat. Thank you so much!

Thank you very much for this video and the findings!!! I have no clue why this is not brought up. I am trying to finish a cosplay tomorrow at the final hour and trying to get some info on what you discussed. Life saver!

Thank you so much! Every time I research sealing my paint but it’s all actually priming foam. This was super helpful. I’d like my paint to stop chipping!

I had no clue that you would be testing the floor gloss, but thank you. I was struggling to find testing outside of modelmaking. The problem with models is that you tend to be clearcoating rigid structures and don't have to worry about cracking as much. Thanks!

OK so I’m not sure why I didn’t go to my own archives first because I’m an artist artist didn’t have to preserve my colored pencil and pencil drawings. Well, there is the stuff by Krylon called workable fixative. 1306 it protects, pencil, pastel chalk drawings prevents smudging, wrinkling. It allows easy rework. It’s acid free and archival safe.
So I’ve been creating my precious red and green macaw wings out of foam painted using FX paint and acrylic but I didn’t want it to get ruined in the event that it got wet or peel off. I did put a primer on but I’m not sure how effective it was…. I sprayed it on the foam and so far so good it didn’t warp it or distort it or discolor it, which I didn’t expect it to seeing is how it’s supposed to be good for 100 years ….so I will check back here in a few and let you know how it turned out but I’m thinking it’s gonna be pretty decent.

Anyone try the Krylon Clear Coats on foam and had any success? The Krylon seems to be pretty common in my area.

I wonder if you smack it real quick with a heat gun if those wrinkles would relax

Hi, I'm not the op in the video, but I have tried top coating with Plastidip Glossifier (if that is what ur referring to). I find it is flexible and nice gloss, however, if it rubs or snags anything the wrong way (eg i accidentally rub it on something or theres a bubble like a blister and it rips), it can peel easily and may not look good because the piece ends up looking like it has a layer glossy skin peeling off like a blister. I sealed an item, it started peeling, and i had to pick it off entirely to put another protectant over it
